Such an awesome little shop! They have a good selection of clothing and hats as well as some other things. All mainly with a cute black dog with white feet and the lady, I forget her name unfortunately, was very very friendly and informative! She told us they originally started in Martha's vineyard as a restaurant in the 70's and the black dog was the owners first rescue dog! but by the 90's they were selling so much clothing they switched to focus on that and now they have the one in Martha's vineyard and I believe 4 down the east coast. They donate a portion of certain things to rescues and basically the whole focal point is rescue dogs! And we just rescued a little Staffordshire terrier mix of some sort that almost matches their "black dog" perfectly! I could be wrong on some of that, my memory isnt great but I wanted to take the time to leave them and the lady working a great review! It was saturday January 5th right at 8:55 pm when we were there so if her bosses see this, now you'll know which lady it was and she deserves a pat on the back for being so genuine.

Both myself and my black dog Bella had a wonderful experience at your store. The young lady working there was so sweet. Unfortunately they do not have women’s plus size..but the lady working was so sweet to tell me which mens sizes would convert to my size. I left with a few items!! And my dog enjoyed being in the store and being fussed over. Can’t wait to go back at our next visit to Savannah!Oh and to people saying it’s pricy…they obviously did not buy anything because I’m not sure how I will take this off. It’s soooooo soft and comfortable worth every penny!

What a cute, awesome find! We knew about The Black Dog through their catalog so it was amazing to see the products in person. Mary Francis was so friendly and helpful, not only with our shopping but our stay too! We received great recommendations and loved hearing the history of the company.

The store was so overstocked, I could not get in to see anything in my wheelchair. After a few moments of looking in each direction to try and get in, the lady working started to say something to myself and my husband. I told her the store was not accessible for handicapped. She said, I can move anything so you can see...this would mean moving every single display on the floor. I told her again that I appreciate that, but it is completely unaccessable and to please tell management. I was then I formed that they had a small space to display alot of items, and that was why. And she then said she just worked there...My response was to please let the management know, that it is not my problem they have too small a space to display, but it was my problem that I can't shop due to the stores issues.I was not trying to be rude, but I was very disappointed and made to feel it was my fault the store could not accommodate me.

This Black Dog is located right on River St in charming Savannah. If you are a tourist visiting this city, I'm sure you will definitely wander by this shop.I spent summers growing up on Cape Cod, so I'm very familiar with this chain since it originated from Martha's Vineyard and I have owned a few of the famous t-shirts from here.The items here are a little on the pricey side, but they are surely iconic.They sell shirts and sweatshirts for the whole family, yes, even for your four legged child. I always admire the sweatshirts for the dog, but can't bring myself to spend the $ on it.In addition to apparel, they also have dog leashes, glassware, hats and much more.I loved the St Patrick's Day items that they sell her, so cute.This place is definitely worth a browse.

This is the cutest little shop! Everything they sell has a black lab mix on it. So this is a perfect place for dog lovers. They have high quality clothing and super cute mugs and the most fabulous smelling soy candles. The staff is super nice and helpful. There is a changing room to try things on. They also have a corner dedicated to dog things like treats, collars and leashes, and dog toys. I recommend the fire hose toys. My dog destroys all dog toys within in minutes but this toy much longer. They also have a children's section with clothing, plush toys, and a few books.

Their candles smell AMAZING. However, the tin can they have the candles in, leak the candle wax all over from the bottom of the tin can. They really need to put their candles in glass jars, to prevent the melted candle wax from leaking out everywhere.

Having two black lab mixes I love finding merchandise with black labs on it so this was an exciting find. The prices can be alil high which was disappointing because there was so much more I wanted to buy. Didnt stop me from getting a few things though.

We are dog people and when we saw this cute storefront we had to go check it out! WE LOVED IT. Everything was adorable and I wanted one of everything. I came away with a toy to bring home to the pups and a few baseball caps!

I live the Black Dog General store. I have been to the original store, and the store in Savannah is much smaller but has a lot of nice clothes and other merchandise.
