The shave ice is just okay. Texture is unfortunately quite icy, and if we didn't get the ice cream, it would have been a little unpleasant. The red bean also helped. The little courtyard you can sit in right outside is cute though. If you only get shave ice once on Hawaii though, there are plenty of other options that are better around the Honolulu area though.

Awesome treat for a hot day. We saw everyone eating them and wanted to try. Excellent choice. Easy to order - just read the signs while in line and know before you enter to order. The large handle Sharing is say. Not overpriced - great value. You can’t go wrong…Kid-friendliness: Kids will love it here.

Huge selection of flavors. Shaved ice is dense and holds the flavors well. I'd recommend getting condensed milk to mellow out the flavors a bit

You can't not, when you're on the North Shore. They have menus in line so you can prepare yourself. Once you order, your shave ice comes out fast. We ordered all the things on our shave ice, as you should. Not saying you'll like all the things, but you have to try it as it was meant to be. We got the "small" and shared it with 2 people and couldn't finish.

Lined appeared long but it went by quick. Easy to order, with ample options. Parking is the most difficult part. Once I had my shaved ice, I understood why this is so popular.I read another review that put it really simple. There is shaved ice and then there is SHAVED ICE!

The last time, we enjoyed the watermelon and yuzu flavors, but this time, there was no watermelon flavor available. Instead, we tried the matcha and yuzu-pickled mango, while my husband opted for mango and strawberry flavors. The skillful handiwork of the staff always mesmerizes me whenever I see them at work. The place is always packed, with long queues, and finding a seat is quite challenging due to the crowds. It's the most famous shaved ice shop on Oahu Island.🍧

For the price, this place is great but I wouldn’t say it’s the best shave ice on the island. I did strawberry watermelon, and pina colada with ice cream. The syrups were fantastic and the ice cream was totally worth it. My issue was the shave ice didn’t keep the syrup well and it melted so quickly. I ended up with just liquid.The service was great though. Huge lines that move fast with how quickly they crank out your order.

Matsumoto Shave Ice is located in the small historic town of Haleʻiwa on Oahu's North Shore. It is a great place to stop by for a break from exploring the town, or if you’re in the area and craving a cooling snack.The shave ice comes in two sizes, where you can choose preset flavour combinations or create your own of up to three flavours (over 30 to choose from, and all made from cane sugar). Additional toppings include: vanilla ice cream, azuki beans, condensed milk, and mochi balls.  They also give you a straw to sip the liquids at the bottom of the bowl for when the ice melts a little too quickly, but I also found that they give a little too much syrup here.I ordered a small green tea, peach and yuzu flavor shave ice, topped with condensed milk a mochi. It was delicious, refreshing, and the price was good!There was quite a long line here, but the service was very efficient so the wait was reasonable. There’s also a free parking lot at the back, however, it may be a little difficult to find a spot since the area can get pretty busy.

The North Shore original shave ice, and the best on Oahu for several years running. Family owned and operated since the 1950s. The selection can get overwhelming - go once for familiar flavors, then again for something exotic. Base servings are cheap, but the sugar-simmered red beans and vanilla ice cream are worthy add-ons. Fun attached merchandise shop, too.

It was my first time here because a friend recommended it. It is a very popular place so expect a long but fairly quick moving line. they have plenty of seating in the courtyard which has a good amount of shade for a hot afternoon.They have a ton of flavors and some delicious topping.The mochi balls topping is not filled so its just the plain dough.The shaved ice itself was delicious and refreshing. The size small was so huge that both my husband and I could not finish it.

Nice place to get some shaved ice. They offer a great selection of flavors in 2 sizes: medium and large.They offer also ace cream, beans and condensed milk among other toppings.Flavors are great. Loved the choice of wooden spoon and wooden straws. Eco friendly.Service was good. They are fast serving the long line.Definitely a good stop on your trip to North Shore.Dietary restrictions: Not a place for people with sugar limitations.Parking: Plenty spots for parking.

Absolutely a must if you are in Oahu.. a taste of this iconic shaved ice in the northern part of Oahu is worth the drive even if you don’t care about surfing! So many amazing flavors to choose from. We ignored the calories and orders the special with everything .. the waffle cone shade bowl with much , sweet condensed milk and red beans are so yummy!! A must for tourists !!!

They move the line quickly. You get a great large serving for a small bowl and it's cheap! Other places will charge double. Their shaved ice is sooo good!Parking: Parking is a hit or miss and is in the back. They were super busy so had to circle arpund for parking since they share the lot with other businesses .

Super fast. You get your shave ice less than 1 minute. The smaller size was big enough for one person. Taste is great. Employees are kind and full of energy. The atmosphere is cozy and just great. Haven't been here in years, but it's still as awesome as always!! Definitely recommend stopping by this world-famous treat store.I was telling the lovely young lass who served me the last time I had eaten their shaved ice, and she laughed and said, "I wasn't even born yet, lol!"
