If you’re an animal lover, you’ll see by these photos why i’ve rated it one star.I had to come here for feeder bugs, as i wasn’t able to order them in time off of my usual website.I have NEVER seen animals so neglected and malnourished. the poor discounted leopard gecko is on the brink of death. not to mention they were sitting on calcium sand which causes impaction.Chameleons were bone thin, and one looked incredibly sick.I didn’t even photograph everything but there were BOAS and BALL PYTHONS stacked in cages. rabbits in fish tanks, and half of their fish looked sickly.These people cannot say that these animals have a quick turn around, by the looks of it; they’ve been sitting there for AT LEAST six months, if not closer to a year or more.I won’t be coming back here again, and if my leo didn’t need food today, i wouldn’t have bought from them in general.don’t support abuse, these guys are worse than petsmart.You’d think a pet store would want to keep their animals in the best conditions while teaching you how to properly care for them.Report it if you see it.

I had such a pleasant experience here! I went in to ask some questions as I was interested in owning a spider and two very nice and super sweet employees were kind enough to answer all of my questions they really went above and beyond for me! They even showed me the exact merchandise I would need to purchase to make the pet I purchased happy and were kind enough to let me hold one to ease my concerns. I would give this place 10/10 stars if I could, everyone was very lovely and as an avid animal lover I loved everything about the store. This will be my new place to shop for all of my pet needs as they also have amazing supplies for dogs and I have two of them. Their prices are hard to beat!

Closed on Sunday’s so I will have to wait until Monday to notify them of this out dated Ceasar dog food. My dog already had eaten half of this as a topper on some kibble. I noticed when I made his lunch that he was reluctant. Checked the date and its’s dated July 2023… please make sure you’re checking the dates on the food.

This is one of the worst pet stores I’ve ever seen. My boyfriend and I travel a lot and have a lot of reptiles at home and love to see what cool stores we can find, but this was very sad and disappointing no wonder they didn’t want any pictures taken. Animals were overcrowded, the store was cluttered and dirty, and most of the animals looked sick. They had boas stacked on top of each other, bunnies in a tall fish tank that was a foot deep, and skunks that couldn’t even lift their heads. Every single tank is dirty. This store does not care about their animals and shouldn’t be allowed to sell them. Please do not go here.

I was pleasantly surprised to see such competitive pricing! And I thought I was saving money with chewy.I can't imagine what a pet owner might need that they don't have. Couldn't ask for a better or more knowledgeable staff!

Will never shop at this pet store again. We had been buying our dog’s food here for several months and never had a great experience, but we were willing to continue to give them our business because it was the only local store that carried the brand we use. However, after our most recent experience, we will not be returning. When we bought our usual bag of dog food this last time, we noticed the outside of the bag was pretty dirty with cobwebs and stuff but didn’t think too much of it. We cut open the top of the bag and placed it in a sealed container. Just a few days later, there were maggots underneath the bag in the bottom of the container. We do not have a fly problem in our home and have NEVER had anything like this happen before. Because the bag was in a sealed container, the only explanation we can come up with is that the eggs were already on the bag when we bought it and they hatched after we brought it home. We were extremely grossed out by this, but willing to view it as a one time thing and move past it. However, when we went back to the store to get another bag, it was absolutely covered in spiders, maggots, and other insects. After inspecting the shelf it was on more closely, we saw how disgusting the shelves were. We are not unreasonable people, but there is no excuse for how filthy these shelves were. After bringing it up to the staff, they acknowledged that the bag and shelves were in fact unacceptable, but that they would not be able to give us a refund of any kind, only store credit. It was a Saturday, and they explained that the person who would be able to give us store credit wouldn’t be in until Monday. They took down our information and guaranteed we would receive a call that Monday. We never did.After our experience, we didn’t even want the store credit because we did not want to bring home anything that had been in that store. We would rather drive to Tallahassee or Jacksonville for our dog food than ever buy from this store again.

McKinneys has always been where we buy our dog and cat food. We love supporting local business but more importantly we love the relationship we have grown with the owners. They always have the best advice or recommendations for us. They give us treats for our boy and treat us like family! They have plenty of products for other animals including reptiles and smaller animals. Down to earth people who love your pets like you do!

Good prices and a lot of things to choose from as far as supplies. I am disappointed how the animals are kept. Kitten in a small rabbit cage, 8 rabbits in a fish tank, 4 large ferrets also in a fish tank together. All leopard geckos were malnourished with stuck shed and not a proper set up. Male and females are kept together so you may be sold a mother when you only have space for one. Staff was friendly and store was clean but in my opinion they shouldn't be selling pets and focus on supplies. They have great brands that aren't usually seen in other pet stores.

I have tried multiple times to go to this store but after them having an attitude with me last time I won’t be back (not that they care but you shouldn’t go either) . I tried to nicely explain that the beetles I literally own myself, and many varieties of, are kept in the complete opposite habitat of what they need to be in (or they will die) and after that they were so stank lol. All of their poor spiders are so over fed they can hardly move, and almost all of the tanks are disgusting. Way too many animals in each one too. If you want a healthy animal I suggest you go to a reputable breeder.

