We stopped in after a long hike and nearly all the other restaurants were closed unfortunately (Sunday). The food here was decent but was pretty expensive for basically fast food. My husband had the BBQ plate, he thought it was ok. I had the cheeseburger and enjoyed it. The person taking orders didn't hardly say a word to us which caused some confusion about how/where to pick up our order.

This is an undervalued small restaurant. BBQ mixed plate is what i like. A big portion size is what i need after long hours of hiking in the mountains. This is a good food to replenish my energy. The price is about $15.00. I like this kind of places because i do not have to waist a precious daylight to stay in line at the restaurant to purchase food. There are so many places to see on this island that it would be an embarrassment for me. Most people, just like me on this island, have only a few days to enjoy. Lets make the most with the time we have. By the way, the food is very good.

The saimin burger was better than I excepted, and pork tonkatsu with curry was good too! The wait could take up to 20 minutes on a busy day. Other than that it was pretty Nice and authentic. I'm Gastroenterita on Instagram and Tiktok. follow for food from everywhere but lots of MEXICAN FOOD 😏

For many years I have wanted to find a chicken katsu curry that mimicked my favorite in Okinawa. Well, I found it here! I didn't like that I had a hard time u understanding the cashier, but, I loved the chicken katsu curry so much that I went back twice. 🤣 HIGHLY recommend getting the curry on the side so your chicken stays crispy; if you're not eating it right away that is.

The garlic shrimp tasted great! My son loves their spam musubi. He said they are much better than lots of places offered when we were in Oahu. The size of plate was relatively bigger. Plus, the prices were very reasonable! Overall, very nice place to have the meals with family with good taste and prices!

My wife and I visited L&L Hawaiian Barbecue while visiting the Ching Young Village in Hanalei on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022. We were drawn to some authentic Hawaiian food and outdoor seating that faced the main street of Hanalei.I ordered the teriyaki steak with double rice and my wife ordered the seafood platter. The person who took our order was not friendly. To be honest, this was probably the most disappointing meal we had in Hawaii. My teriyaki steak was very rough, thin, and just very average. But I guess I should speak for myself because my wife said she enjoyed her meal. The atmosphere was nice because we did secure the seats that look out on the street and we enjoyed the view. Also, just to expose how much of a Hawaiian rookie I am, we thought we were eating at a local business when we selected L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. Little did we know that the chain has restaurants all over the island. If we ever return to Hawaii, we won’t (or at least I won’t) be eating here again.

Stopped at this place for lunch today. Phenomenal to say the least. Diverse menu with plenty of options and the prices were great. I got the double cheese BBQ burger and it was one of the best burgers I’ve had. Mainland included. I’d highly recommend this place and will be going back before I leave the island. I don’t think you will be disappointed if you decided to stop in here for a bite to eat.

Did I just pay $40 for 2 plates of fast food?!?! They also charged extra for “to-go” because apparently when I said “for here” that was not an option.The pork combo portion was really small; Pork laulau was very fatty. Kahlua pork didn’t really have much seasoning or flavor. BBQ chicken was a bigger portion, but the chicken tastes like frozen chicken quality. Wanted to try this because of “Hawaiian”…but it was pretty meh

Late 2022 Update..Been coming here for yrs has been consistent since out 1st time.The Ramen burger are amazing here,Wish they kept serving Ox Tail soup here.BBQ mix plate will fill ya up, They also have Bubba Drips! (Get the Bananna)Beautiful location here in Princeville!

The portion was good. The food was fine, but when you’re in an island you expect to eat fresh seafood and not frozen fish from Costco because that's how fish and shrimp tasted so it seems expensive to me because you're not eating fresh seafood.

Got the Loco Moco and Barebecue Chicken. Both were delicious. Only down side is you'll have to wait standing in line for about 30 mins and wait another 20 to get your food. It's located in a tourist trap.

Meh food and a meh experience. There was no line and little wait for our food which was great. The individual helping us was rude and short with us and annoyed when we asked questions about the menu. The food was alright, but nothing that we’d recommend or go back for.Parking: Parked in the shopping center parking lot.

I am not really sure why this place has low ratings. I frequented here during my stay at Princeville as i was in love with their katsu curry chicken plate… portion was good for a heavy appetite female like me. Chicken was juicy, extremely crispy and curry was very decadent. I am really going to miss this place for katsu chicken curry.. dnt knw if it is authentic but why wud it matter if it is mind blowing

Not all L&L Barbecues are the same. We went to one on the big island and it was great!This one in Hanalei was $8 more for the mixed plate and we got 1/2 the food 😞 (less rice and less meat)Pick something else.

I'm not sure how this place has a 3.9 star rating. We ordered 2 burgers, 1 French fry, and my wife got a fruity looking drink.The burgers didn't taste hamburger. We aren't sure what it was. We didn't finish them. She ordered a cheeseburger and I got a BBQ burger. (The difference was ketchup and watery BBQ sauce)Her fruity drink was pink and looked like blueberries in the bottom. It tasted like strawberry quick mixed in skim milk. The fruit at the bottom wasn't blueberries and they had no flavor.Save your money! Find another place to eat.
