They TRY here, but store seems to suffer from a severe staffing shortage.The ONE employee who was in the store was trying to stock shelves, but had to also ring up customers, so was clearly overtasked.…Store shelves are often poorly stocked, missing many key items, & it seems like this could be easily cured by having more staff.(…I’m BETTING that the items I needed were still in a box in the back room!)…FAILS in comparison to other Dollar General stores in the Statesboro area.I honestly expect that this store will be closed in coming years.

I came in and purchased the wrong size picture frames. I returned about 30 minutes later and the same customer service representative was very rude and refused to return my purchase because I didn’t have a receipt. I told the rep that I was not given a receipt and she argued back and forth with me that she gave it to me. She told me without the receipt her manager wouldn’t let her return it so she called her. The store manager told me over the phone she wasn’t returning it, I told the manager I had just left the store and no receipt was given. The manager was nasty and said she was not coming in today or tomorrow to search for my receipt and listed how “tedious” it was. I stepped back to allow the other customers behind me to be checked out and watched the representative throw away another customers receipt and asked her where she was going to put it because I’m sure wherever she was throwing his receipt was where she put mine. She pointed to the trash can next to her and said I don’t know what you want me to do. I walked over to the trash can and my receipt was laying right on top of the trash. I used a bag as a glove to pick it out the trash and told her this was the receipt and put it on the counter. The representative started throwing things, deep breathing, and making smart comments under her breath. When she finished the return she left my return receipt on the counter and walked off and got rude saying I put it on the counter for her… and kept saying bye. I had to pick it out the trash’s of course it was on the counter. The manager and representative were rude and unprofessional

Very horrible even for a dollar general. Shelves are never stocked. You would think an earthquake of great magnitude hit the store from the look of the inside, and the parking area would not make you doubt it. The employees seem to think that they are more important than customers since bathrooms are not public. That's if you can get one of them to actually do their job long enough to be considered an employee. So yea 1 star since zero is not an option.

I had a very horrible experience tonight at my local Dollar General. To start off, as I was approaching the door, to enter to grab some things, the door happened to be locked. May I remind you that it was 9:45pm. Let me also remind you that there was a huge sign on the door that said they CLOSED at 10:00pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was a worker at the front, on her phone and she just stared at me as if I was stupid. She looked at me and told me "We are closed". I told her the time and she looked at me in confusion and started doing hand gestures at me. I told her I was paying with card and she still looked at me in confusion. I am very disappointed but who is surprised. I will never be back in there and will shop somewhere else!

My total price was over $20 more than what shelf pricing stated. It’s a huge scam. One product listed on shelf as $3.25 and rung up at $4.50, another item had ‘$2’ on the packaging but rung up $3.50, and so on… Cashier was rude as well, and halfway through ringing me up, took a personal call from a friend. Do not shop here!!!

My wife & I were on a mini vacay & stayed in a hotel. It had a pool & I needed some goggles to go under water (I wear contacts).I searched Google Maps for the closest DG & found this place. I got what I was after…& the store had a good bit of items, but I could tell that the store didn’t seem to pride itself in 1st impressions.The cashier was pretty friendly, but that’s about all I can say about the employees that were there.🙄🤔😳😁

Out of a lot of merchandise on a regular basis, cashier (A...) doesn't seem very knowledgeable about the register system; last time I was there they didn't even have receipt paper so i couldn't see if I was rang up correctly or if I received all the discounts I was supposed to... They seriously NEED TO DO BETTER at that particular location

I've been to some pretty slack Dollar Generals. This place is the clear cut winner! The CHAMP IS HERE!! The most slack Dollar General on the planet!. From housekeeping to customer service, don't look too hard for it; because you won't find it here. Employees here flat out don't care. Go across town on Northside Dr.. I promise it will be faster no matter how far out of the way!!

The store is located behind the Arby's. It's dirty, and unorganized. Sometimes there is a long wait at the checkout, I've waited 5+ minutes. It's not all the employees fault, they are RIDICULOUSLY understaffed. There is normally 1 person in when I go. The max I've seen is 2 people at the same time.It is worth mentioning that you can get some fairly good deals here. And if you go during flu season, bring some hand sanitizer.

This place is usually really busy and the line to check out can be pretty long. But the store is clean and they actually keep it pretty well stocked compared to other places. I like going here over anywhere else if I just need a few things.

Horrible management. There is only lady that is always at the register and she is so rude. Never speaks or even looks at me... their prices are never right. Something will be on sale and it rings up wrong, so I have to tell them and they act like it’s a big deal to go check... never going there again.

I can always count on the Dollar General Store for small bags of my little Chorkie's favorite dog treats Purina Twist-ables and T-bones for $1.00 for a 4.5 oz bag. I can always find neat seasonal item's at great prices. But it doesn't matter which Dollar General Store I go into in Statesboro only one register is open no matter how backed that line gets. They all also junked up because there are almost always a couple of isles with carts full of stock crates.

Good bargains. Store is filled to the max which makes it somewhat claustrophobic and disorienting. Metter store is helpful when you can't locate something. Company needs to rent or build larger stores.

The shelves in this store are not stocked well. At the time I was here there was another customer that was complaining about this stating that they never seem to have any trash bags on the shelves.

This store is the nastiest store in statesboro their selves are always empty and the employees are rude and they close before time also. I don't recommend anyone to shop there take the extra five minutes to go down the road

This place always looks like a tornado has been through it. There's always stuff piled around everywhere and things scattered about the floor. You can forget getting anyone to help you and you usually have to wait for someone to decide to come to the register to ring you out.

This dollar General location was awful. Worst one I've ever been in. Trash every where, boxes everywhere, one employee that either didn't care about a job or hasn't been trained. I don't plan on shopping here again.

Dollar General is always good for a quick pick up if you need something and don't want to fight Wal-Mart. This one is a good one and in a good neighborhood.

This store is always a MESS, never organized, every time I go there the isles are full of stuff in the way- there's always some kind of loud gospel music is blaring, manager has been seen numerous times walking around store while on his cell phone, AND the parking lot is littered with HUGE potholes, never repaired- I don't understand how it's not a fire hazard much less still in business, poor management
