What a great little spot hubby and I came across on Tybee Island. We visited on a Friday evening after work. We were greeted as we walked in and seated promptly. Our server was attentive and had excellent recommendations. We started with the Frito Misto. It was delicious š we also had the grilled shrimp with pickled watermelon salad (my favorite) and hubby had the AYE flounder and added shrimp. We were thoroughly pleased with our menu selections and the service. We will visit again.

The perfect antidote to fried fish, shrimp and oyster baskets! The menu is creative and the food is tasty. I had peel and eat (local) shrimp and my wife had the Tuna poke bowl. Lots of great beer and cocktail choices. Great choice if you're looking for seafood with an upscale twist from typical beach fare.Vegetarian options: Limited, mostly pescatarian.

Got a recommendation from a local that said this was his favorite place to eat on the island, so we had to try it. He was so right. The only disappointment was that we found it on our last day. We would've eaten there daily. Our choice was the "build your own" menu. All four of us chose shrimp but fixed different ways. I chose garlic pepper with the watermelon sald. OMG! The shrimp was fresh and huge, and the salad was crunchy and slightly sweet with pickled bites of watermelon rind. I could eat that salad every day. I'm in love ā¤ļø and can't wait to go back next year when we visit again.

My husband and I love to visit Tybee Island and our favorite restaurant there is Salt Island! The drinks are always great and the food is absolutely incredible. In our last visit, we got the oysters on a half shell that were out of this world! I had the Kalua Pig and he had the fish tacos. The food is fresh and perfectly prepared. The menu items are different than most other places and the service is impeccable.

A great find! I picked the place because of previous reviews and I'm glad I did. Had both the peel and eat shrimp (super fresh) and the crab Poutine (interesting but still damn good). A good selection of craft beer and wines....good enough anyone can find something good! The service was very good and attentive. The atmosphere is excellent....it's got a ...'calm', feeling about it. Soft colours, beachside vibe....but very clean. If I was here longer, I would go again.

Delicious. Had the freshly caught Red Drum fish over a bowl of grits and brussel sprouts. We thought the beer cheese hush puppies would have beer cheese to dip it in, or covered, but I think maybe the batter had beer cheese? The pepper jam was good. We had great service and we loved the decor/atmosphere. The family loved the key lime pie. We'd come back to try the other options too.

We had a party of 11 and we accommodated extremely quickly! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Food choices were amazing and then they shared the specials! Everyone, ages 5-60, was able to find something delicious to try. Staff consistently checked in and created a wonderful experience. Definitely recommend... especially if you are into craft beers and oysters! Selection is outstanding.Kid-friendliness: We had a 5, 8, 11, 12, and 15 year old with us. They provided kids menus and crayons and were very friendly to all.

A fun trendy place in Tybee island. Has the feel of an open bar on the beach filled with locals, which it was. It has a mix of meat and seafood, plus items like ramen soups. We had the blue crab and beer ale poutine fries, some raw oysters, and our favorite for the meal; the buffalo blue cheese bacon orysters. The house made cocktail sauce is very good. Definitely worth checking out if you want something different from more traditional seafood. š

Absolutely delicious seafood! I had the Fisherman's Stew and a Rum's the Word cocktail. My husband had a fried shrimp platter and a few different beers. He was really impressed with the large selection of beer! I'm not a big beer drinker but he says he highly recommends this place if you're looking for somewhere fun and casual to have a beer and relax. I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. It made me feel very relaxed and calm while I enjoyed my stew. Great place to hang out while you're visiting Tybee Island!

Nice little restaurant in a very busy touristy area. Limited menu and only dessert was Key Lime pie. Blackened local fish (striped bass) fries was excellent. Small lunch portion. Fries were good but salty. Breaded fried shrimp was also tasty not overly spiced. Our server was brilliant. Bubbly and attentive. Parking is tight in this area with most being metered.

We arrived at Tybee Island close to closing for the Salt Island Fish and Beer but we had no problem getting a table. Even at 9pm on a Saturday night, they were pretty busy. Our server said they had only one special left, fresh caught Georgia shrimp served boiled peel and eat with fries. How are you going to pass on fresh peel and eat shrimp?! I ordered that and my wife ordered the fried grouper sandwich. We were both happy with our selections. The shrimp were fantastic. The fried grouper sandwich was also great and not greasy at all. The watermark for us was that we both agreed that we would order our entrees again. The fries here were very good - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Our server, although she was busy, was very attentive and friendly. There is a playful vibe and a very laid back beach decor in the restaurant. Itās really bright and light colored and very inviting. All in all. we really enjoyed our dinner at Salt Island!

