Dr. Conrad and his team were amazing with my cat Olive! They took great care of her and made sure she was comfortable during her entire appointment. She had never been here before, but I called them when she was sneezing/lethargic/not eating and the other vets she had been to before couldn't get her in for a week. They offered me a same day and next day appointment. I couldn't do the same day but took the next day. I couldn't go to the appointment due to work but had someone else bring her. Dr. Conrad made sure to call me to update me about his findings, which was much appreciated. He gave me multiple treatment options and I didn't feel forced into any of the options. He also gave me follow up instructions/treatment plans in case she does not start feeling better. Overall, we had a great experience with Animal Medical Center of Rome! I am very grateful for their help and getting her on the road to feeling better.

My 3yr old Gaia girl has been part of the AMCR since she was 4 weeks old!! And now my kittens, Finn & Sawyer (Huckleberry Finn & Tom Sawyer 😁) are also cared for by them. Most compassionate, friendly, and professional staff!! Dr. Melissa and crew are our favorite 🐾

Very professional and caring. My cat was approached with experienced personnel. She was made comfortable with every procedure. Today was our fur baby’s first visit at the clinic. I cannot praise them enough. The front staff are wonderful and communicate very well. The treating staff were super informative and got us a care plan together for our girl.

Best vet in Rome! I love all the time and attention they give to my little dog. Melissa is excellent when it comes to taking care of him, and I like that she always explains things thoroughly so I understand what I need to do to keep him healthy. ALL the vet techs and office staff are wonderful!

First time there and I was impressed! First you receive a detailed questionnaire by email regarding your pet which I found very helpful. Everyone in the office was so caring and thoughtful when handling my dog. Dr. Conrad was so nice..explaining everything until I understood! We are moving to Alabama the first os next year but i will definitely be. Bringing my doggie back to them for everything!

The staff and Dr. Edwards are all so kind. I must say the clinic always clean and you feel like it is a very sterile environment. I feel like the amount of compassion they show for our dog is so comforting. I appreciate their kindness they show not only to us but to our dog as well.

I had to find my fur baby a new doctor as we moved from the Midwest. I didn't know what to expect and even had nightmares about the visit. The techs were so good with my baby and her doctor is amazing!! He made sure she was in good health and thoroughly went through everything. Have used Animal Medical Center for many years, they are the only ones I trust with my fur babies. They have been caring for us from new additions thru end of life and are truly caring in all stages. Melissa and all her girls are like family. I haven't met the new vet yet, but if Melissa approved I'm sure he's top notch.

Melissa and her team have been there for us time and time again. Over the years that my wife and I have been bringing our animals here, we aways recieve solid advice, smiles in times of good news and heartfelt sympathy in times of not so good news. The entire staff treats our animals as their own and we couldn't trust them more. In the bad times we have never left wondering if there was something else that should be done. We always know the team here gives it their all. They have our love, appreciation and respect, I could never imagine taking our animals anywhere else.

Benji does not like the vet and is usually a nervous wreck. He was still nervous, but the staff were kind and attentive, and Benji seemed not to mind as much as usual. Dr. Conrad answered all my questions and had some useful tips for helping Benji shed a few pounds. Great visit!

My baby Teyha been going to them since she was 7 weeks old, she is now 3, and they are so good to her. She not nervous being there, she enjoys visiting them. The staff treats me and my baby wonderfully. They do charge more than the others around, HOWEVER they are WORTH it

The place was beautiful, and the staff were so sweet and kind to me and my cat, Kuuya. They treated him like he was one of their own, and the Dr. went over everything with me thoroughly and made sure I knew what was going on. I cannot recommend them enough! They are fantastic and I will always be coming back for all of my pet health needs.

Dr Conrad has scammed a good near $2,000 from us for bare minimum - basic blood work, charges extra to X-ray both sides, and did nothing to address my heart disease cats breathing issues. He becomes defensive and argumentative when you question his reasoning on things. At first he said she wasn’t anywhere near her end and if anything she may be inching into CKD. He dismissed the obvious fluid she had on her lung that needed tapping. He then told me on the phone that she was at her end and was end stage CKD (she’s not) and did not want to prescribe Cerenia to combat the vomiting which was a side effect of the fluid buildup. He said just keep her comfortable and I told him Cerenia would help that. He finally gave in but didn’t care about a patient needing priority care. He claimed he’d look over her ultrasound and tell me what the fluid volume on her abdomen was. He never called back. He was positive and kind when he was getting money from us but that quickly changed when I challenged his reasons. They originally scammed us out of $500+ for a simple urinalysis to diagnose a uti by lying and saying they undercharged. Dr Conrad will steal your money and dismiss a ailing pet because he’s incompetent and unreliable as a doctor. In the human world of medicine this is malpractice. We rushed my baby to a more reliable vet who did X-rays, ultrasound and a chest tap to remove fluid off her lung that he missed for $480. They also agreed Cerenia would be good to keep on hand. Didn’t even question it. We will never let Dr Conrad take advantage of our love and willingness for our furbaby again. And I advise you to stay away from this vet if you have a cat with heart issues because he is more concerned about the kidneys than ensuring a CHF patient can breathe. My cat’s cardiologist has always said heart over kidneys… My baby is feeling better. She is not at her end nor dying. This quack just doesn’t know what he’s doing other than overcharging. What we paid him for basic checkup stuff is what you’d expect to pay a specialist or pay for emergency care. Disgusting and I’m angry at myself for thinking I was seeing a vet I could trust. I thought their business rating and good reviews and claim of being cat certified looked promising but lesson learned. So I have to keep my review limited to so many words but want to warn others about our experience here

Amazing experience. I got an Alaskan Malamute and I wanted to make sure I made a good choice when choosing his vet. This center was more on the pricey side but I felt good after leaving. I don’t mind paying the extra money to make sure that he gets the beat treatment, she didn’t make me feel rushed but dedicated almost 2 hours to our consult and answered every single one of my questions. I had an accident when I arrived since my puppy pooped in my car (this was the first time it happened so I was freaking out) I called and they washed my car mat because it got dirty and helped me clean my car. Right away I knew I chose the right place. My puppy had an accident and they didn’t see it as an inconvenience but rather helped me right away and took him inside to rinse him. Very happy, this is the place for your puppy.

I was very impressed at my first visit with Dr. Edwards and the staff. Dr. Edwards did not just do a quick 15 to 30 minute exam with her new patient (My English Shepherd).... instead, she spent well over an hour with my ES examining him well and obtaining his history. Dr. Edwards was very thorough and checked my ES from head to toe. She noted right away he was far sighted. We suspected this and she confirmed. She showed us he had an Iris body in his left eye which we were not aware. She explained so much to us in great detail and this is what I want from a vet. Her staff is not only polite but knowledgeable. In my opinion, the staff in a vet clinic needs to be very knowledgeable as well. I have visited other clinics where some of the staff do not know much. That concerned me because the techs are a very important part of the vet team. Five Stars to Dr. Edwards and her staff !

Dr Conrad discovered an ear infection and treated it....with daily help from me for a while, but best, he emailed me inquiring abut Connor and suggesting some follow-up procedures. I did not get a chance to meet him, however. Connor seemed just fine after his first visit to Dr Conrad.

No better Vet anywhere. Dr. Melissa Edwards is the best and treats your pet like it was hers. She treats the pet owners like family members too. The staff is great. We love them all and cannot imagine not having this excellent group of professionals to take care of us all.
