I came in to see the kittens. If one of them chose me I was going to adopt them. But it was 2 that chose me!!! A brother and sister. I'm so glad I went there. I couldn't be happier with the whole experience. Everyone was helpful! (Dasher) is now Bella and (Comet) is now Levi. Thank you! They are adjusting very well with our other furbabies Sammy and Alice.

I took my Pomeranian here and had his neuter appointment at 9. Took a min to get him checked in and it was a little unorganized but overall the surgery went well! He is recovering and doing quite well.

I didn’t want to leave a bad review but I’m so upset that this happened to my mom. My mom came in yesterday and fell in love with a kitten named Pollie after meeting and playing with her. She said she couldn’t take her yesterday but could take her today and would fill out the paperwork to adopt her. The shelter staff told her they don’t put kittens on hold, only adult cats so my mom came in today to adopt her. When she got there she was told by the shelter staff that Pollie was put on hold for a man who saw her picture online and called in. Now my mom is crying in her car in the shelter parking lot. The shelter staff told the man that my mom wanted to adopt her, and then they let this man put Pollie on hold after telling my mom that they don’t put kittens on hold. This is all sorts of messed up. You shouldn’t enforce policies if you’re going to give people special treatment. This is so disappointing.

This place is excellent. Right off of Eisenhower & Truman Pkwy (Sallie Mood in front of Savannah United's Soccer complex). I have used them before for Spay/Neuter + shots. They accept feral animals. Unless aggressive dogs. They are very reasonable and help the community with strays and controlling the cat/dog population. Work with them closely and you will be very pleased. Busy, busy.. of course. Great staff and Vets

We explained to the staff what our needs were, and they found us the perfect new best friend! The process was quick and easy and the staff were so friendly, it's obvious they just want to find loving homes for everyone. We love her so much already, and we're so grateful to have found her.

The staff try their best to accommodate people that walk in - like me. Providing as much information as they could in addition to what they have on the outside of the dog’s homes about them, which I appreciate. Thank you for all your hard work and volunteering svcs.

Staff and volunteers are all so wonderful! The cat area is really cool and you can tell the dedication to their mission of caring for animals in crisis. I learned so much about cats at one of their bottle feeding classes. Great hookup for online resources for pet care, too! I consider the Humane Society an important part of the community and I love visiting this place.Additional update: adopted two amazing kitties from here and couldn’t be happier!!!

They do a good Community Service. My Son got his dog Thorne there back in 2017. She had a hard time adjusting from being a street dog but with patience and love she is great now.

This place is amazing, they are always friendly and they really care about the animals they care for. I got a dog here and she is amazing. They make sure that the animal you want to adopt will fit in well at home and get along with everyone. Make sure you tell them the living situation so that they can help you find a good friend. There is also a second hand store right above the adoption center, just follow the stairs up. All the funds go to helping the animals.

I usually take the dogs (three goldendoodles) and the two cats for vaccines and flea treatments. This last time I was told the rabies vaccine can be for only a year, even though the toy poodle has had a vaccine last year.I thought the Humane society was the most affordable place for this things but actually the mobile vet clinic EZpet or something like that is cheaper, with better customer service, and less crowded. There's a veterinarian on site at the mobile clinics, and at the Humane society the ladies who came to get my dog didn't want to answer a simple question about a coloration on my dog's fur.I won't be taking my dogs there anymore.

i adopted my pup here a year ago. i’m so grateful i came across this shelter, everyone is so nice. i was in georgia visiting my sister when i saw the shelter and had no intention of leaving with a dog but i did. thank you guys for trusting me without a home visit or bringing in my other dog. they are best friends.

Ok, please, for the love of that pet you are having to let go of, bring here, and pay the very reasonable fee to have these wonderful people re-home them!! Look and follow the process online. If you are in the market for a new forever family member,adopt don't shop! Are you retired, or just don't want the responsibility for a lifetime? Check into fostering a pet in the comfort of a real home so they make better forever pets and are happier while they wait!! Win-win!! Might even be able to help you keep your pet if it's a temporary hardship you are going through,,again see online info! Volunteers check with them to see what they need,,or just donate a few bucks to help! Spay and neuter help as well!! Check their Webs!😁

My wife and I just moved here from Fl and she has been very lonely since our big move so I decided to take her to find a new fur friend to cheer her up. The moment she saw Creed she did not want to look any further. We are beyond happy with our decision to adopt from the humane society of greater savannah. Trent was very helpful and made the process of adopting very simple and he really was very concerned of our new family members well being! Creed is an amazing addition to our family and our kids adore him!

My mom went here to donate blankets etc for the animals so time ago and when she dropped them off they weren’t grateful at all. She accidentally left her phone so she went back to go grab it and when she did they were just throwing all the things she brought in a dumpster. Very rude to me how you ask to have things donated and then just throw it all away right in there face!

We adopted our cat, Bailey, from this place after we fostered him during the possible hurricane evacuation in September 2018. He got along so well with our dogs we decided to keep him.We surrendered 4 abandoned kittens here for adoption a few months earlier that we had rescued and socialized for about 8 weeks sadly to have them euthanized due to FIV.EDIT January 2019: HUMANE SOCIETY STAFF INFORMED ME THAT THEY NOW HAVE AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT MEDICAL TEAM AND WILL NO LONGER EUTHANIZE KITTENS THAT TEST FIV/FELV POSITIVE. THEY WILL KEEP THEM ISOLATED AND MAKE THEM AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.Two more kittens found their way to our house last October. They tested FIV/FELV negative so we fostered them for three months and surrendered them for adoption. We named them Jack and Jillian. They were adopted quickly.I'm a terrible foster parent because I miss them terribly but unable to care for them and Bailey too. 😢Update: The family that adopted Jillian was not a good fit for her so she was returned to HSGS on 3/8/19, 30 days after they adopted her.We discovered her on the website that night and adopted her today. Everybody seems happy about her return but she now seems to want to be the queen of the house. 😊

I called them because I cannot take care of my pet anymore. I have two jobs and also allergic. I called and called and no one ever answers the phone or returns your phone call. I only got called back once with interest of taking one of my pets in and that’s it. Now I’m left in the dark not knowing what’s next or where my pet could go. It’s already enough strain I have to part ways and now I’m not home to take care of my pet properly. It would be nice if someone could return my phone calls. It’s been more than 2 weeks.Update: there is only one person who handles this position, which honestly doesn’t make any sense if they get sick or cannot come in for work. There needs to be another designated person to help out. Otherwise, I got a call back and was greatly helped. Thank you so much!
