I would definitely recommend Mainstreet Veterinarians. Our dog has been receiving veterinary care and grooming at Mainstreet since he was 3 months old. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Moorehead gives a detailed diagnosis of any medical issue with a treatment plan and follow up.

Dr. Moorehead and his staff are incredible! We visit him for our GSD for the NRT (Nutrition Response Testing). She's having a reaction to something and he and his team are helping her reset to be healthy!! We thank the doc so much for helping us find out what is going on with her and solving the problem as a team with us.

Dr. Moorehead and staff provide great care for my two pups. I was referred to Mainstreet Vets by a friend as I searched for holistic vets around metro Atlanta area. My pups have been on Dr. Moorehead’s program since 2021 and haven’t been healthier! Happy to receive vet care from a raw-positive vet who understands the importance of eating well and maintaining health through whole foods instead of medicating to treat issues!

While their holistic services works for my cat, it hasn't worked for my dog. They've continually drained money out of me, someone who loves her 2 senior pets dearly, by asking to see me every 3-4 weeks. My dog has continually been on different supplements ranging $30-50 each, to be told that one doesn't work. I've tried my best to do the natural approach to no avail. Unfortunately over a month ago the Dr found a heart murmur during a routine check up + bloodwork. Added Xrays, and in that $1300 vet visit he told me it wasn't bad and added another supplement. 3 weeks pass and my dog's condition suddenly goes from perfect to extremely worrisome. A day before I was bringing him back to recheck him, he passed out, prompting a rush to the ER. The ER told me the heart murmur was worse than I was led to believe. I took him back to the this vet and was charged a full check up instead of follow up (even the ER was kind enough to charge follow up X-rays). Was told he wanted to do more supplements and try to get him off the med the ER vet told me my dog might need for the rest of his life, plus was told not to get an echocardiogram because it wasn't necessary despite the ER recommendation. A week passed and my dog's condition worsens, I then rushed to get the echocardiogram. So now this is over $3000 later on my dog. My cat had yet another follow up today and unfortunately my husband's car is not working, will be over $1000 to fix. This is a tough month. I never confirmed the appt for my cat, as they always call 2 days before so I forgot until I saw today's calendar. Called and was told I'm going to pay a $20 cancellation fee, that I confirmed when I made the appt (I didn't!) And there's nothing they'll do about it. I went from loving this vet for helping me keep my 19+ yo cat off meds to now realizing that I might just be a walking bag of money to them... So close to the holidays too, this one hurts.Edit: I stopped coming end of last year because Magic was constantly back every few weeks to receive new supplements that simply never worked or made him sick. It was stressful for him, and since his condition was great despite a slight back issue that's under control, I made the decision to stop and wait for his yearly Bloodwork. When I brought him in on 9/25 it was for senior Bloodwork, I told them he might have kennel cough and didn't want him in the lobby to affect the other patients. They found the murmur, I was charged for X-rays and told it wasn't bad, to follow his supplement recommendation which I did exactly. 3 weeks later, on 10/15 he passed out and urinated himself, resulting in the ER. The ER vet told me to get the echocardiogram and that the heart murmur was a grade 3, much worse than I was told. What they conveniently forgot in their reply is that I took him back here on 10/16, and that's when he told me NOT to get the echocardiogram, that Magic didn't need it, and in fact Magic wouldn't need the medicine the vet gave me. Follow his increased supplement diet. I did for a week, and after night 2 Magic's condition started worsening by the day. That's when I called on 10/23 requesting the echo referral. It's heartless to say I couldn't be accommodated 'as soon as I wanted' when I had many tearful conversations with them that Magic's condition was worsening by the night. Now due to my (previously 3 star) review, instead of reaching out to me they sent an email with merely 2 sentences, releasing my pets' records and stating they think I'd be better served elsewhere. In all my years working in the dog care industry, I've always called displeased clients and do my best to turn it into a positive experience, something I hoped my review would prompt. Not only that, they refused my petmeds renewal for his life sustaining med, telling petmeds I need to go in for an exam, but they still have not called me personally. Leaving me the week of Thanksgiving to find someone else to renew it (the ER kindly did w/o seeing Magic). Horrible customer service experience, and lack of care for my pets or a struggling human being.

I love the staff and vet here. They really take their time and explain everything. My cat and dog both are doing great because of the care that they've received here.. I have been to several vets in the past. I'm happy to say that I have found my permanent vet for my boys. You can tell they really love animals. That means a lot.

