The only thing good about Hotel Tybee is the view. I understand that costs more. Peeling paint, dirty floors and unexpected expenses are what you get. We were not advised in advance for an $81.00 amenities fee, which ridiculously covers all the things you get with most any motel. Towels, coffee pot, wifi, microwave, etc. and the view, which we had already dearly paid for. I used to love this motel. Not anymore. Things are looking run down. The staff is very nice. That's about it. Not worth the price anymore. When you get a spa for an amenity, I will gladly pay the higher price.

We had a great stay at Hotel Tybee. The staff was really great and made check-in a breeze. The location is wonderful - in the heart of the downtown Tybee area. We could walk to multiple shops, restaurants, and the large public pier. Also loved the extras like being able to use their bikes. Located right in front of the beach, could not be more convenient!

We love staying at Hotel Tybee anytime we come to Savannah. The views alone are worth it. Our bed was very comfortable and the hot water pressure was lovely. Tonya, the girl that checked us in and out, was very sweet and had lots of great recommendations for things to do around town. We really enjoy our trips to the beach and can't wait to come back.

Hi I had a great time. My room was clean and newly renovated. The balcony was a great touch to a direct view to sit and watch the sunrise and sunset from my room. The staff was awesome! I’m looking forward to returning soon.Rooms: Newly renovated

Great stay, my family really liked it here! We spent many days on the beach, walking around to different shops and restaurants, it was very relaxing. We could walk everywhere which was very nice after driving over 17 hours down to Georgia! The fishing off the pier was actually really good, we spent a couple of different days doing this while my wife sat on the beach and read. It was the best of both worlds. The rooms were clean, the staff was good, and the location couldn't have been better. Would recommend staying here if you're vacationing in Tybee with your family. We'll definitely be back!

Large comfortable clean room with standard size bathroom. Nice view of the ocean. We had a pleasant stay and everything we needed was provided. The ballroom was very nice and accommodated our large group. The Motel is dated and could use some exterior upgrades. More lighting in the front parking area would be advisable for safety purposes.

We really enjoyed our vacation on Tybee Island! The hotel has a great location, we could walk right to the beach, some really good restaurants downtown, and some great shopping! I loved that we could walk just about anywhere. And my husband and boys could fish right off the Tybee pier, which they loved. The service is great here, the staff is wonderful. And the view of the ocean from the rooms is worth every penny. Would definitely recommend staying here when you’re visiting Tybee!Nearby activities: You can walk to so many places in downtown Tybee right from the hotel, including the pier and the beach!Walkability: Great location to watch everywhere!

I recently stayed at Hotel Tybee while attending a wedding and it exceeded my expectations.Loved my room- it was beautiful, modern, comfortable and the ocean view was nothing short of breathtaking… especially at sunrise! The staff's friendliness added to the overall positive experience. Attending my brother's wedding in the hotel's attached facility was a remarkable affair. The massive windows spanning three floors provided a stunning backdrop, creating a perfect setting for a wedding. My morning beach walks, dips in the pool, and exploration of the charming downtown with one of the free available bikes added to a wonderful experience. If you're looking for a peaceful beach retreat or beautiful wedding venue, Hotel Tybee delivers with its amazing views and inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend.

Location is perfect for walking to the pier, restaurants and shopping. We watched the moon rise from our balcony and walked out to the beach for beautiful sunrises.

Hotel Tybee is the perfect place for a family vacation directly on the beach. We are so close to the pier, local restaurants and shops. My wife loves this place. The property is well maintained and they seem to be doing a lot of upgrades to the amenities. The desk staff have been so nice. Tonya at the front desk has the best personality and answered all of my questions for recommendations on food.Rooms: I love the fact that there is no carpet in the rooms. They even left me a little broom in the closet for the beach sand.Walkability: We are able to walk to restaurants and shops.

Staff was friendly and the location of this hotel can’t be beat. Beach is within walking distance, sunrise from your own room can be had at an upgraded fee, and nearby shops and restaurants are also within walking to a bike ride distance. The main issue with this hotel is cleanliness. The floors were filthy, the ceilings had black patches of what could’ve either been dirt or mold, the beach chairs were rusty and un operable, hinges of doors and other metals on furniture were also rusted. This made for a haunting stay. Why did I stay? Checked in at 3:30pm and the option of staying somewhere else by then were slim plus thankfully the bedding was clean and so were the bathroom shower and towels. The only good part of our stay was being able to enjoy the beach that afternoon with my toddler and again seeing the sunrise in the morning. Otherwise, while in the room I had him play on the bed and wear shoes to walk around the room.Nearby activities: Beach, small local short and souvenir shops, and restaurants. The Lighthouse is a must during or after your stay.Safety: The hotel felt unsafe. There were one or two broken down cars in the hotel parking lot. Also, there’s a public parking lot between the hotel and the beach which add opportunity of being mugged. The hotel had one working elevator and was due for inspection April 2023.Noteworthy details: Don’t stay here unless you must. If you can plan ahead first make sure the hotel has gone through proper renovations.

Room quality varies greatly. Staff was polite and professional. I had a grimy room in the first floor and asked to be moved. They graciously moved me to the top floor, it was much cleaner, but I still ended choosing to mop the floor with supplies I purchased at the local IGA.