Bearded dragons have zero uvb lighting and are housed together (Which is dangerous) Breaks my heart. Was told there is no UVB because they get calcium supplements. No supplements are a sufficient substitute for uvb light, as far as I know, and bearded dragons are solitary creatures and need to be housed separately. Very upsetting, I had to leave.

Used to be the only place I shopped for my pets until today 4/28/2023 I will never step foot in this store agian I was lied to and hung up on by one staff member then left on hold until I hung up waiting to speak to perry. I was told that they test all of their lights before they sale them yet my light was factory sealed in the box. This place is horrible luckily zoomed is great and willing to take care of it however McKinley’s may lose there.zoomed privilege after I told them of the situation. Now I call the aspca and bbb

I always have a great experience here. The owners are very friendly and make sure all my needs are met. I purchased a Sand Boa from them last year, and she has been an awesome addition to my family. They have a great selection of feeder mice as well.

First time in the store great friendly service. Paid $70 for trimmers. Got home in the middle of trimming my dog and trimmers didn’t work. Took them back! No refund they stated only in store credit! So I asked about a different trimmer. They only sell that one! For a pet store come on! Absolutely refused a refund! So I have this in store credit that is for what? Omg so I pleased with this place beyond measure!

It was my first time going but I loved it! The employees definitely know what they're talking about and it makes me feel much better asking them instead of assuming I know about pet stuff when I really don't know all that much. (I only have a cat.) They also have reptiles in the back of the store, fishes, and even a bunny! If you're looking for a place that has a lot of knowledge on animals and you need something very specific, I definitely recommend checking this place out. 😁

Because they repeat what somebody else says that lets me know somebody that works there has been saying it . And when it seen my white friend it said “ WHITE POWER !” 😡😡DO NOT SUPPORT

Numerous selections to choose from. Almost everything my 2 pets have need of. They have wonderful employees. I have an unusual name, yet they remember me by name. They truly care about your needs and will spend all of the time you need to assist you, whether you spend $400.00 or $ 20.00. The issue I have with this company is that they do not allow refunds or store credit. And they do not let their customers know that they’re are no refunds. But they will take it back and keep you money. My son tried to cheer his mom up with a rabbit for my birthday. Because I moved and had to give up my dog that I had for years. Nothing can replace her so I no longer want any more pets. We didn’t Even have the rabbit for 24 hours but my son can not get a refund or store credit. I think they need to tell customers these policies before purchase or Display somewhere that shows their policy of this. That is not fair to people who are given as gift because sometimes people can not replace the love from what they had. I’m am thankful that my son tried to be there for me I feel really bad that he is out of his because of this situation.

I bought a ferret about a month ago and once I got him home he started to act weird . The ferret will occasionally stop in the middle of what ever it does and shake violently and foam at the mouth then get up like nothing happened . Called to ask did they sell me a ferret that has seizures they said no and won’t refund me my money . Very rude as well.

We have visited this location several times and always enjoy the experience. They have a great selection of exotic pets / reptiles, food and supplies. Stephanie was very knowledgeable about the reptiles and their care and was a huge help with our purchases. The owners are helpful and knowledgeable and willing to take as much time to answer any questions that you might have. I like shopping local mom and pop shops anytime I can, Pet Lovers is definitely a local shop where I enjoy spending my money!

Animals are extremely mistreated. All in small glass fish tanks and no proper care displayed WHATSOEVER. They also keep the ferrets in glass tanks which is a HUGE no no. Anyone who has done even the tiniest bit of research on ferrets would know that. The fish all look sick and half dead. Based off of the other comments, a lot of the products are also expired. The disappointing thing is that we used to know the old owners (I don’t know if owners changed.) so that makes it worse. At first sight, they don’t seem like the type of people that would do such a thing to those animals but after looking at the conditions, it’s safe to say that they’re basically neglected. Also, not being able to take pictures is a big red flag. If you catch a photo of the abuse or neglect in action, PLEASE REPORT IT AS ANIMAL ABUSE! I will do everything in my power to get this place shut down and the animals put in a safe, loving home where they belong.

Dirty store with undereducated staff. We used to love coming in here until we bought my bearded dragon, which unfortunately died of unknown causes only a few days after purchasing and they absolutely refused to give us our $80 back. The same thing happened to my cousin. We did everything right, but sadly most of these animals are mistreated and not well cared for, so I really couldn’t say I was shocked. To all my reptile lovers, I beg you to go somewhere else, even PetsMart is better than this trashy, lowlife “pet store.”

Great store. I buy all my ball python supplies here. Friendly staff, good variety of products, reasonable prices and cool pets also. They had a pair of small pigs and ferrets on my last visit. I also go here to buy cheap walnut bedding for brass tumbling media (reloading.) I enjoy going here every 2 weeks.
