I found this sweet boy on a Sunday, I’m not from the area. I stayed close to where I found him 1 full day to see if he would find his way home. I kept him for2 days until they opened Tuesday . I also live in a van, otherwise I would’ve kept him. When I brought “ knucklehead” into paws 4 life I was told by the woman with an attitude running the place she would’ve left him on the road, there are no leash laws in this county. She rolled her eyes when I asked for the collar and leash that I keep on hand for these situations. I seriously felt judged by this true knucklehead for picking a stray up who was in the middle of the road and caring for him for 2 days. I get this is the rural south and I’m not from here but seriously?! This is who runs this rescue?! Yikes

The animals are very well cared for here. You can tell these people love them. The staff is friendly and caring, even to folks who may not deserve it a lot of times. They save an amazing amount of lives but like every shelter in rural areas, they have a hard time keeping up with the needs of the area. Major kudos to this hard working group of life saving angels!! You guys don't get told often enough what a great job you do!!

One of the nicest, cleanest shelters I've been to. The animals are very well cared for. The staff is super nice.They also offer shot clinics and microchipping. Just a great shelter all around.

We went today just to look and came home with a beautiful new dog. Her name is Peerie. Thx to the help and support from Paws4Life staff, we have a new addition to our family

They operate on a budget of monies and volunteers from local folks and businesses. We adopted our sweet pup at Paws4life in January, 2019. We live in Arden, NC, and we drove 4 hours round trip to get her. The staff were very helpful and super patient with our children (they wanted to pick up every single puppy, naturally). We could tell that they really care about the animals they help find homes for. The establishment was clean and organized, our new puppy was healthy and had been well taken care of.We were not expecting to receive a small crate, a bag of puppy food AND a blanket (all free) with our new puppy!I appreciate that Paws4life makes sure that every animal adopted from there is spayed/neutered in a specific amount of time following adoption. I wish all shelters were more like this place!

I drove an hour to meet Camel, my family and I were looking for a small breed puppy since we already have a bigger doggy inside. We lost our sweet baby girl in April and I wasn't sure if getting another dog would be a good idea. But when going and meeting camel it changed my mind. He was so sweet and loving and my 2 year old loved him as well. The young man that helped me through the process was amazing and answered all my questions and concerns. He didn't pressure me in any way and he allowed us to have alone time with camel to see if he was a good fit. Welp, now camel is home with us and gets along perfect with our big boy Chaac. He is so sweet and gentle. He was a perfect fit for my family. If your going to adopt definitely check out the babies at paws4life. I had a great experience and you will to.

The best, least depressing shelter I have ever been to. It is clean, the facility is nice, the staff really cares and the animals receive veterinary care and everyone there seems to be invested in finding good homes for all the animals there. I took this place for granted in my own ignorance. I did not know how nice it was until visiting some other shelters in the state while looking for cats to adopt. It made me a lot more aware and grateful for paws 4 life and all they do for the animals in this community.

They were very polite and helped out a lot unfortunately I had to take a couple of my fur babies it wasn't because I wanted to but it was the best I had to many and times have gotten beyond hard for us so I didn't have a choice but they assured us they would be taken good care of thank you ladies I hope my little gentleman are being good for y'all we sure miss them

Terrible experience with a dog we rescued from a busy road. Accused us of stealing it and actually called cops on us. Multipl subsequent attempts to contact to assure the dog was properly cared for ignored.

They were able to make room in the schedule to spay the stray cats at my house . However the next day , I could not catch them. They will work with me until we can get it done. Employees were so helpful and nice as could be.

I was looking for my lost cat. I was visiting the area when I was involved in a crash. My cat took off in the confusion. I've gone back to the scene numerous times, but could not find her.Last resort, I stopped by here to find her. The staff was very helpful and gave me a link to their Facebook so I could post a picture and description.Hope I find her in the next few days before I have to leave.I will and always will support the Humane Societies of the local communities I visit.

I wanted to see dogs but they won't let ppl see dogs bc they want u to go online a pick a dog from a picture which is not the way you choose a family pet. Three ppl were outside smoking at door then proceeded inside to their desks and told me how nobody could help us. I explained to them I wasn't looking for a certain type dog just one that we connected with. They looked at me as if i was stupid If they don't understand that Interaction Is key to choosing a new family pet not the type/pic of dog then they need to take a few lessons.

I love non-kill shelters, but when you threaten people with legal action for trying to return a dog to it's owners, you cross a line.
