Asked for a quick appointment for a sick pet. It was granted even though they had never seen the pet or me before. Service was great. Everyone was kind and thoughtful. They treated my pet wonderfully. They are now my new vet.

This vet office has always gone above and beyond to care for our cats. Dr. Aponte and her staff are wonderful. Unfortunately we are all on a first name basis since we have a very naughty orange tabby. We’ve been using this vet for 6 years.

Took my dog here and they gave her the absolute best care. Hands down the only vet I will be taking my pets to. Very gentle and understanding as well.

I have been taking my dog here for over 12 years. We love the care and concern the whole team shows. On top of that, the pricing is reasonable.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the exceptional care provided by Dr. Aponté and her dedicated staff at StoneMountain Animal Hospital. My beloved dog, Primo, received top-notch veterinary care that exceeded all expectations, leaving me with nothing but praise for the entire team.

I’ve been using this vet for almost a year now. I have 3 cats and 1 small dog. My dog started having symptoms that required a trip to the vet quickly. He couldn’t hold his bladder and was drooling excessively, couldn’t stand on his back legs. With 1 1/2 hours before closing I was informed they could not see me and referred me to an emergency vet. This is an unacceptable way to treat established patients, or any patient for that matter.

Doctors are great here. However, it is extremely expensive and you have to call ahead for everything. Even flea prevention and regular meds. Expect to spend a few hundred after each visit.

I'm disabled I found a dog and was needing to know if he had a chip. When I got there he was hard to handle very strong I would barely hold him. The two ladies I met put other lead around his neck. Scanned him and we where on our way home. He's mine no chip. I was also assigned with getting him in the car. Feel great full.

I had been going to another vet for years. When my dog was having an emergency, that vet said they couldn’t see her for a week. I called Stone Mountain Animal Hospital out of desperation and Dr Aponte made time to see her the next day.The entire staff made us feel so welcome and was beyond amazing throughout all our experience. They were attentive and thorough and even called to follow up with us after hours to check on Lucy. After a couple of visits and surgery, Lucy is 100% better. To top it off the prices for her treatment were incredibly reasonable. While the practice isn’t the most modern, you have the benefit of the old school personal touch you will not receive at a practice that cares more about their appearance than the care of you and your animal. I plan to continue to bring all our pets here for the foreseeable future.

I took my dog in to get his medication. They could only fill half of it. The veterinarian then instructed the receptionist to tell me that it would not make a difference if he missed two days and that they could fill it today. I asked to speak with the veterinarian she was unavailable both times. So I called a few other places and they said the medication loses its potency if not given consecutively we were refused a refund or any kind of explanation. Every time we go here we have a problem with the receptionist and it just seems like they are very unprepared at this establishment. Hopefully they can do better get some better staff and improve. I would definitely start with the receptionist. Reading the reviews from the last couple months it seems like everyone has the same consensus that she is very rude, inconsiderate, and unprepared. That's the first person that interacts with all your clients. If they're not warming and inviting which she is not at all, that directly reflects on your business. Hope you guys can improve for all our pets sakes....

I went to SMAH in February for my 10 year dog’s annual vaccinations. He was a new client there and had never had any previous health complications so I was alarmed when he began to exhibit signs of myositis. He had all the classic signs however after several visits over a month Dr. Aponte continued to nickel and dime me addressing every other issue but what was becoming my pet’s growing immobility and tumors on top of his head. Each visit costs nearly $300 just for her to initially call these tumors “knots” because he may have bumped his head. I transferred my pet after about a month and a half of frustration to Village Vets where in the first visit they were able to 1 ) perform an x-ray and a biopsy in which they didn’t charged for the full assessment 2) not only give him a proper diagnosis but also refer me to an oncologist so we can begin his treatment. The staff at SMAH did nothing but push pain killers and talk around the main cause of my concerns, delaying treatment and causing on going suffering for my pet. Given my experience I do not feel they are a trustworthy medical facility.

When my 20 year old cat died they allowed me to mourn and did not make fun of me.I have been with SMV for 17 years. They worked with my budget. The receptionist has grown to be more gentle hearted over the years. She has grown into her job.She and Connie allowed me to rush my baby over when he had just died. They allowed me to view the body as if at a funeral 2 times!!!This was very healing as I am bad with death. They brought my cat in ceremoniously in a towel and allowed me to cry for 30 minutes.Yes. They allowed me to be a crazy pet owner and I appreciated it.I have recovered from my pets loss faster since they allowed me to say good bye.Dr. Ponte always was kind about my wanting to stay on a BUDGET with my cat. I avoided unnecessary procedures and even did not take my indoor cat in for several years as I had been sick. They always treated me like I was family.I did hold my cat down but that cuts down on costs, I believe.

