The employees here care so much about all of the fur babies. All of the cats and dogs are taken great care of. I had a wonderful adoption experience when I adopted my kitten. The adoption coordinator Karin was very kind and explained everything I needed to know. She went above and beyond by giving me her card with her contact information to make sure I can reach her if I had an questions or need any help with my new kitten. I highly recommend visiting here to adopt your new fur baby and to save a life at the same time!

Karen, Candace and their staff genuinely care about each animal that comes through their doors. They fight to help them not only survive but to also find loving homes. I've adopted a few of my furry friends from them and have been pleased with all aspects of the adoption process.

We waited for two hours, and we’re not waited on kept being told that we were going to get waited on, but everyone that came in after us got waited on. We were honestly trying to give a dog a good home to grow and have his life and the lady that was the manager whoever she was was very rude. Ignore the issue that was going on the little girl that worked upfront was also very rude. I have no issue with the shelter employees. They were nice and gave us friendly smiles, but management upfront. They need to work on their people skills or maybe take a ethics class.

Their hours of operation make it difficult for a working person to pay them a visit. I've attempted multiple phone calls and no one answers. I will update once I actually get to visit.

I came to adopt a cat and had plenty to choose from. The staff let me take my time in choosing. They were very helpful and professional.

If I was rating the staff, this place would get 10 stars. They, and the volunteers, were very friendly and caring. They went out of their way to help my family that had a pet with them in a car accident. However, like most shelters, this one needs more help and funding. So sad that people still breed animals when so many need homes. Thank you guys for all you do!

Love how kind and professional the staff here are! My fiancé called ahead for us to look at one cat we seen on Facebook the other day, but when we got there Venus got my fiancé’s attention first and the rest was history!😅 He has never been much of a cat person, but I think it’s safe to say that she has converted him lol. She is such a sweetheart and has had no trouble adjusting to her new life as a spoiled kitty. She is super affectionate and not afraid of anything. I’m so glad we were given the opportunity to meet her and that the staff were so patient with us when we were trying to make sure she was the right fit for us. I would definitely recommend going here first if you are looking for your next furbaby! It’s obvious they love and care for these sweet animals and want nothing but the best for them!

I called animal control over ten times last week for a snake I SEEN in my house... They never came and when they did the officer was more concerned about who lives in my house with me and they only checked one spot for the snake.... Every time I called I got the voicemail so I had to call 911. Then on top of that they tried to make me feel like I was crazy bc they couldn't find the animal....I finally had to put glass in my floor so that the snake would leave some kind of trail.... He did... They still had me put in a mental hospital bc they said I was losing my mind....I feel like they totally disrespected me as a scared veteran with PTSD and anxiety... They only looked at the fact that I'm a recovering addict and tried to pin it all on my addiction....it's snakes blood still on my floor from it's blood. I had to run it out myself....thanks for nothing

Maybe more hours should be worked by this department in order to not make people wait 3 or more days to respond.Maybe try some honesty as to when you'll really make it out on your call.Maybe try answering your phone in business hours. No there is no rush on the people's safety

The officers were very accommodating of my situation at home and willing to work around my current pets. I could bring them for a meet and greet with the pet/s I potentially want to adopt. I was allowed to just visit with the kitties to see who I bonded with, and they have some GREAT kitties. I did not make it to the doggies as my pooch ain't dog friendly. I'm sure they have great dogs too!

I was pretty shocked at the state of this place. It smelled horrible from the first step you took.We went to look at both dogs and cats. The dog room left me shaken. It was the only room that smelled clean, but I was devastated at the state of the dogs. There was one with a gash across it's stomach, that looked uncared for. It honestly looked like they'd been hosed off and left there despite the injury.I know it's really hard to run a facility like this, but I hadn't seen anything like it.

Makes little to no sense that they demand for the animal to be spayed / neutered by them before you can adopt, that should be the decision of the one adopting not them. Especially when they’re currently backed up with no idea how long it will take to have the animal adopted. Nice way to make people not want to do business with you.

BEWARE, THIS IS A KILL SHELTER!I had to leave a stray cat I had picked up over a year ago to the Tift Co Animal Shelter because of my having to move and my cat could not go. I took my cat in on Monday morning, employee was helpful. I filled out paperwork and left my cell phone number. I told employee to call me if my cat did not adapt well that I would come get him and figure something out. She said ok and understood. I tried to call Wednesday, Thursday, left message, ask for information and employee by name to call me. I called and finally got an answer on Friday morning. Employee who took my cat answered and told me they could not handle my cat and had to put him down! I was devasted! I reminded her I did not want him killed and she said she knew and was very sorry. She said it was not right! I was just so upset and still upset. My vet clinic told me they were low kill to no kill! I don’t think so. Please don’t support this shelter by carrying pets u cannot care for. Please try to rehome yourself, please. My cat did not deserve to be killed. A stray I had gotten to love and loved me and even eat in my house. He rubbed and loved all over me and my grandchildren. I loved him, but could not keep because of moving where he could not go. I wish I could redo Monday. I never would have carried my cat to Tift Co Animal Shelter! This is county funded. My family lives and pays taxes here in Tift Co. I will let my commissioner know and county managers about my experience with the animal shelter. Awareness is needed to this cruelty. And to the vet who put him done, you should be ashamed too! There needs to be tighter rules and regulations on killing helpless animals. You are to help, not kill!

Very kind people. Treat animal with respect. We were in a car accident 3/3/17. Took my dogs that were in the car so I could go to the hospital and returned them to me 3/6/17. Dogs were happy and grateful that someone with so much love had taken them for a few days. There are no words I could describe how thankful I am. Thanks a thousand times.

My Max left out the yard, when he was at my daughter's house. He followed some kids up the street, where he went in the road & they got him out the road, was taking Max home with them. Until one of the workers from the Animal Shelter told them they couldn't do that because he had to be someone pet. So search for an hour before he took Max to the shelter but had no luck in finding his home. I searched for him Monday September 3, but couldn't find him, I called the shelter, but it was closed due to a holiday. The next day, I called my veterinarian, told them about what happened, they mentioned about calling the shelter again. So I did & they had rescued Max. I am so grateful they were able to get him, other than someone else, bc I could have been searching for a long time.

Georgia. Animal shelter does kill the animals every couple of weeks . there is smoke from there killing chamber they burn the animals. Do not let them do this to the animals they can be saved .how about training for leader dogs for the blind. Or maybe K 9 for the police. How about taking them to the hospital to cheer patients up .service dogs to help the elderly. Dogs for companionship. Why do certain people live to be 100 yrs old or better. Let the animals live enough killing.

They don't seem to follow up on reports such as the boxer next door that attacked and killed my cat on my property last year. They could do a better job.