I brought my Maltese mix and Yorkshire Terrie to get groomed because I like the work I saw when puppies were groomed. I was excited to see my little Nipsey and Buttercup groomed. Well dropped them off at 7:30 am. Had a problem picking them up at 1:00 due to an accident on 285 East. Didn't get there until 1:45. Upon arrival the staff ask me what was wrong with Buttercup's eyes? Didn't know what they were talking about. When I looked at my pup's eyes they were both blood shot red. The staff claim I was unable to see her eyes because of the hair on her face before the grooming process. They also mention that Nipsey my Maltese's eyes were also bulging and red. NOT TRUE! I brought my Terrie to the hospital the next day and was told that the mask that keep her from biting was rubbing the inside of her eyes. What got me was they "ALL" lied about the injury blaming it on me. I guess they thought I wasn't intelligent enough to fine out what happen to my baby. I will "NEVER" go back.

I brought our chiwinnie (5 yo) in to see Dr Moorehead a month ago. We were concerned because he was rapidly losing his ability to use his back legs and seemed to be in pain. I had just taken him to his regular vet and they told me it was his knees and we could help by massaging them. This clearly was not his problem. Dr Moorehead gave us pain med and a supplement to help his circulation. In three weeks with no other changes he was moving around like he was a puppy and was even try to get our other dog to play with him. Thank you to Dr Moorehead and his staff to assess Hank’s problem and provide accurate solution. He is a very anxious dog and yet he is at ease with the staff.

I am grateful to have found Dr. Moorehead and Mainstreet Vets. His knowledge and ability to isolate the source of kidney issues for my dog has helped her tremendously. She was 12 when the traditional vet informed me that she had kidney disease and I knew I had to find a natural way to support and help her. Her numbers have remained stable and she’s had urinary incontinence twice that we’ve been able to mitigate through diet and nutrition. But as much as we love the Dr, everyone has been great and my dog gets excited every time to see them!

After my cat had a bad reaction to hyperthyroid steroid treatments, I took him to Dr. Moorehead. We followed his holistic treatment plan to the letter and have had great results—my cat has lots of energy and has started to gain weight, too. Dr. Moorehead and his team are friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The office runs like clockwork and I always feel my time is respected. I'm a fan!

I wish we found Dr. Moorehead sooner! When my Chinese Shar-pei, Ruffles, began to have steadily elevating kidney values, we knew something had to change. After getting the same answers from local veterinarians, we expanded our search for an experienced, open-minded doctor that leveraged holistic and conventional medicine to optimize health. That lead us to MainStreet Veterinarians. From the start, Dr. Moorehead’s approach of using Nutritional Response Therapy and energy testing made a world of difference. We had not tried holistic medicine on ourselves, but we were game to try with our pup. Within two months, Ruffles SDMA (kidney health marker) had decreased to normal levels and remained steady for a long time. Whenever Ruffles has had a health issue, Dr. Moorehead tweaks his “program” and any issues have always cleared up within days. This includes everything from not eating, lethargy, bowel issues, fever frequency, eye and ear infections, incontinence, etc. One of the many things we’ve learned is that everything in the body (animals and humans) is linked, so fixing the current “main” issue can clear up residual, less pressing health concerns, too! (Example: Ruffles developed incontinence. It was determined he had a food sensitivity to poultry. Eliminating that fixed the issue AND he became less itchy, too! Go figure!?!)Dr. Moorehead and the team always work with us to make sure the latest program tweaks not only work for the patient, but importantly, also the parents and pocketbook, too! I have spoken with many clients there and everyone’s plan is different and tailored to the animal. I’ve seen zillions of rare breed dogs and cats there with people that travel from different cities and states to see him, too. Rest assured; you won’t be alone wondering if you’re crazy to travel this far for your fur baby. 😊Dr. Moorehead’s personal attention has meant the world to us, especially when Ruffles has had to go to the ER for urgent concerns out of town, etc. He and the team follow-up after hours to make sure everyone is on the mend and doing okay.Ruffles hereditary disease has progressed to the point that we recently called in a euthanasia service over the holiday. We thought he had hurt his leg and did not take him to the vet (just rest, etc.), knowing we had an appointment in a week. Unfortunately, we were very wrong. His adrenals had crashed and began to cause Ruffles immense pain and suffering. He was crying and could not be touched. It was awful. Out of respect, we wanted to tell Dr. Moorehead of our plans ahead of time. So glad we did!His guidance literally saved Ruffles life and put him out of pain almost immediately. After seeing us early the next morning, we devised a new plan to hopefully get Ruffles quality of life back soon. In less than 24 hours we were seeing improvements and continue to see them. While we are cautiously optimistic knowing we cannot beat this hereditary kidney disease for too much longer, we have no doubt Ruffles life has been vastly improved thanks to Dr. Moorehead and team. In fact, no one believes he has stage 4 renal disease because he looks so good and generally has great energy. That is not the norm.Further, Dr. Moorehead also practices his approach on people and I can say first-hand it has eliminated my aches and pains. I continue to giggle about sharing the same doctor, but once you get over that part and realize it’s not only effective, but more efficient time-wise (instead of yet another visit to someone like a chiropractor who may practice the same thing), you’ll be on your way to feeling great with less doctor visits and prescription meds. 😊 My better half is a physician himself and was not a believer for a long time. “Impossible” he always said. He does not believe in chiropractors or acupuncture either. That is, until he started going to Ruffles appointments and became fascinated and curious himself, amazed at the consistent results that happen at MainStreet. I am near convincing him to start seeing Dr. Moorehead himself. If we can see success, anyone can!

