Just the coolest atmosphere to dine on this side of Maui. The BBQ chicken is incredibly moist, and I loved the Mac salad. The staff create a family feel. They were friendly, and we chatted about their style of cooking - I dare not share the secret recipe!!!You sit on one of several beaches spread across the beach front. Why would anyone want to eat at the Ritz… when you’ve got this food and vibes at a reasonable price.

Small stand on the side of the road by the beach. You can not beat their location, any closer to the water and they would be in the ocean !The chicken was amazing, tender and super flavorful!The pork was delicious, sweet and tender.Portion are large and could be enough for two small eaters.Stop and eat but the waves, great food and great views !

There are hundreds of roadside places to grab a bite in Hawaii and I suspect that many have earned their reputations, good or bad. But on the road to Hana, there is one place that gets a ton of attention, the Huli Huli Chicken place just after you go through Hana. Located on a red sand beach with picnic tables for enjoying lunch, this place serves up some truly fantastic smoked/grilled chicken that is super tender and very flavorful. There is a pork ribs option that you can get if you want and those are just average, but get yourself some chicken and sit down to a great view and a memorable lunch.

One of the gems of the Hana side of the island.I'm still thinking about my combo plate. The ribs and chicken have a nice smokiness to them. Mac salad was tasty as well. Simple but really good food.This place is right in front of a red sand beach and there are picnic benches for customers. It is a beautiful place and eating my plate lunch here was one of the most satisfying things ever.Cash only.

Loved it! $18 for a chicken plate that (chicken, rice and 2 salads) fed 2 of us comfortably for lunch. Salads were very tasty, and chicken was fantastic! Lots of parking, and beautiful spot at the red sand beach with a gorgeous view. Would definitely stop here again. Has several picnic tables to sit and eat, or can take to go. Recommend sitting and enjoying the view!

When you drive the road to Hana you have to resist the temptation to stop at all the many roadside trucks and stands along the way. Be patient and wait for Uncle Russell's Huli Huli Chicken. Hot and juicy, and a substantial portion. We ate at provided picnic tables in a rustic setting as the waves rolled over the dramatic jagged coastline. Felt I got a full $16 worth, best lunch on Maui.A great turn around point for the journey back if you like going back the way you came. For us it was a great refueling point for the continued journey around the south side of Haleakala where the most amazing coastline awaited along with the most difficult and harrowing stretch of road. You came this far on the road to Hana, but you are about to start the really difficult part of the drive.Timed right we came to the easier part of rosd just into the beauty of the setting sun against the south Maui shoreline.⁸

The chicken is for sure very yummy and moist. But I don’t know if it’s because it was hyped up so much and I had such a really high expectation, I found the food and environment to be just very slightly higher than average. My boyfriend and I ordered the combo set with ribs and chicken and we both agree that the chicken is way better than the ribs. There were also a lot of flies when we were there late afternoon so that certainly affected our experience.

I wouldn't say this is the best Huli Huli chicken on island but they are pretty good. Chicken was lightly smoked & very tender. Wish there was a bit more flavored. It is located on the Red Sand beach called Koki beach which made the atmosphere excellent! Glad we got there around 3 pm b/c they sold out of chicken soon after that & only had ribs left. Cash only.

Alright- full disclosure. I was expecting phenomenal food, after hearing Gordon Ramsey rave about it. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but I can't give it 5 stars. The pork dish also, is 4 stars rather than 5 stars. Still a great place to stop and eat lunch during the Road to Hana adventure. The beach at this spot has beautiful red sand, and a beach-comber vibe. It's worth the stop, and a good meal - even at $20. But it won't be winning any chicken Master Chef awards.

This is phenomenal chicken! I love the marinated, smoked and sliced thighs or breast chicken. They also offer pork and beef options too. They are located in one of the most interesting beaches that has red sand and backpack lava rock. Which you get to watch as you eat your meal.Definitely stop here if you get the chance.

Not sure if it’s because we’ve been chasing waterfalls and beach hopping in Hana which can built quite an appetite. But the chicken is exceptionally good and juicy. We ordered the chicken and the combo which is chicken and ribs. Both were excellent, apparently Gordon Ramsay also approved. Pro tip: get there early to avoid lineups and sold out chicken. Another tip: order that coconut cream pie, had to line up again to get seconds. It was that good.

Owners were so nice and wonderful to us, definitely spreading the Aloha. We got the huli huli chicken combo, and the serving was generous. It was enough to feed two people and still have some left over. It was a very enjoyable meal (ribs, chicken and salad were good), with the red beach and waves in the background. I'm glad I stopped here on the road to hana. Definitely one to remember.

Like awesome food with a great view? Then definitely check this place out. This cash-only place serves great food (had the Hulu chicken bowl ~ $18) that is well worth the drive. They have ample seating by the seaside. The portion size was huge. So we had to spend an entire hour at the adjacent beach watching waves while fighting the food coma.Totally worth stopping by while in Hana. Highly recommend.

Friendly locals and killer food, plain and simple. Not to be missed if you’re making the Road to Hana trip. The chicken is so flavorful, and crisp. The ribs were insanely moist and pulled off the bone. Mac salad was stellar and even the green salad had this amazing dressing - I wish I knew how to make.

Okay, so where do I start. It's not a 5 star restaurant. It's dirty, and in a parking lot. You'll have to shush flies away as you eat, but it's worth it. Our chicken portions were not what I've seen from the pictures online, not even close. The staff was friendly, but distracted. The trash was spilling out into the parking lot and no one was maintaining a clean environment. The chicken however, was to die for. So good. The salad, we didn't even touch, was not good, but not our thing. Wish I had picked the food up and taken it back to our room. The environment kind of killed our appetites.
