Granted we showed up right before they were about to close but it was an emergency and this was the closest place near us. Our cat was in dire condition after we found him on the floor panting heavily and unable to move himself. The veterinarian turned us away in our time of need. Our pet desperately needed help and he turned us away. Some “hospital”. The only reason we went there first was because they call themselves an animal hospital and it was nearby. The receptionist was very kind and showing concern, helped us find other clinics to call. We had to drive 40 minutes to the next clinic. Sadly, our beloved feline friend is no longer with us. Soft Paws Animal Clinic and Urgent Care were our savior. They usually only do appointments but knew we needed help from the tone of my voice and told us to come right in. This experience will stay with us. I’m sure this clinic has helped and done right by others, but this was our experience.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review to express my utmost disappointment and grief over the tragic fate that befell my beloved dog, Lola, during her stay at Red Oak Animal Hospital. My dog, who had been a cherished part of our family for many years, tragically lost her life less than 24 hours of being home while under their care for a mere ten days.From the initial consultation, the staff at Red Oak Animal Hospital appeared friendly and professional, offering reassurances about their commitment to providing top-notch care for our pet. Unfortunately, this illusion quickly shattered as our worst nightmare came to fruition.Soon after dropping off our dog for her brief boarding period, we noticed a lack of communication regarding her well-being. Phone calls meant to check in on her progress were often met with vague answers or, in some instances, no response at all. These concerning signs left us worried and anxious about her safety.Finally, the day arrived for us to pick up our dog, and what should have been a joyous reunion turned into an unimaginable horror. We were met with a devastatingly thin pet looking like she had been wasting away while in their care. The emotions that followed are indescribable, as we must now face a future without our furry friend due to the negligence of Red Oak Animal Hospital.The lack of transparency and accountability displayed by the clinic following our dog's death was utterly disgraceful. Their insensitivity and unwillingness to provide any satisfactory explanation or compensation deepened our sorrow, leaving us with more questions than answers. It is abundantly clear that they do not value the lives entrusted to their care.I strongly caution any pet owner against entrusting Red Oak Animal Hospital with the well-being of their beloved furry companions. The negligent actions displayed by this establishment resulted in the untimely loss of our dog and have left an indelible mark of pain and suffering on our family.In conclusion, our experience with Red Oak Animal Hospital was nothing short of a tragedy. The utter lack of professionalism, accountability, and empathy during such a difficult time has made an already unbearable situation even worse. The loss of our dog will forever be associated with this establishment's negligent actions, and I sincerely hope that no other pet owner has to endure the same heartbreak we have experienced.

My Fur Babies and I all love this facility! The Docs, the Office Manager and the Receptionists are all happy, friendly, experienced professionals, efficient and loving in their own ways. The only time I will not go here is if it is an emergency and they direct me to a preferred ER VET in Fayetteville, GA. If you need to Board you should do it as soon as you know...Thank you all for the work you do to keep our Fur Babies safe.

My dog had hot spots. I was given antibiotic medication that cleared it up, however it came right back. I went to a different vet and found I was mis diagnosed. They also do not allow you to go to the back either your pet. I do not like that at all. The clinic is in a bad area as well.

Cant recommend this vet enough. Love supporting a small Black-owned business in my community. They really care about the animals but most importantly they don’t overcharge for their services or medications. I used to go to VCA but will not go back there anymore now I’ve found Red Oak. I also appreciate that they ask you to wear a mask - safety first.

Minus two stars because the dark-skinned older vet was extremely insensitive and rude towards me when I had to put my Maltese of 13 years down. He even made me feel like it was my fault because I refused his offer for an expensive treatment at a different facility that offered no guarantee to save his life. My dog was well-cared for his entire long dog life and I didn’t deserve to be treated so poorly at such a difficult time. Thankfully a different vet was able to see us on my dog’s final day. He was very understanding and compassionate. I would not return here again with my new pup bc of how I was treated however.

Doc and staff were great and caring, however building is small and there's no where for your pet to potty. The sliver of greenery for potty can be dangerous due to feces everywhere. Your pet could possibly get Ill prior to going in for an appointment.

