Locally owned! And a seafood co-op next door! Local Seafood including shrimp which most restaurants in Savannah don’t buy unfortunately. Good basic delicious food that continues to get creative additions like the recently added Savannah Bee Company Hot Honey sauce for shrimp. Btw seafood gumbo in the pic- look at that perfect brown roux base; a treasure to find on any menu. Enjoy, indulge, and invest in local by tipping well so they know we appreciate them and love this place!

The setting of Bubba Gumbo's is right on the water. We love sitting outside on the dock and looking out at the marsh and the boats. If you want a water side setting that is authentic, this is your place. Off season is the best, because it's not packed. Our food and our service was excellent, with the food coming of fast and fresh. Hush puppies came out hot and fluffy inside and crispy outside, with delicious honey butter. Their shrimp is fresh and local and is outstanding. We had a 1/2 lb of steamed shrimp and the midly spicy and butterfy seasoning was delicious. The crab sandwich is fresh and not overly bready with just the right amount of crab meat. Drinks were great, with a good selection of micro-brews. Our server was probably one of the best we've experienced, she was pleasant and always there to make sure we were satisfied. If you want to be on the water and have local seafood this is a great choice. Go now, while it's quieter.Parking: Parking is a sandy lot and requires a little bit of navigation.

Full five stars all around! The energy of the place felt authentic and it wasn’t overly packed. The food was absolutely incredible and not unreasonable given the quality of the food. I got the catch of the day (Golden Tile) with two sides and my family members got the po’ boy, hot honey shrimp, mahi mahi tacos, blackened mahi mahi and shrimp and grits. Everyone was extremely happy with their meal! We’re from Toronto so we’d never tried shrimp and grits or hush puppies and it was an amazing first experience! Our server, Genevieve, was patient and thorough and she made it an extra wonderful experience. I would LOVE to return and try some other stuff on their menu! Had some internet issues which delayed ordering and food delivery. Great seafood. Best in the area. Everything is fresh off the boats which are parked at the docks. Seafood gumbo and the hush puppies are the best I’ve ever had.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps are perfect for access.

Probably my favorite place on Tybee Island. Smaller than the Crab Shack but still offers a mix of indoor and outdoor seating, and even more of the “am I in the right place” feel driving up to it. I loved the Jambalaya and my daughter loved the simplicity of the smash burger. My wife was less thrilled with her crab cakes (preferred the Crab Shack’s) but I thought they had great flavor and more substantial texture than most, so they were my favorite on this trip. Service was great - we were effortlessly handed off and guided inside to a small but clean table, and drinks then food were quickly brought out. Atmosphere was also great - made you feel like what you were eating might have been caught this morning and processed just yards away, and the waitstaff was in sync and turning a lot of tables with happy customers all around us.

Moved to Savannah about a year ago and bubba gumbos has become a weekly ritual for us. Not only is the food unbelievable but the atmosphere is so laid back and everyone who works there will make you feel so welcome. Everything is so consistently amazing. The shrimp and grits and gumbo are both unreal. And although this is a seafood spot, do not let that stop you from getting the smash burger. It is so simple but done so perfectly. I have nothing but good things to say about this place and take everyone here who comes to visit savannah. Oh and THE MOST PERFECT MARGARITA. Go here and skip the tourist traps please

Ordered the blackened Mahi (Catch of the day) with a side of fries and hushpuppies, all of which were delicious.Plenty of outdoor seating right next to the marina. Prices are reasonable and staff were friendly.Strongly recommend if you're in in yhr are and in the mood for seafood.

This is easily one of the best establishments that I have ever been to. The food is amazing, the price is very reasonable for the quantity and even more so quality. The location is fun and laid back with a great view and area. All of this said, the service is so spectacular. Everyone here is friendly and just fun to talk to. Caroline, our waitress, was such a sweetheart and welcoming. She also had the perfect sense of humor, but I can not say enough great things about her. 10/10 and will definitely come back someday.

If you want seafood fresh off of the boat, this is your place. Outside seating right on the docks on the Lazaretto Creek. Service was good and friendly considering that they were very busy. The fishing boats were coming in, fish were being cleaned for everyone to see which produced an otter show. We had some great food here. The fried shrimp was fresh and delicious with a little spice. Shrimp and Grits, Loaded Jumbalaya, Scallops and Flounder all fresh from the boat. Cold beer and a great atmosphere. Bubba Gumbos will be on our visit list from now on!

