A kind of a helper yourself atmosphere. I was a little concerned when I stopped in there for the first time to see employee walking around with a gun on his hip. Must be a rough neighborhood. That's why I like Lowe's. Crime rate there must be high if you have to wear a gun.

Might as well find another place to get your hardware needs met! This store is NEVER EVER OPEN. They are off early for this or for that. Typically the website shows them to be open and then their door has a note on it. It is rather disturbing too. Especially when there is zero places within a 20 minute drive time to get any little small hardware item from. I have come to this store four times in the last three days and every single time they are already closed! Might as well shut them down completely

Bummed. I liked the store and the folks in there-nice, friendly, always ask if they can help. I bought several very high dollar items in there including a chainsaw. After few years I took it in for a sharpening. I was told that was about 15 bucks. Then I was told the chain had some damage. I asked how much a new one would be and was quoted about 30 bucks. When I paid, it was 50 bucks. They charged me 20 for labor. Had I known they were going to charge me to put on the chain I would have done it myself. IT TAKES TWO SECONDS TO PUT A CHAIN ON THIS CHAINSAW. Twenty dollars? I didn't say anything, when I feel a store has ripped me off I just don't go back and I might leave a review. This has been one of those times. Sometimes it is better to let it out in a review rather than make a scene at the store or put some hourly worker on the spot who doesn't make the policy. I assume it is a Ace corporate influenced fee or something-bad business though. I really liked the store and the people. I felt good buying local and not Home Depot in Hartwell. It was however thoughtless not to tell me there would be a charge on just putting the chain on. I paid $20 to see Bob Dylan. I paid $20 for a steak dinner. Never would I pay $20 to put a chain on a chainsaw! I hate it, but they lost a good steady customer, with a very old house that needs a steady hardware store...back to the big boxes I go.

Love the personal and excellent neighborhood atmosphere the staff works hard providing everyone that enters their store each and every visit. Absolutely love this location as it has been a great experience and far above home Depot an. Other Ace hardware stores I have been to.

After wandering the aisles for the better part of 10 minutes looking for what I needed, I, finally, flagged down a store employee and asked where I could find what I was looking for and she led me straight to it. The place wasn't busy at all and typically customer service is more responsive in asking if i can be helped.Petty complaint, yes but surely I'm not alone in my frustration with wandering aisles trying to find what I need and can't without being asked to help find something.

Made a 20 mile trip for 1 needed emergency repair item. Arrived at 4:01 as last customer went out the door. Young man rudley slammed door in my face and said we are closed.

I had just moved into the area and needed to pick up a couple of things. I was greeted with a smile the store is laid out well exceptionally clean and again the employees were outstanding. As I said, I was met with a smile, the woman who first greeted me came from behind the counter walked me exactly to where the item I needed was and literally pointed to it. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend going into this store for anything that you might need that they would carry. I have a feeling I will be spending plenty of my spendable cash at this particular store.

I ordered online and saw that this store was charging 19.99 for the exact same product (a Christmas tree stand) that is 14.99 at Ace in Danielsville. I'm not sure why that is, so just be aware that the location you shop at could make a big difference in what you pay. I've noticed the same thing between Athens Ace Hardware and in Colbert (and saved money by shoppping in Colbert).The store had my order ready in an hour and twenty minutes and I just popped in and picked it up on the way to Beck's Christmas Tree Farm.Overall, the store looked well-stocked and well-organized, the cashier was quick to assist me when I walked in, and he got my order correct.If you found this review helpful, please give it a thumbs up. Employees are extremely helpful everytime I have visited was greeted coming in the door and given whatever assistance I needed as well as sugesting what product would best for whatever project I might be working on at the time love this location they go above and beyond just customer service I work painting and and what not across the southern states as well as summers in mi and have visited many of aces locations this one is by far the best

One of the GREATEST HARDWARE STORES I'VE HAD THE PLEASURE TO VISIT.SINCE WE MOVED TO ROYSTON. THE STAFF DESERVES MORE THAN 5 STARS MORE LIKE 10PLUS. THE MOST CUSTOMER FRENDLY AND KNOW THEIR STORE AND PRODUCTS. I JUST SAY ENOUGH THAT HOW LUCKY I'M GOT YO KNOW THEM . EXCELLENT BEYOND THE HORIZON EXPERIENCE EVER . THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Not that they don't try, but the worst customer service. The lady at the gun counter helped one customer. Then left me standing at the gun case and never came back. Then the gentleman that helped me with ammo, helped me a saw blade for vinyl siding when I asked a blade for Hardie plank. Really? A blade for vinyl when I need a blade for concrete.On top of all that, no one was at the register and I'm the only one in line and he rings up another customer, while I'm standing there. The other cashier shows up and rings up 3 other customers, while this cashier final finishes with 1 customer.I can see why little mom and pop hardware stores go out of business. I will never go to this hardware store again. I go to a hardware store for the knowledge and will pay the extra price for what I need. From now on,. I will drive the extra hour to go to Lowe's or Home Depot.
