Stopped here for late lunch. Kate was our server. She was very attentive and gave us recommendations. I had a Bloody Mary ... it was okay. I had the crab chowder which was delicious. My son had fish (grouper) and chips (crispy fresh fries) both were great. My other son had fish tacos...another great choice. Loved the vibe. Floors were sticky and the fans seemed like they were going to come off of the ceiling, however would still come here again. It was too cold and windy so we couldn't sit outside. I would say stop here!

Takeout has a mandatory 15% gratuity. And prices aren’t listed anywhere which is frustrating. So here’s ours (pre tax and mandatory gratuity).Crab cakes $27Steamed seafood platter for 2 $70Gumbo soup $12Corn on the cob (half cob) $5Kids fish $10.So all and all with the mandatory tip we spent $175 for 4 people. The food was good, but it is very expensive and I’m not a fan of hidden mandatory fees like that.If you do takeout they pre crack some, but not all of the shells for you so you’ll want to have some tools or at least a real fork on hand to help you eat it.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu

One of the best places to eat on Tybee. It's friendly staff and laid-back atmosphere were perfect after a day at the beach. Great seafood. The peel and eat shrimp were full-size and cooked perfectly. The dungeoness crab legs were the best. The rest of us had the crab and lobster bisque, crab cake sandwich, crab fritters and Buffalo shrimp, and flounder dinner.

We visited Sting Rays on a very busy day. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated and were seated inside. Not anybodys fault, they have to put people where seating is available, but if you have a choice, wait for outside seating. The entire staff seemed stressed, but were getting it done. Our server was especially nice and did his very best. I have seen several reviews of this place pointing out poor service but that was not the case. It took some time to get our food, close to 45 minutes, but we just drank cold beer while waiting. Our food all came out together. Low Country Boil, Crab Legs, Oysters, Shrimp Dinner, Seared Tuna Steak and chicken fingers. All of the steamed food was flavorful, just overcooked. It was a battle to peel the shrimp and pull meat from the crab legs. The ends of the chicken fingers were inedible, you could not chew them. That being said, friends at our condo had a different experience later in the week. The food was great and easy to peel seafood. We will return on a future visit because I believe in second chances, and they were so close to being great. On a side note, there is a small bathroom that shares a door with the kitchen. When management needs to address issues with staff, you may want to tone it down a notch knowing that customers can hear through that door. There is no need to berate employees in that manner, they are more than likely doing their best in a high stress environment. That restroom is most likely the one everyone has complaints about. The other is much nicer.

Inside or outside seating. We ate inside. It was on Sunday and it wasn’t that busy around 5:30. We had the seafood platter and grilled shrimp tacos. ($50/$19). Food was good. Plenty of tvs to watch games. Service was good. It took a few minutes to be helped once we were seated but she did continue to check on us after we ordered. Would go again for a quick bite.

When we are in Tybee Island we typically will come by stingrays. The seafood is usually good. The fish, I don't even know what kind it was but it was so soft and good. All of the food was pretty good actually, the shrimp or fried well, the crab cakes were good but I could stand for a little less filler or breading and more crab but then again maybe if that ratio was off it would not fry as well, I don't know lol. If you sit inside where the bar is you can tell it is a watering hole, in other words it is a local spot that is loved by locals and visitors alike. You could see the report between the bartender and the customers as well as some of the servers and the customers at the bar. It's nothing fancy but it is comfortable local food in a comfortable local restaurant. If you're in the area and you like seafood you may want to give it a try. Will be back again.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly

This place was such a let down. The alligator strips which by the way were nuggets…were too tough to eat… I was shocked when I received my $50 seafood platter…the plate looked so horrible that I refused to eat or pay for the meal… my son ate scallops.. he liked them… I didn’t… I would not step foot back in this restaurant… even though I didn’t eat my food… my son was still at the table… the waitress never bothered to return to our table even though she checked on the patrons all around us…we didn’t get service… so she didn’t get a tip… I would never return to this basic restaurant… they over charge for food and then you have to eat with plastic ware… not even the good kind… save your money… eat somewhere else’!!!

It pains me to write this, because the seafood is good, yes, but price is way too high even in this market. However, my main gripe is the $9.95! *1/2* piece of key lime pie we received in a takeaway order. We check orders often during takeaway, this time did not until off the island and home. Seafood is expensive, however that felt criminal.