Dr. Moorehead is one of the best vets my pup has ever been to. He's kind, thorough, and has helped us through some stressful moments. His team of vet-techs is also incredible, friendly, and love my pup.

Went here months ago based on a recommendation. I didn't want to go as it didn't seem like they could do anything for my dog as they weren't doing any medical procedure for my (what I found out to be) terminally ill dog.But I decided it couldn't hurt to see what they could do.Get there and everyone seemed very nice. I was given paper work to read and sign. I read it and noticed multiple times how it states that they are not diagnosing issues, they are not equipped to tell you of any issues and how their advice is more recommendations. For a place that advertises itself as a vet, that didn't sound right but still, my dog was dying and I figure might as well try.My dog is seen by a person (doctor doesn't feel like the right word for this) who proceeded to put small bottles of water, oil, liquids, on my dog stating "this feels right", "this one has bad juju", "he's reacting good to this". It was all very weird, felt like I was in a magic show. The person recommended that I give my dog two drops of lavender and a cup of spring water everyday. I don't get how they came up with this recommendation either as they never even weighted my dog. Just put bottles of liquids by her.I begrudgingly paid and left feeling like I was ripped off. My dog, from going to another actual vet in another state, was terminally ill. She end up dying 2 months later from heart failure. Not sure how lavender and spring water would have solved that. These people pray on people suffering and looking for any solution. It's all pseudoscience that is on the same level as psychics. Please do not go here and consult actual vets. Go to a university vet or emergency vet if your pet has a serious problem. Do not spend money here, I beg you.EDIT: Per their reply. I don't care that others will testify differently. Putting bottles near my dog and telling me that's good vibes and juju isn't what a trained professional should be doing. Suggesting I change their water when they were terminally ill is just reckless. This place isn't a place of medicine, it's a place of pseudoscience working on the emotions of desperate people to get by. Disgusting. Please AVOID this business and go to an actual vet such as UGA Vet Hospital or another university vet for serious problems with your pet.

I wish I would’ve found Mainstreet much sooner. I brought my beloved boxer Atticus after he suffered a neurological condition that left him almost paralyzed. Dr. Moorehead and his staff offered tremendous holistic care to Atticus. He made almost a full recovery. It was basically a miracle. Unfortunately an underlying heart condition eventually took him at ten years of age. Such genetic conditions are common in boxers. But thanks to the wonderful care of Moorehead and his team, Atticus and I were given additional precious time together. He lived out his days in otherwise good health- active and joyful. I will forever be grateful for the deep love and care they showed us as we worked together with Atticus. I recommend this team fully and would definitely take future pets here. They also offer traditional approaches, which can be helpful in tandem with the holistic approach. If you’re considering Mainstreet, give them a try and follow their advice as best you can. It’s amazing what their expertise and affection can do to help your beloved pets live out their days with vitality and joy.

Dr. Moorehead and his team do a phenomenal job!I started taking my dog here after he had been limping for a while. The team did a great job with my dog's intake and Dr. Moorehead suggested he was a great candidate for their Nutritional Response Testing. After testing we found the root of all my dogs problems and now it's like he's a new dog!He has lost weight, has increased energy, and is more active. He's a senior dog at 10 years old and he looks and acts more and more like a 6 year old.In addition to his care, the team is very hospitable and personable. I also love the fact that the practice takes Care Credit as well as a payment option.

I highly recommend this practice. My dog Vincent has severe allergies and conventional vet treatments were temporarily masking the symptoms instead of addressing the root cause. Vincent has been on the Nutritional Response Testing plan for five months and it has provided him with well-deserved relief. Dr. Moorehead and the entire staff are amazing!

Great doctor, I can’t say the same about to staff. I was rescheduled mid way in transit of my appointment which is over 30 minutes from my house due to traffic which is out of my control. When called my Carmen for my eta I explained to her I was fighting through traffic and asked what the grace period was .. she responded none and she could not accommodate!!! Welp, I’ll be looking for better customer service… and more of realistic staff!!!!