The blackened snapper was the best blackened fish I have ever eaten. Not too dry nor charred, as has been my experience at other restaurants.We visited on a chilly weekday night in November, so we did not do the full outdoor patio experience. We did have a window to a nice sunset, though.

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon with a party of 5. Seated immediately, outdoor seating available with a view of the water. It was pretty busy but it was a holiday weekend. It looked like our waitress was also manning the bar and they appeared to be understaffed. We ordered the hush puppies with honey butter and they were pretty good. Our entrees took a little bit to come out but they were hot. The fried shrimp were well cooked, the scallops dish was rich but delicious. Overall the food was pretty good and I would eat there again in spite of the wait time. The waitress tried to be attentive but she was on double duty. We did have to wait on our check and drink refills. This is a casual, local, place with a bar.Not a lot of indoor seating, especially for large parties. Parking is limited and was challenging

This place was the perfect setting for being from out of state! I bought the catch of the day which was flounder and the waitress recommended it being fried - she wasn’t wrong. We were able to see lemon sharks, sea turtles, and otters. The owner was helpful in naming what we were seeing. It was such a fun atmosphere and unique place to visit. Will definitely be returning in the future!

This spot was recommended to us by Jac of Historic Tybee Tours and it was absolutely delicious! It is a very low-key place with indoor and outdoor seating available and the food was extremely fresh - you could tell it was caught that day! The menu had so many choices to choose from too. We had the Hush Puppies, Steamed Shrimp, Gumbo, and Kid's Fish Bites. Everything was absolutely delicious and we had some delicious beers too! Maddie was our waitress and she was very nice and attentive.This is on the way back to Savannah from Tybee, so it was the perfect stop for dinner before we ended our day trip.Highly recommend visiting!

Excellent food! Service was so slow. Took us over 2 hours between being seated, ordering and receiving our food. It was definitely worth the wait, but not something I would want to do every time. I believe they only had 2 servers and one was bartending. Food extremely fresh and well seasoned. We enjoyed the seafood Mac n cheese and shrimp Po boy. We had gumbo and scallops for appetizers. Everything was delicious!

Everything I ordered at this restaurant was absolutely fantastic! My table shared the gumbo and the baked scallops, which came out hot and delicious; these dishes are top three of the best dishes I've had. My entree was the shrimp mac and cheese, also to die for! This food here is very well seasoned and tastes amazing. I would definitely come back here to try the crab cakes because unfortunately they didn't have any when I asked for them. The drinks were phenomenal! They definitely put a good amount alcohol in them! Service was a bit slow because I'm sure they were understaffed, it's understandable, but we did wait a good while for our food. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed!

First time to location. Glad we came early because can tell it fills up fast. Sat at bar and very attentive bartender, even though she was busy. Our food was very good. Veggie of the day was asparagus and should have passed on that. Very skinny and tough pieces. Obviously saved better selection of asparagus for their side on Valentines Day dinner special. Other than that, would definitely recommend and will return.

Very cute location right on the docks. The food took an hour to get to us though, so I wouldn't recommend going on peak hours. We went on a Wednesday evening so I wasn't expecting it to be as bad as it was. I got the crab cake sandwich and it was decent but nothing to write home about. We also got a half pound of shrimp and that was pretty good; you could tell they were very fresh. Overall I was a little disappointed with how slow the food was and how it wasn't really worth the wait.

Visit #1 8/2021. The food here was amazing! The shrimp are literally brought in off a boat, directly behind the restaurant! The atmosphere is so eclectic and homey feeling, and the staff make you feel like you’re a regular here. We have recommended this location to everyone we know that visits Savannah or Tybee Island. We will be back again when we come down to the area!Visit #2, 9/2022. We came back to visit again and the food was still to die for! The shrimp and grits had such great flavor, the stone ground grits still had texture to them and not soggy, the shrimp were grilled to perfection, the andouille sausage pieces gave it a kick and the coffee gravy just added that perfect amount of bitterness to the dish to make it exquisite. The shrimp platter, we got grilled shrimp, were perfect! Perfectly grilled, tender, sweet shrimp paired with the veggies were such a great paring. Kenneth was our server and was very friendly and courteous! Such an awesome gentleman, as we asked him for recommendations as we are visitors to the area and we’re looking for other places to go. Again the service and food here are spectacular, and we will definitely be back on our next trip down. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant!!For some reason Google will NOT allow me to leave another review for this restaurant (visited over a year apart) so I’ll just edit this one!
