What an absolute gem! Don't be fooled. This may be a bar but the food doesn't taste like bar food. It's much better!We were walking back from the beach and saw a sign for their taco special so we stopped in.We split the HUGE 2 taco + chips & salsa platter and also split the spinach artichoke dip with pretzels. Everything was delicious.The tacos were surprisingly quite large and full of flavor! Chicken, red onion, corn, cheese, and Chipotle mayo. They could not have been better. The salsa was Mexican restaurant quality.The spinach dip was so creamy and flavorful. We got way more pretzel bites than I anticipated. This was a great appetizer!We had a very poor restaurant meal the night before so this was much needed and appreciated!Reasonable prices, large portions, friendly service, fun decor/atmosphere.10/10.....I would visit again and again!

Didn’t try the food.Had well whiskey and Budweiser. Great atmosphere :) a locals bar so no annoying tourists lolWas given no issues about having a large service dog - he was offered his own water :)Bar tender was amazing! Thank you again !

Tybee Island, Georgia ---"Wind Rose Cafe" is a winner of "best lunch" award & their meat loaf special was okay ...mashed potatoes with picket of gravy was not hot (but not cold 😉), but the quantity of lima beans & mini meat loaf were quite filling ...PLUS the side of toasted bread was deviously crunchy & tasty ... only $8.25the bartender was delightfully personable with the customers, whether at bar, ordering on the phone ir sitting at a table ...their sign apparently blew down in a storm, so you gotta know where it's located ..."Wind Rose" sponsors the annual "bartender olympics" each February ...The “Wind Rose” is my favorite pARTy Stop for food, service & interactive customers."Run-A-Way Bill" was here!bar 101 "666 Bars of 2017"day 012 "DUSA 2017" (Discover USA)#RunAwayBill #666BarsUSA #DUSA201701.10.21

I looked at the reviews and that's why I chose to order from this restaurant while on vacation. The people that wrote the reviews must never tasted good food because it was the worst I've tasted and seen and must be drunk and trying to just put food on their stomach to not feel sick while drinking. Do put any false reviews to support your friends. If I was a local I would've know better. The fries were skinny and almost cold, I got sweet potato fries it was a mystery teriyaki tasting sauce on them which I never asked for any sauce. The fish wasn't fried hard enough the only thing was alright was probably the chicken tenders, the friend calamari/clams was so small like it was the crumbs out of the bottom of the bag.

My husband and I went there just for a drink we just ate, seen there special was T-bones so we came back next day was one of the best steaks we’d ever had the coleslaw was one of a kind. The bartenders was great both days. If we’re ever back this way, it will definitely be a stop for us. Thanks to the employees it was a wonderful experience.

If you want amazing food and a great atmosphere, look no further! The Windrose is my favorite spot on the island. I love the food and the staff. Every time I come in I’m greeted like family. The wings are some of the best I’ve ever had! The owners are some of the best people you’ll ever meet. If you are visiting Tybee, you have to check this place out. You won’t regret it!

But the best was the bartenders, always happy and polite, and the people that hang there were great company! I recommend Windrose to everyone! I come back here again and again. See you there!

I absolutely love this bar and the employees. Patti is very welcoming and each time we come here we fall more in love with this bar! We have tried other bars on Tybee but nothing compares to Windrose Bar & Grill. If you want a good place to just chill and let all your worries out… you will absolutely love it here. It only took once for Patti to remember our names and faces!

Had the Mushroom Swiss Burger, it was awesome and cooked to perfection. My wife had the chef’s salad, she was also very pleased.We visit Tybee often and this was our first to the Windrose and we will definitely be back.They even have bingo on Wednesday night which is a great time.Cheap fun, reasonable prices and looks like a great local hangout.

Great atmosphere and not tourist heavy. Drinks are very reasonably priced and well made and so is the food! Music is good and Patty is easily my favorite bartender on the whole Island. It's one of the places I always have to stop by if I'm in the area.

Went island walking , found the coolest bar , “The Windrose cafe”, couldn’t have had more fun with some of the best people. Bartender ( Sydney ) and the owners, Jeff and Jessica went out of their way to make our group feel like locals. Never had a better fish taco in my life. Well done crew. Thanks so much. We will be back soon !

Call me bias because I am a local but this bar is an island staple and has come so far! From the food, to the decor, ambiance, & people that run this place. If you are expecting fine dining service standards then no this is not your place, but if you are as real & awesome as 99% of the people that consume this place, then it will most definitely become one of your fav Tybee spots to hang! Walking distance to the beach and all the other bars is also a big bonus!!

Us lowly out of towners looking for some enjoyable decent bar munchies or food N some Vino & Cocktails...stumbled upon Windrose. Well lemme tell ya Ariel took great care of us...all the while she had to deal with the whole bar.."A Keeper."..Ray Ray made us some awesome munchies. Overall... Awesome local drop in kinda place. After traveling to multiple places in the past few months I can definitely say that this is the worst dining and service experience I’ve had. I was on a trip to Georgia to surprise one of my old college friends last week and I looked up nearby restaurants, I liked what Windrose had on the menu and ordered my usual- the Chef salad. I used to work in a restaurant so I understand that the staff are typically overworked and underpaid, so I chose to ignore the fact that it took over 45 minutes for the salad to come out. I was starving after my flights and started eating quickly but after a couple of minutes I felt unappetized and stopped eating. I had this weird aftertaste in my mouth as if something was rotting in the salad. This was around 8:30 pm, I went back to my hotel and woke up at around 3, I was vomiting every 15 minutes not knowing how to deal with this being alone and away from home. I felt like my soul was coming out of my body. I have never once gotten food poisoning and I looked up all of my symptoms, which convinced me that this is what I had. When I called the restaurant to let them know what I ate and what happened, I kept getting re-directed to different staff and managers, with the bare minimum apology and no accountability. The staff was extremely cold and rude on the phone, completely not caring about the situation. This happened to my dad years ago at another restaurant and he ended up in the hospital due to dehydration. I basically paid $12 to get food poisoning and ultimately ruin my short trip, I never write reviews but this really needs to be addressed.

Loved it! This is an awesome atmosphere where you could talk and be heard, and it was such a chill vibe. Met the amazing bartender, Kenny, who connected immediately with my son. I discovered we had teaching in common, and I could have sat there all night. I witnessed such tenderness from the staff when a sweet lady had a crisis, and I was proud to be able to offer my female assistance. I even went back later in the night. This is definitely my kind of place, and I can’t wait to go back.

Best place to venture to on Tybee. Whether you are looking for a good drink in a cozy local atmosphere or a delicious meal, Windrose will have it for you. The daily lunch specials are phenomenal and their varied menu has so much variety that anyone could find something to enjoy. If you want to meet tourists, or hear some old Tybee stories from some of the locals, you will never be disappointed, Windrose has it all.

Among all local bars on the island, Windrose is one of my favs. When we have family in town, we always make it one of our stops!