While reading some of these reviews I was surprised to see so many 5s. It made me wonder if these are paid because I don’t see how it’s getting that high of a rating. The pictures only are deceiving. The location needs a lot of renovation. And maybe less marijuana and cigarette smoke in the hallways. The receptionist who checked us in had seemingly minor to no personality. I would not recommend this hotel at this point and time. Maybe if someone came in and dropped several million for renovations and updates. Or even something small, like a breakfast snack bar or coffee lounge on site. Coffee provided in the room was not of a good quality. More I could share but that would just be beating a dead horse. One photo added to show some of the deformation going on.

Don’t bother calling Front Desk for ANYTHING! Not to mention it’s not even attached to the same building. I called for extra towels, couldn’t get them because staff was gone. Lady at Front Desk suggested I drive to the Front Desk and pick up some more towels SMH. Stayed 2 nights and cleaning staff never checked to see if we needed anything. This is a ran-down hotel, rust & holes EVERYWHERE! Oh, let’s discuss how on the 2nd night THE WATER WAS SHUT OFF WITHOUT NOTICE!! Besides the proximity to the Ocean, this hotel SUCKS!

Worst hotel I have stayed in.Staff called the police on me because I was standing outside smoking a cigar for less hour. The Police told me that they were called because had been told by the staff I was bothering other customers and causing issue. That was straight up a lie because I while was smoking in a smoking area I did not talk to anyone. The Police handle this issue very well and took great care of me. They verified my story and who I was and released me to enjoy rest of my night.I could go on but I’m not going to waste any more time. I have honestly never been anywhere and met such rude two-faced staff. If you are not majorly bothered by the cleanliness of your room and want a cheap place to lay down, like to stay in the hotel all day + night this is the place for you. However, if you are more the adventurous type, care about cleanliness, like to eat out and explore the island without feeling you’re being monitored DO NOT STAY.

Disappointing and disgusting. I’ll try to list everything but in a nutshell, the room was so overall nasty that I never even changed out of my clothes and couldn’t wait for morning to come to get out of there. (And we are pretty laid back folks) The room was so run down and dirty. One nightstand lamp didn’t work and the other one could barely stand on its own, the coffee maker didn’t work, the shampoo bottle in the shower was empty (didn’t discover that until I was already in the shower!) , the floor was sticky and filthy. (I have photos below of the bottom of my brand new white socks) The phone I used to call for a different coffee pot was sticky and gross. I was told a new pot would be brought up by an “engineer” in 15 minutes but no one ever came.I did let the front desk staff know all this when we checked out and we were refunded the resort fee. We were told we “never should have been put in the room we were”. Not very comforting.Check out the outlet photo below as an example of how dirty and sticky everything was. Something black seemed to be growing along the edges of the ceiling and I don’t think I even want to know what that could have been.

I can't really comment on the rooms, but the service is great. My in-laws were staying here, and we wanted to send something to the room for my mother-in-law, since it was her birthday. When I called the hotel, Donna mentioned that it was the hotel's off-season, and they were not fully staffed. Despite that, Donna went above and beyond to make something happen for us. Donna was very dedicated to making my mother-in-law's birthday and stay special. My in-laws mentioned that the location of the hotel was great. If planning a trip to Tybee, I would definitely consider booking here.

For the price and location, this isn’t a bad deal. Came here to watch the Savannah bananas, so the hotel was secondary to us. The location close to the beach makes it appealing. It’s a bit dated as a hotel and there isn’t a lot in ways of amenities. One of the two elevators was out of service. Overall fairly reasonable. Would not run back, but wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Great location for kids and families.Rooms: Standard 2 Queen room. Beds were standard spring.Overall, relatively clean, bathroom was okay-ish, shower could have used some updating.Walkability: There is a parking lot between you and the beach. I can imagine in the summer it being fairly crowded. A couple of restaurants within a mile radius.

Place could be excellent with some easy TLC. Needs updating an a good scrubbing. The beds need replaced. Head is lower than feet, sunk in. Bathroom need cleaning an repainted is nothing else. Furniture old an dilapidated. Well past its prime use. But located a short walk from beach, pier an walking distance for restaurants an shopping.

The only good thing about the place is the distance to the beach! I would never stay here again! I literally slept on top of the covers with my personal beach towel. I checked in at 4pm and I checked out at 4am. I took my kids to the beach...took a nap and drove back home. This place is overpriced and underwhelming. They charge a additional $40 to park which is bogus bc the entire place is ran down and dated. The outdoor tiki bar is closed and the entire hotel is under renovation or just poorly maintained. This was the worst way to spend $300 for one night. The pics online are false. STAY AWAY.Also I asked to be moved to a different room...only for all the issues to be the same. Save your money and time. Don't go!

It is easy check in and check out. View was great. I did not like cleanliness. Shower was not running. Fridge was not working properly and freezing our veggies. I did not like smell of public restroom when you sit on balcony.

Worst hotel I have stayed in a long time. Dirty everywhere, our shower didn’t work and the maintenance guy was taking forever to come work on it so we had to switch rooms. That room was even worse. The phone wouldn’t work, the shower barely worked, everything seemed disgusting. Definitely did not see any “new” renovations being done. The beach view was a parking lot view. This hotel looked like a dump, would not recommend to anyone.Rooms: Disgusting, nothing worked, completely outdated