We love Dr. Aponte! She truly cares about our two dogs and we love how she always puts out front how much things will cost so we can elect whether or not to do some tests and so we aren't blindsided by the bill. I would whole heartedly recommend this business.

We are back - with our cats - a 2nd time, after a very poor departing experience with Avondale. However, if it weren't for Dr. Aponte and Connie, who have been very understanding and caring of our needs, we would be gone again. Selective customer service at reception, simply doesn't work for us - in particular, me. It is what drove us away the first time and it hasn't gotten any better. Last visit, my wife & I waited 15 minutes in the parking lot for our bill, simply because we got ignored. Going to the vet is not a favorite experience of our cats. But, that does not mean it should also be a bad experience for me (us) - or, anyone else.

We took our German Shepherd to Stone Mountain Animal Hospital today. We just started the skin treatment, but this review is more about the people than the medicine. Everyone - especially Jaimy - was awesome! Connie was fantastic to talk to on the phone, Dr. Aponte is fantastic and so obvously cares, and Jaimy seems to genuinely treat every animal like she loves them. The team went above and beyond, and they have earned us as customers forever.

Such a knowledgeable vet and staff!! So passionate..It's a shame the owner of the building, Dr. Jeffrey Brown, doesn't give a damn that the whole place looks like it's falling apart, while his "OTHER office " is so nice....shame on him! Dr Aponte is a great vet, and some people see the office and turn away, not giving her a chance.. because the facility is in shambles..but I assure you she and her staff are top notch in every way!!

Rude. Dirty. Incompanent. Sounds harsh, but it’s what I experienced.I brought my three dogs in to have nails trimmed for each of them. Front office receptionist was unfriendly and did not even acknowledge pets. Not used to going to a pet care facility and having people be so unfriendly toward animals.Biggest issue however was vet tech who came out to get dogs but did not hardly mutter two words to us. No communication at ALL. Just silently going through motions without clearly explaining plan or what she was doing. Turns out she planned on having us in the room to hold our dogs down while she attempted to clips nails — and she had as much trependation as we experience at home on our own! She was ONLY able to get ONE paw complete on our small 11 lb puppy, and then left room abruptly without a word. After a confused wait, I realized this was ABSURD!! I should not be made to hold my pets down and help her to do the job we are paying them to do. It’s very distressing to watch your dogs get their nails cut, and I’ve never had to be present or help a professional with that in all the years I’ve been a dog owner.I walked out of the vet room and found her relaxed at the front desk, casually talking with the receptionist and vet. I Told them we were leaving because this was not at all what we were paying for, and left. The job was not finished for any of the three dogs, after being there for 45 minutes.Place was also dirty in the vet tech rooms. Multiple Spiders and webs in the corners and a film of dirt running down the walls.

Dr Aponte is an amazing vet who has consistently gone above and beyond to treat my animals, work within my schedule, and find ways to save me time and money. I brought her my cat who was extremely malnourished and having seizures and she calmly and professionally got him back in good health.

They are very caring and gentle. They have rescue cats they care for in the office. The hours are reasonable as they take appointments until about 4:30 or so. They stayed with my dog and I after his minor procedure. They genuinely love the animals they care for.

I brought my dog in because he wasn’t putting his leg down. After rushing me because “the doctor was on his way out” and scolding me because unfortunately I did not have $300 to get my dog x-rayed that same day they left a sour taste with me. They lacked compassion and seemed to only want to get paid. They “examined” by baby for less than a minute and FALSELY determined his hip was broken. Turned out to be a fracture of his knee. I found that out at an AMAZING vet somewhere else. Paid half of what they estimated. Oh yeah, and they charged me $56 for nothing. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE!!!

I wanted to have my dog tested for Hypothyroidism, so I called here. The person that answers the phone has the tone of voice like she really doesn't want to be bothered. When I asked how much the tests would cost, she would not tell me. I asked her if she could find out, and she said she wouldn't know until after the exam. In other words, I would have to spend my money on the exam fee, then the test cost would be a surprise. She wouldn't even tell me what tests are run. No thank you, this place seems like a scam to get your exam fee first.