Crab cakes sandwich lacks seasoning, the bun absorbed the dill sauce & mayo. Multiple servers loudly made it known to the diners completing their meals to GTFO. In their defense it was after 10:15 but I paid $128 for that dinner and left a $30 tip. We are on vacation celebrating our anniversary and we were going to get key lime pie for dessert but we were just brought the check and got the bums rush. No one even said good night on the way out. The French fries were the bomb though so whoever the fry cook is , rock on bro.

This place is essentially a glorified fast food experience. If you get anything other than sea food (that you can get cheaper at the same price down the road) you are essentially asking for freezer burnt or generic unseasoned food. We got seated immediately but waited 15 minutes for our appetizer and almost another 20 for our actual food (we came at 1:15 for reference and it wasn't particularly busy.) The waitress never refilled drinks and only checked on us once. It is incredibly overpriced compared to other, equally good restaurants in the area. You sit at picnic tables if you get seated outside you eat off of cheap, plastic utensils. Definitely don't know where the money goes. Save your time and go to more local, homey, and cost effective food establishments.

We visited on yesterday which was July 2nd and it was not overly crowded. We ordered the calamari, stingray burger, 1/2 crawfish/1/2 crab legs and raw oysters. I had a Hurricane but it needed more of a punch to it. I was very disappointed that my crawfish were not fresh but they did not taste too frozen either. The fries were delicious and I had two helpings. It was a quick bite away from the beach and the service was good.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The Ahi Tuna (13 pieces) and the coconut shrimp (8 pieces) appetizers are phenomenal. And the tropical sauce for the coconut shrimp is amazing!!! The soft shell crab dinner is very good, the Stingray platter is massive and has plenty of variety. Everything is seasoned very very well. Nothing we ordered tasted "plain" and all items were hot and fresh.A little bit of a wait to be seated, but that's to be expected for the quality of food. We waited about 45 minutes to be seated on a Friday night around 8 p.m. Definitely not a bad wait time at all for an island restaurant on a weekend night. The live music was a bonus and very enjoyable and not at all intrusive that you couldn't hold a conversation comfortably.

What a great place for seafood!! We stopped off here based on a local recommendation as the best seafood on Tybee Island and it did not disappoint! We ordered a huge platter of crab, shrimp, sausage, and potatoes for two people and it easily fed four adults with some to spare. Great outdoor atmosphere and good service. Highly recommended!

Had a long wait for dinner, so I opted for takeout instead. I waited a long time for takeout at the bar, then they charged me an extra "take-out fee".... that earned zero tip from me... no way will I be ordering here again if they're going to charge you extra just because you don't want to wait for a table. You want a tip?, don't make up stupid fees to squeeze your customers. You want to tip your staff? give them the "take-out fee" you charged me.

We went here for lunch on our vacation as we were looking for good oysters. The food was good but not great! We sat at the bar as we like to watch sports and have drinks as we eat. The bartender was awful never cracked a smile at us, we had to ask for everything! She had too many tables and I'm sure never cracked a smile at them either. We went Thursday April 4th at 12:00. The bartender with dark hair pulled in a messy bun missed out on a great tip. We did leave something but she really didn't deserve that. Train your wait staff so when they see customers coming it means more on their paycheck. Awful attitude!

Had fried coconut shrimp with a coconut dipping sauce that was to die for. Crab legs were good and had a buttery, paprika topping which was flavorful but didn't get inside the crab and was very messy. But when licking it off my fingers, was tasty. 😀You kind of expect a mess with crab legs but it was extra.....I went with it, others stopped (more for me). Mahimahi was really good. Only suggestion is to lighten up the outside sauce on crab legs and serve with metal forks big and little. The little 😺 😸 were friendly and good greeters. Music was real good, too!Kid-friendliness: Very friendly to the kids ours and others was observed. Very friendly team. Have corndogs that kids liked!

The place was so loud you couldn’t even hear to talk. I would say definitely request an outside table. The food was extremely bland and expensive for what you get. I got the blackened mahi sandwich and it did not have any flavor. My aunt got the shrimp po boy and same. The kids got chicken tenders and fries. It was $8.95 for two tenders and some fries with two small hush puppies. The chicken was very overcooked and lacked flavor. The low country boil was bland also and more expensive than other places we have had. The waitress did a good job but that’s all we would say. Go to Savannah seafood shack.
