Amazing Surf Shop! Starting with the staff; so polite and friendly to work with. They were always helpful in assisting and asking questions if we needed any help. Had genuine conservations about life and the area in general, including offering advice of where to go to for snorkeling and surfing; not just the spots right in front of you either. The shop is well set up, with loads of inventory available across all of your water needs for the day. Even better, they have a huge selection of gear to take home from T-Shirts, Hats, shorts, sweaters, hoodies, and more! Prices are reasonable so would definitely go home with some North Shore swag.Rental process was VERY easy. Even the whole setup for a private lesson on surfing was stream less and so quick; our surf instructor Boomer was so professional, kind, and just a great Teacher all around (always safe but helped us push our limits equally).Put this on your list as a MUST stop when in the North Shore!! Remember, they handle ALL your water needs (Including snorkeling).

The Legend Seth, helped me out today BIG time. He was so helpful & knowledgeable - we purchased a Jordy Smith pro board & I couldn’t be happier to take this amazing board back to New Zealand. It’s going to be a wall hanger with pride of place next to my JOB Tokoro. Thanks Seth - you’re the man !!!

Blue building past the food trucks - they were great. We showed up with no real plans but they had everything we needed available for rent or purchase and gave great advice without being pushy for all our snorkeling desires. They give you a discount at the food trucks next door when you return your stuff so keep that in mind! Also, the don't have anti-fog for the snorkel goggles and instead use these special leaves - make sure to grab extras. Otherwise I highly recommend these guys.

Friendly staff, easy to hire.Snorkel and shoes are $20 to hire but if you look inside the building at the end you can buy the snorkel forever for $29. Shoes can also be bought separately - not sure how much.If you arrive with only an hour left you still have to pay $20 to hire even though you only have an hour so the earlier you come the longer you get to hire it - the minimum seems to be for a day or there are options for longer.

This place is the bomb diggy!Sean had awesome customer service and was able to get me hooked up for surfing Hawaii with some surfing lessons. If you haven’t surfed Hawaii and want to learn this place is the place to go to.Instructor Boomer gave a lot of knowledge on how to read the ocean and surf it, which then later I was able to go out and surf by myself with ease.Their apparel for surfing is awesome as well.My surf shirt for surfing last week that served me well so my nipple don’t get raw from the board wax.Got me a hat back in 2017.Which Sean hooked me up getting Laim to sign my hat this week.In sum, I have no negative comments to say about this place and everything positive.

our shark dive tour was canceled early in the morning so we stopped by a nearby food truck and decided on a whim to go snorkeling for the day instead. this was the closest shop and stopped by to check out prices. we rented 3 snorkel sets, a life jacket and a locker. they also gave us great recommendations on where to do some easy snorkeling since we had a group of varying abilities. very nice staff, very helpful and very reasonably priced rentals

Solid place to rent snorkeling gear. $20 per person for goggles and flippers for the day. Annoying that it costs $10 to lock up your belongings though. They have their own parking lot too.

Great experience renting snorkel gear for the day! Liam (pretty sure I'm remembering his name correctly) was incredibly helpful. Lots of tips on gear and where to go once in the water. He set us up with a locker for the day and we were able take the gear with us to a few different locations on the North Shore (the best was Sharks Cove though). Just asked to drop it off before closing time (7:00 PM I believe) and all good. The whole process was very easy which is exactly what we were looking for.

Gear was nice, the staff were also nice but the aggressive upselling made me want to get the interaction over with.

The gear worked great and the prices were reasonable, but they attempted to steal from me.I can’t give any more than 1 star due to the lack of ethics in the culture here.Guy giving me the gear clearly tells me the fins are $10 and the rash guard shirt is $5.Guy checking me out goes $10….and $10.As soon as I tell him it was $5 he crosses out the $10 and says oh yea it’s $5. He was experienced with everything else and knew it was $5. He just wanted to get one over on a tourist.Unacceptable behavior. Take your business elsewhere.

I was snorkeling for the very first time today (it’s easier than you think) :)We rented 2 sets and 2 vests here for only $60/1 day/ 2 people. I think it’s a great price. We saw a lot of fish and ww were lucky to see 2 huge turtles about 7-8 feet deep. It was amazing, beautiful experience. We’ll go back next time when we’re in the Island and I highly recommend it for anyone.

Yikes.Stopped by here today to rent a snorkel & mask, and were instructed to do a “safety briefing” before being able to even ask any questions about price, how long we can rent etc. The “safety briefing” had some useful tips mixed in but was mostly an opportunity to upsell. The person helping us was barely 12 (don’t know about labor laws here but thought this was odd) and tried to upsell us on sunscreen, lockers, and parking. We went to pay and it was $20 for the day… we knew there was a shop in Haleiwa doing 4.5 hour rentals for $8 and there’s shops in Waikiki doing day rentals for $8-$14 depending on the type of snorkels you want. This was definitely a last minute shop/tourist trap and finding out the price after sitting through what felt like a timeshare pitch, we opted to return the gear and not rent. The cashier was unhappy about this decision and made us walk all the way back around to return the gear. You work here, why are you making customers put stuff back for you???Come prepared if you wanna snorkel at Shark’s Cove. This place felt like a tourist trap where they’ll try to charge you for breathing the same air as them.

Everyone was very pleasant to interact with during the rental and education process. Go early to get parking and enjoy all the amazing fish in the cove. I don't know why there are neon fish but they are beautiful.

