Visited the town of Hanapepe on a Sunday and it was pretty sleepy, most everything closed. However, we came for the swinging bridge and coming on a slow day made it for less people there. It was a beautiful day and views from the bridge are so good with the blue sky, green, and red dirt. It was a little windy so the bridge was really swinging when we walked across it.Parking wasn't difficult due to the town mostly being closed.

It's a cool little bridge spanning a stream and the construction on either side to protect the town from flooding. There are no real facilities but it's a unique construction and good for a walk across and back.If you are on the south side of Kauai, it's a must stop experience and shop a little in hanapepe while you are here. A pleasant hour or so for the family and you can go do other things in your day.No ticket or admission cost.

The Hanapepe Swinging Bridge, a historic and picturesque landmark, offers a quaint slice of Kauai’s charm. This swinging suspension bridge, which has been restored after damage by hurricanes, provides not just a passage over the Hanapepe River but also a delightful adventure. As you walk across, the gentle sway and scenic views of the lush surroundings transport you back to a simpler time. While completely safe, the bridge’s movement adds a touch of excitement to the experience, making it memorable for adults and kids alike. Located in the heart of the artsy town of Hanapepe, the bridge is just a short walk from local galleries and eateries, perfect for a leisurely day out. Be sure to bring your camera, as the bridge and its views offer fantastic photo opportunities. Although parking can be limited during busy times, visiting early in the day can help you avoid crowds and fully enjoy the serene environment.

An experience to go do but once you cross, there’s not much more to do. There is a partial trail but we saw some homes next to it and didn’t feel comfortable walking behind their home’s view so early in the morning. Bridge itself is old but you are asked not to swing the bridge so….It’s in the name but not! Otherwise, still a site and experience. The area in which the bridge is located has quaint little stores and food venues but we were not able to experience many as we were just too early.

Small hanging bridge just off the main street of the charming little town of Hanapepe.Nothing spectacular, but it's a fun little walk. Bonus points for stepping in rhythm to amplify the sway lol.ps steel braided cable are an inch thick. It's built strong and very very safe.

This is a great stop and historic attraction to see in Kauai. The Hanapepe Swinging bridge is a historic suspension bridge that was built in 1911. It is a long narrow swinging bridge, which is 3 foot wide and has wooden railings with protective meshes for safe crossing. It is still used by the residents of Hanapepe to cross the Hanapepe river. This little bridge in Kauai’s ‘Biggest Little Town’, gets its name from its swinging nature. Unlike most swinging bridges in the world, this one is short in height and is safe for family and kids to cross. Kids will love the place as they can run over the grassy patches beside the river and play around. This bridge is easy to cross and has good parking space for visitors. A lot of tourist visit on Fridays when many activities are going on in the town of Hanapepe. The Hanapepe swinging bridge has a load limit of 15 persons at a time. If there are people coming from the other end, you’ll have to wait for them to pass, because of the limited width of the bridge.Once you cross over, there is a small museum with historical facts about the bridge and town, but it was closed when we crossed over. You can cross over in few minutes or take your time enjoying the views and taking pictures

Lame. Not worth the parking hassle or time involved. If watching dozens of tourists clogging access and taking endless selfies, then this place is for youThere are so many once in a lifetime things to see on Kauai. This is not one of them

Aloha, fellow adventurers! I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Hanapepe Swinging Bridge in the charming town of Hanapepe, and let me tell ya, it was a real thrill. The bridge itself was an adventure, swaying gently as I crossed over the river below. And the town was a delight, with plenty of local shops, galleries, and restaurants to explore. Highly recommend for a fun and unique experience in Hanapepe!

Short and sweet, not scary for my 7 and 5 year old. Wish the town was still more vibrant though. Be sure to make reservations for the Grandma Japanese restaurant - no luck walking in.

It's a fun activity to test your nerves, but please read the signs for your own safety. Please keep in mind that some of the planks leading to the bridge are soft and worn, as well as some planks on the bridge, and especially weathered photo-op platform after the bridge. The bridge and it's surroundings have been minimally maintained and a bit of a patchwork.

This bridge was fun to cross. It's very narrow and a bit scary crossing. Also be aware that there is metal chicken wire or something like that along the bottoms of the bridge and if you have on clothes that flow such as a dress it will for sure get caught up on the wire. There were a few loose boards but that added to the excitement.