Finding Dr. Moorehead has helped our whole family! After just two short years, we have seen miracles happen! The support of the team is unmatched, in my opinion, they are wonderful at communicating and always make our visits like being with family! Our dogs love to visit and I believe that speaks louder than words! My personal favorite thing about Main Street Veterinarians of Stone Mountain is my family being in the care of Dr.Moorehead! Call me old school but I remember a time when you only needed one doctor, this is what we have found here and we feel blessed!

Dr. Morehead and the staff at Mainstreet Vets are friendly and amazing people. I was referred to Dr. Morehead from my regular vet for Nutrition Response Testing for my 2.5 year old Wirehaired Vizsla, Greta. She was lethargic, had horrible hot spots, weeping and crusty skin lesions, and loss of hair over her entire body. Despite what we had done with diet and supplements previously, she only seemed to be getting worse. In her first assessment we discovered Greta was allergic to chlorine and also her filtering organs needed some help to help heal herself from the inside out. Her energy level bounced back within THREE DAYS of starting her on the supplements and giving her Kroger Spring water to drink (we have since installed a water filter tap that dispenses chemical free water that the entire household enjoys). Upon subsequent tests we found her body doesn't handle oats well. Once we figured that out her skin completely cleared up and her hair grew back - all told about 10 weeks from our first visit! The transformation was truly miraculous! I now take all three of my dogs to Dr. Morehead to maintain their "optimum" health. I recommend them every chance I get.

My best friend and I have been going to the Nutritional Wellness Institute (NWI) in Knoxville, Tennessee for many years. They use muscle response testing to determine weaknesses in the body to treat illnesses through nutritional wellness, including diet and nutritional supplements. Because of our great successes through NWI we sought a vet who also practices muscle response testing. Our dog, Oliver, had red, itchy feet and legs and he was constantly scratching and biting at them. We had taken him to our local vet whom we still use and to a local itch clinic and tried different solutions for his problem with no success (all requiring prescription medications which we didn’t want to give him). We located Dr. Moorehead through the Ulan Institute and scheduled our first appointment in September 2020. It is now early 2023 and his itchy red skin issues are resolved. Several other issues were revealed during this time that also had to be dealt with (pesticides in his body and sensitivities to certain foods are a couple). Even though the itching issues are gone we will continue to see Dr. Moorehead to keep him in optimal health and deal with any other issues that may arise. Since we have been clients at NWI for many years, we realized as one issue is resolved, an underlying one may show up.Even though the roundtrip drive to Dr. Moorehead’s office should take about 7 hours, it was often more like 9 or 10 due to interstate construction; however, we faithfully kept our appointments, which were at first about every 4-5 weeks, because we knew it would be worth it.Oliver is a healthy dog, and we are so thankful we found Dr. Moorehead! Of course, we wish there was a vet locally who practices muscle response testing; although, I don’t know that we could stop coming to see Dr. Moorehead and his terrific staff! They are all so wonderful there and Oliver loves to go see them! We still have a local vet we see for vaccinations, teeth cleaning, etc., and wish they would have a staff vet trained in muscle response testing. We just want people to know about this type of treatment and the great benefits it can produce. It’s amazing what muscle testing can reveal about your body and health without all the expensive and invasive tests. It took a few months for the redness to clear up (the redness went up his legs, not just on his feet). Altogether it took a little over two years to totally get the skin issues under control. We are beginning to move to a maintenance plan and will have 2 months or more without having to make the drive to Dr. Moorehead’s office for treatments! Hallelujah! Stick with it and find a muscle response person for your own health!Shari & Linda

Amazing staff, they are so nice and helpful! Bertina is my favorite because I've spoken to her many times and she was so patient with my mother and I. She always seems to be in a good mood and always helpful with scheduling and upfront with prices (and doesn't change up on us) and she ask first before doing additional things if there was any that was recommended by the doctor. I truly appreciate this place and would highly recommend it.

This is the best place I have found in my search of trying to help my dog with allergies! No place was able to keep her symptoms at bay for more then a week. It has been a process but my dog has lost weight, and doesn’t deal with the itching, redness and licking like she did before. All the other places put her on so many medications and expensive tests constantly but nothing laster more then a few days. She now goes weeks if not months with no symptoms and if she has a flare up we make some adjustments and we are right back on track. These are some of the best people that truly care!!!!!

My cat and dog, Rex and Monkey, have been getting NRT with Dr. Moorehead for half their lives now and it's amazing how healthy they are! They're 14 and 13 years old, respectively, and still romp around and play like babies. Recently, Monkey had an eye ulcer that often is the sort of thing that requires surgery. He's such a healthy pup, though, that not only did he not require surgery, but what the eye doctor predicted would take 3-5 months to heal took 3 weeks! Thanks so much, Main Street Vets, for keeping my 4-legged family so dang healthy!