The best location to rent your SUP equipment on the North Shore, right in front of Sharks Cove (great spot for snorkeling), next to Foodland. We saw a few dolphins and huge turtles! The staff was super nice and friendly. Mahalo David, Johnny and Liam

I was about to rent a snorkel and fin set from here for the day, but the guy helping me was extremely rude. My friend that has a newborn pulled over on the side of the road near houses to feed her baby and I decided to run inside real quick. He berated me for “parking” and demanded to know exactly what beach I was headed to. He tried to have me sit down so he could lecture me about where I can park and what beach I could go to. He quizzed me about where I was headed and who I was with. I was ready to rent, but just due to his unacceptable behavior I walked out.I’m sure he’ll read this review and try to make an excuse. Again, we were NOT parked in the no parking area, we pulled over to feed the baby and so I could quickly run in to rent gea

It’s a last minute Rental place.. there are cheaper places for gear if your willing to drive 7-10 more minutes.. they close at 6pm and will charge you a lot more if your late.. other than that it’s okay, the dude in charge wasn’t very friendly and seemed like he was irritated? we wanted just masks which you can’t do here (but you can do at surf N sea just down the road for $5 a day!😏🤫)

Big selection of rental surfboards great location and food trucks right next to it. 4 star for that!1 star for the stuff seems like they just not care from the place that it’s make sad!Prices change depends on the person and the price on the broad not really matters for them I hope that the owner will see it and will do some homework because I’m not the first one that complained on it here and I believe not the last one

Ok gear: I told the guy my foot size, but the first pair of fins he handed over to me cracked immediately when I tried it on. It seems the rubber is very old and very easy to break. Nice that they did not say nothing about that and just gave me a larger pair. The other gears we rented are good to use.The guy outside is very nice. He gaved a lot helpful advice as I’m new to snorkeling. However, the payment part was not so pleasant. The shop does not accept cards, they let you use the ATM, which apparently has an additional fee for withdraw. There is also a $5 or $7 fee to get a locker to put your car keys in the clothing shop next to it. Cash only, also. It’s just not so customer friendly at all. Also the guy in the counter asked “ you guys Chinese ?“ first as and then was not so nice answering questions. (We do have some questions since it’s our first snorkeling experience.) Not sure wether this is how he treat all customers, but do make me not so comfortable.

We got a lesson and rented boards from Liam at the Shark’s cove shop and had a great experience! Very friendly and down to earth and worked out a good deal for us. Josh was a great instructor and made sure we had a good time out on the water. Highly recommend Liam and his team!

I had a two hour private surf lesson with Titus and it was amazing! He showed me some good techniques and let me know when to fix my positioning on the board. He also helped me paddle out when I was exhausted which was def a highlight. He’s pretty chill and fun to chat with too. Would highly recommend :)

Great help getting everyone outfitted with snorkels/fins/masks/booties and also advised us of the water conditions at various beaches. We also signed up for surf lessons as the North Shore was going off all week. The family had a great morning surfing with Titus at baby Chun's. He was amazing at helping everyone get amazing rides and saving them when they got stuck in the waves. And when they got tired there were spring fed tide pools to play in.

Decent place to grab some snorkel gear. Cash only....except for the credit card they want to keep as a deposit on the gear. I assume it's to avoid the credit card processing fee but there is an ATM in the corner that will happily charge you a fee. Hit or miss service. One guy outside was super helpful with snorkeling advice but the guy inside was very unclear about return times and appeared insulted to answer questions. Be very clear on how long your rental period lasts or you might be unpleasantly surprised. After clarifying upon return, again to his frustration, we dropped the gear and left.

my boyfriend and i came maybe around 6:30, HALF AN HOUR before they closed because we were looking for some shorts and we were greeted nicely by one of their staff it was okay at first. however, another one of their staff, a blonde guy, was very very rude to us. when we told him what we were looking for, he rolled his eyes and said “yeah if you can get to it,” giving us a lot of attitude.my boyfriend and i also saw this lady coming back to return rentals and she wasn’t told a time to come back so she came back around the same time we did, and the same guy gave her attitude saying that she should’ve come back at 6, but no one told her, and he still blamed her and got mad. this guy has too much attitude and should not be working in customer service.i don’t expect them to be all sunshine and rainbows, i’m not a tourist, so it doesn’t bother me that they may not be all “aloha spirit” like tourists want, but the attitude is just so bad…i also work in customer service, and i understand that it gets irritating when people come close to close, but it gives them no right to be rude. we got sick of his attitude and just walked out, we didn’t wanna deal with that. don’t come here, local OR tourist, you’ll be greeted with some rude employees and the other reviews here concur with my statement.

Best surf lessons on the North Shore, excellent quality and value, fantastic instructors, highly recommend. Our instructor Eala had my girlfriend catching her very first attempted wave ever, and the waves weren’t easy that day. Great patience and effort that was much appreciated. Highlight of our trip! Thanks to all!

Be aware you are a captive audience here as a tourist. You can get what you need to snorkel or surf here but things are expensive. If you can wait I would save your pennies and buy or rent elsewhere. Beyond the pricing the guys outside were great, very nice and helpful. I went inside and the guy was clearly tired of stupid tourists asking dumb questions. His service was poor. I had to buy a rash guard for my 5 year old and he seemed to think it was a chore to help me. Note bring cash to avoid credit card service fee.

These guys were quick and made things very easy. Lockers are available next store for $5, which was strongly suggested due to theft in the area. The cove itself was wonderful despite very little sand and beach area. Even in the afternoon, it wasn't too crowded at all and the water was crystal clear!Once we got past the first cliff point, there were plenty of fish and even a few turtles! Definitely would recommend. If you don't have fins, definitely bring some water shoes, as there is a bit of a rocky climb down to the water.