Warning!! Don’t onboard your pet here! My dog caught flees in their facility. My dog is the only pet in my house and he goes routinely for grooming at petsmart and by myself being that he is a poodle. Never did he have flees. After picking him up from his stay from Thur-Mon I took him a bath and flees were everywhere!! He’s white and when wet they were very easy to detect. I called Red Oak, which is very hard to reach them unless they are around other customers and want to make it seem like they are doing their job, and they basically told me there was nothing they can do but charge me for flee prevention. No discount, no apology, no sympathy, nothing. Not to mention my dog is very sick/ lethargic after being there. This is very unfortunate and frustrating!

I had been going to this vet for 7 years until today!!! Will never go back they want you to wear a mask to come inside and do not offer you one to come in. They lost my business and I hope everyone follows. They wouldn’t just take the dog back like they normally do and have you wait in the car. I will be calling better bussiness buro as well.

This place is terrible. Doggy cousin came home with Fleas. This place refuse to treat our family pet for free. After we paid to house our fur baby during a family vacation. Run from this place if you love your fur babies.

Dr. Tolbert has been our vet for 10 years and treats us like family whether it's a quick checkup, ear surgery or emergencies. My dog was bitten in the face by a copperhead last week and he has received the best care. Dr. Tolbert and his staff listened to my concerns and took my dog's emergency seriously. They took great care of my dog and also helped to calm me down. They went above and beyond to give Solomon the appropriate care. The office staff and vet techs, especially Brittany, his office manager are amazing and communicated with me about everything they were doing. I have even received check up calls to make sure my dog (who is my family) is ok, and we got a clean bill of health after a week of treatment. I wouldn't take Solomon anywhere but here. I moved out of the neighborhood and I still drive to Red Oak Veterinary because I know we'll get the best care and service.

As always my 2 fur babies were treated with royalty. They don't leave home much and got all mixed up and made messes. The staff assured me they take care of accidents all of the time. And I helped them. Maybe for Ree Cee Cup & Lola Mae's next appoint they will be better and not shame momma. I give 5 stars.

It was not the experience I expected for my first time vet visit with my senior dog babies. I'm a little overprotective of my animals and had I known I wouldn't be present in the building while my pets were being checked, I would have prepared myself. My only recommendation would be too clearly and proactively set expectations with pet parents.I will be returning for teeth cleaning services mostly because I really appreciate the doctor calming my nerves regarding the care of my 13 year old pup who has never been away from his mother or someone he trusts. Not to mention this is black owned and operated. Stay tuned for updates. 🙏🏾

Took my puppy here for shots and ear clipping. I thought they would be more professional than they were. The office is completely understaffed which makes it hard to communicate with them. I paid for shots and ear clipping originally and they came back and told me the puppy didn't get any of her shots on top of the fact that her ear clipping procedure was terribly done. They look like something an amateur could've done. They also got severely infected while healing and I had to come back multiple occasions to fix this. I regret going here, you will too if you go.

We’ve had both of our cane corso’s ears cropped here. The doctor does a great job and it very attentive in the healing process. They need to post pictures on their website cause they do great work with ear cropping! They are a little hard to reach by phone at times, but that’s because they’re always busy!

All three of my fur babies are seen here and they all absolutely love Dr. Golden. The office staff are always courteous, always professional and keep things moving smoothly; very efficient at explaining things both in person and on the phone. Highly recommend.

I've been here once and Dr. Tolbert seemed ok. I mean, he is my dog's vet at the moment. We went for her first visit last August. He answered all of my questions when I asked them and was kind with my dog. She has another appointment coming up in September to be groomed and for her yearly visit.I can update at that time.04/09/2022Update-I would NEVER take my pet here again as someone at the front desk stole my debit card information and wired themselves money from my account!! It’s sad that people try but any means necessary to con people. My pet had already had a 3 year rabies shot tag on her collar when she went, but I was still charged a fee for a rabies shot. No I never got my money back for the illegal rabies charger, and I never got a chance to let the doctor know what happened with my debit card because no one EVER answers the phone. I believe the girls at the office check the voicemail as I left a message for Dr. Tolbert to call me back, but he never did.

I was able to call an setup an appointment for my puppy first shots and. But I have been trying to call and get details about the records will I be getting proof of records,charts and that tells me when next shots due proof of breed and to conformation and time of appointment after five attempts on multiple days I still haven't been able to get in touch with anyone. Forcing me to drive over to the place.😖😖😖😖