Very disappointing. All the other restaurants on the island were packed but we were able to get seating and there were empty tables available says a lot on Motherās Day. The crab soup was very disappointing, extremely watery and lacked taste. The fried shrimp tasted of cooked cocktail shrimp heavily battered and not seasoned well at all. Didnāt taste like fresh shrimp at all. The drinks were not good either. I had the blueberry hill. I do not recommend

I recently had the pleasure of finding Salt Island Fish and Beer while out on a walk and I am so glad I did. The food was absolutely delicious - every bite was packed with flavor and made with fresh ingredients. I had the fish and grits which were cooked to perfection, flaky and light, yet still with a flavorful crunchy coating. The beers were also excellent, each one carefully crafted with its own unique flavor profile. The service was also top-notch; friendly and attentive staff made me feel right at home as they answered my questions in detail without being pushy or rushed. They went out of their way to make sure that my dining experience was perfect from start to finish.I highly recommend visiting Salt Island Fish and Beer if you're in the area - it's easy to find, has great atmosphere, wonderful food, and even better service! It's definitely one of those gems that you don't want to miss out on!

10/10 AMAZING experience! We were in Tybee Island for my momās 50th birthday trip and decided to go to Salt Island for her birthday dinner with a large group of 10. We had no problem getting seated together even though we couldnāt make reservations, we went around 5pm. Our waitress (Laila) was SO nice and attentive! We had a shellfish allergy in the group and our waitress constantly reassured us that she remembered the allergy and was making sure the food was prepared safely. Everyoneās food and drinks were fresh and delicious. Our group especially enjoyed the grouper, kalua pork, fried rice, and grits. Salad apps looked fantastic, and the brussel sprouts were good if you enjoy blue cheese. It was the perfect spot for her birthday dinner and we will definitely return if we are ever in Tybee again!

Great Food!!!! We had a nice mix of seafood dishes and Roasted pig. We had fantastic friendly staff. We especially loved the shrimp on the poboy but the roll was ciabatta and a big too bready. Fried oysters and pickles was amazing. Roasted pork dish was enjoyable but not what I expected, it had more of an Asian twist that a bbq dish. Just make sure you ask what is in it first. Ice cold beer too. Definitely a big step above tourist food.

Salt Island was recommended by a friend as we had been disappointed by other Tybee eateries. The food and service did not disappoint. Friendly efficient hostess and waitress. My husband and I had amazing fish including grouper with garlic cream sauce and fried flounder. The cheese grits with hot sauce was delicious! On a side note, we returned to our condo after dinner and I was shocked to discover my diamond had fallen out of my wedding ring that I've worn for 26 years. My daughter immediately called the restaurant and within minutes we received a call back from the sweet hostess saying she had found my diamond on the floor under the table where we had been sitting. I will be forever grateful for her kind, prompt response to our request for help!We will recommend this place to our friends!

Excellent food and service. A nice surprise on Tybee. I got all small plates/starters. Great way to try different things. I will return for more.Ate outside on the front deck. Half dozen St. Johnās River oysters and a half dozen Canadian oysters. Both were very fresh. No need for the cocktail sauce or horseradish, although they were good.Beer Cheese Hushpuppies were great. The sweetness of the bacon tomato jam cuts through these hot savory bites. Really nice. The mussels in red curry broth were delicious. Recommended by my server, Leslie. He was right. Ask for some extra bread for the broth. But you could drink it like soup.

Was on Tybee Island having a look around when we got very hungry. Drove by on our way in so on the way out we stopped for a late lunch. Was promptly seated and ordered our drinks. The drinks arrived and we ordered our meals: fried shrimp basket, brisket grilled cheese and a fried fish sandwich. The food came quickly and tasted great! The staff was friendly and very helpful. If you are out on Tybee and get hungry, stop in and have a bite, it will be great.

š„ FIREāwhen I walked in and saw the multicolor beer fridge I figured the food would be good; and it was great! The owner is the chef and isnāt letting anything subpar out of that kitchen. We had the beer cheese hush puppies, the banh mi, and the (off-menu) peel and eat shrimp. We sat in the bartenderās section and he was amazing! Great food, great service; plus the food is super approachable if youāve got some more basic friends that donāt want to get into anything too wild. Itās great, easily worth the stop!
