Very well laid out store. Very good prices and even had some deals on ammo. The guy in the ammo area today around noon was so helpful and knowledgeable. He helped me find the best deal/brand for the product I was looking for. The man who checked me out was nice and friendly. He didn’t just check me out without saying a word and anyone else I came into contact with on the store or had a question for was also very helpful. I’ll be coming here more often.

I went to purchase TSA approved gun case. The customer service was poor so we left. The shift changed and we returned and dealt with a different sales person and service was great

Used to love Academy Sports to decide to take the AR off the shelf now you can't even look at them I'm not even sure if they carry on my pick and get to the front counter to ask do the people standing in line for some crazy reason it wasn't any special sales it was a Black Friday or so every Monday just for some reason this one was just very crowded this day as unusual and I couldn't get to the counter to ask questions so I ended up buying some ammo and leaving.

I always find really good deals on clearance. Angel was super helpful and helped me find a rain jacket on sale the staff is always friendly.

This is a long rant of issues over 2 days that has caused AS to lose all my business in the future.1. I applied for the credit card to get the $15 off of your first purchase and 5% off all others. I was purchasing a box of ammo for the 15 off and it would give me an error every time. I called customer service and waited 15 mins for the person to tell me there was nothing they could do and to keep refreshing the page and hopefully I wouldnt lose the 15 credit since it had to be used at the same time as opening the card. Well, guess what, I lost the $15.2. I drove an hour to purchase the pistol. The guy gave me the tablet to fill out and apparently, they have a new question on the form thats very confusing, so I checked the wrong box. The guy told me that now he couldnt sell me a firearm at academy for 31 days.... but I can go anywhere else and purchase it still. Then he says, You would be surprised at how often people mark that question wrong.... Really, well maybe you shouldnt give the customer the tablet and walk away.... I told the guy 1 drove an hour, each way, to get the gun and he just shrugged his shoulders....I left, went to my local dealer, who gave me 10% off, made sure I filled out the form correctly and I had my firearm in about 4 minutes. The customer service I received at academy was a joke. 2 hours of driving, $15 in gas and a few points on my credit score for absolutely nothing. Now to cancel this stupid credit card.

Nice store but they a line for just returning and exchangers ! Standing in line for 20 minutes to ask to exchange something and then go find it and coming back to stand in line again to make the exchange,is for the birds! And cashier @ Valdosta GA, have not been trained very well!

Stated they would ship an item back to the manufacturer on my behalf as a "service." After not hearing anything for a month, I contacted the manufacturer to find that they had literally just received my item. If I knew Academy would sit on it for a month, I would have shipped it myself.

Clean with a large inventory available. Prices are tolerable and sometimes you can find a bargain or two. Little slow to open a second register although half a dozen customers in line, but eventually they did .

No Ammo? How is that possible. Is store a democratic ownership, bet support is for the blue!!!! Ask the manager when next shipment was and she didn't even try to find out, I ask what would be on it and she said you will just have to check back!!!! Sad in my opinion 😪

Ordered 2 pair of work shoes online. Picked up got home and 1 pair was used and even still had animal feces on them. Very upset! I live 30 miles away from Norman Drive in Valdosta and I brought home a pair of used shoes!

Checkout was ridiculously slow. Got a pool toy off the 25% off shelf and it rang up regular price. Employee refused to acknowledge this even though I mentioned it several times. Ended up leaving my items behind because they were unable to run my card as a credit card even though no other place has issues. Employee insisted it was because it was a gift card even though I stated multiple times that it wasn’t and it was a pay card from my employer that can be run as either debit or credit at any other location. Completely unhelpful staff.

🌞Still wearing my great shoes I got there while visiting my son who is stationed at Moody Air Force Base.I live in California and there are no Academy Sports out here so good thing we're moving out of the state soon hahaha 🌴🤓The prices were great, the store was super clean, even the bathrooms. It's large enough to have different things that you need but not overwhelmingly so.Good customer service *most* of the people in there were welcoming. 🦋 Will be back in a couple of months.

Store is great but the return process and associate that met us at the door is Ridiculous. As soon as we came in door greeter ask if we had return or exchange. Return.He takes it to service desk and then tells us to get in line. Which line, the checkout line? (Which has over 20+ people in it). Yes.Why? Why couldn't we just go to the DEDICATED SERVICE DESK that our bag went to that had an associate at it?

In most cases they have the items not found at other stores in area. Prices are good with sale items even better. They don't increase pricing so they can reduce for sale. Still an excellent place to shop for sporting products at reasonable prices.
