We were warmly welcomed and were offered taste tests on any product we wanted. We bought several different kinds of salt and seasoning and we were given a sample of their passion fruit sugar. Cute shop, plenty of parking, and friendly service.

I was very pleased with my visit to Salty Wahine. The woman took time to explain and let us sample each spice we were interested in. She explained the various buying options and even informed us of how to save money by buying a bulk package. She seemed genuinely enthused by the product and was eager to demonstrate the quality. They even offer to ship the product if you prefer.The shop is a simple store situated on the end of a warehouse, but it is quite charming. We've, so far, used one spice in some fruit salsa and it was wonderful. We purchased a handful of spices and are happy to know they will ship when we run out and their grinders are refillable.

Haven't really even tried the spices yet, had some sniff and taste tests at the market, but even that so far has been wonderful, and Jessica was so kind I was sold on her personality alone. I LOVE Salty Wahine!! Their salt and peppercorn blends are always so delicious. Because we come to Kauai only once a year or less, we always stock up. I know we could order online but the experience to come in, try the blends, and shop for a year's supply is way better than scrolling on a page.The employees are always so nice and greet you upon entering and they allow you to try the different blends before you buy. They also have in store specials when you buy grinders and packets.They have mini grinders sold in a 3 pack that you can customize and gift to others. That size is for the close coworkers and friends that you want to get something for but also don't want to break the bank.After this last shopping trip, we're good for a year!

I have been using their seasoning for years now. I fell in love in Maui when we needed steak seasoning! We went to the ABC store and have been hooked ever since. I order a 1/2 quart bag a few times a year (Hawaiian rub)! This company still has a sale business feel. Where they give you free samples and hand write thank you on the order! Recently, they have raised prices but I will still continue to support this business! There is nothing that compares. From Oregon to Hawaii, we are thankful!

I bought Hot Lava, Guava Garlic & Passion Fruit Chili in Kauai 2 weeks ago. I have transformed our dinners: fresh tuna with hot lava salt was about the best thing I've ever cooked. We are adding these salts to chicken, fish & vegetables every night. I'm going to order some for Christmas gifts. I just add a small amount - less is more flavor!

These products are amazing. I first got their spices at the farmers market in Kailua and the gentleman working the booth was very helpful. I did small portion due to travel, but ordered larger quantity once home. Ordering online for shipping to New England was easy and fast.

Salty Wahine truly has the best customer service and thoughtfully crafted delicious products. They had a slight delay in getting a product in to make one of the items I had ordered. They personally called me to explain the situation and we're super apologetic (which wasn't necessary at all.) It was just incredibly kind of them to do that and they thanked me for my order. They explained how grateful they've been for online customers during the past year and a half with the slowing of tourist and challenges importing product from the mainland. They have my business for life and their hot lava salt is fantastic! We use it for our burgers and get so sad when we run out. The flavor is amazing! Try it! Cute little store with lots of yummy spices. I couldn't decide at all which ones I should get. Unfortunately I couldn't buy everything - spices are expensive. Nice lady at the counter who was ready to help and answer questions. Ended up buying some blends for the inlaws and a chef friend - and of course for myself! Definetely have to come here when in Kaua'i!

Their Hawaiian Rub is the best spice blend for chicken and pork. We love it! Bought a gallon this time to ship back home to be sure we don't run out! It's also very good on potatoes and popcorn!

Their products are great! Very flavorful. Last time we brought several grinders home; the airport security took a long hard look at everyone of them and even xrayed them.This time, they were in my husband's bag and airport x-rayed them, did drug tests on them, made my husband go thru security again and did a very thorough pat down including feeling thru his pants his personal areas. Next time, we are ordering on line.

There is nothing fancy about this place except that they offer excellent products at reasonable prices with exceptionally friendly customer service. It's not much more than a counter in a warehouse but these are the people that actually package the products found in other retail stores. We found our favorite Hawaiian rub in an economical large size saving us a good amount over the smaller packages found in other retail stores on the island. Here we met undoubtedly the friendliest people in Hanapepe. All types of salts and local spices were on display. We will definitely be back.

This surprisingly is one of our favorite stops in Kauai. We love their Hawaiin Rub spice mix and their selection of spice mixes, salts and local sugars. Not much to look at since it's just a corner of a warehouse but their products are great. We usually dealt with the owner but this time we dealt with Dexter who was also fantastic at giving us advice including the best ideas on the spices we bought plus taste samples of each of their products. My wife found Salty Wahine on our 10th wedding anniversary trip to Kauai. We brought some home and had to have more. They ship to the mainland!!! Bonus. USPS is a nightmare and lost our package. After a week of dealing with their incompetence I called Salty as a last resort. Jessica, you are so wonderful. She offered to reship. Our package was found luckily. When opened, there was a wonderful handwritten Thank you note from Sean. Talk about pure Aloha. We are really enjoying our spices and the passion fruit sugar is insane. Thank you so much for fulfilling my order so quickly. I had made plans to visit Hawaii again and your store in December but unfortunately because of our current crises my family and I had to cancel our travel plans. We discovered these products while in Kauai years ago. Owner was selling them from a tent covered table in a parking lot. We bought some of the hawaiian rub and loved it! Check them out!! Visit the store! Yes you can find their products elsewhere, but you can sample everything and talk to the folks actually making the product here! They are so knowledgeable and have great recipe suggestions - I can't wait to get home and try some out!
