Long road trip, we like to stop at fun restaurants in new small towns. Got there at 8:30 at night. Was fairly busy but lots of open tables. From sit down to getting food, was 40-50 minutes. Then the steak was over cooked, cold and not seasoned. If the steak going to be over cooked, I’d at least want it hot. They ran out of cheese grits and only told us as they brought our food out. Only good thing was the donuts served. Server never once checked on us, or asked how our food was. Had to ask for check. He never even asked if we wanted a Togo box, for half our food on our plates, as if he knew the food was bad.

Another honest review is on its way.I’d give this place 3.5 if it would let me.Service was good. 4 stars easily enough.Food is a solid 3.Just like many small town hole in the walls, due to low amount of competition they can set the standard. The food was cooked well but they could use a bit more seasoning on the food. The fried okra, cheese sticks, and deviled crab was straight from the frozen food section. Not that great, the oysters stew was oyster, milk, butter. Now I’m ok with simple but it was plain. Like no salt, pepper, onion, garlic, heavy cream was added. I give the soup 1.5 stars. Don’t get it.The chicken tenders, shrimp, sweet potato fries, and cheese grits was very good though.If ya like the review send me a like.

Best place in a small town. I have never eaten a steak with a plastic fork, but it was worth it. The food was well portioned and tasty. Good fried pickles. Fast and friendly service.Kid-friendliness: There were a few of these creatures there.

First time trying this place out. A little old fashion on decor. But nice and clean. Friendly service. Had the steak with shrimp. The steak was excellent. This is a place I would eat at again, over we had a really good experience.

Cat fish house !!! Wow !! where do I begin at well today the food was the nasty food we have ever had ,the fist time we came it was amazing but after that the food was get more worse then the second time and then man that served us was like we cook it fresh and it’s was not we waited for all this time to get cold food and he had and attitude top of that when we told him the food was cold I’m not going back again. 🤬😡 it’s so hard to keep good food served when you are paying a lot of money for two blows of grits two drinks was $11.62 So no stars for them but you have to add one just to do the review 😡😡.. But from the first time second time we spent $40 to $50 dollars for two people it’s was very good that first time but it’s was not about the money it’s just we should’ve gotten fresh food like the first time, I just didn’t know what happened or why after the first time coming to them that the food was not amazing like when we first started going there and I actually thought that we found a good restaurant to eat so hopefully you read this before you go to eat there. Just beware .Parking: None it’s like you have to find your own parking spot down the street or across or next to other business.

Very disappointed. Started with the young woman who was hostess arguing and talking back to her co-worker at that front counter. Our waitress was sweet but not a fit for that profession. Several mistakes. Our food lacked a lot to be desired. Potatoes were hard and cold. Broiled fish was terrible. Would not recommend.

Always get the seafood platter. They no longer do substitutions of fish. I don't like that. We used to be able to substitute flounder for the catfish for an extra charge.. That does not bother me in the slightest. My wife and I do not care for any kind of fish we have pick off the bone. So I did not get platter. Other than that is was okay. I do id order the flounder meal and it good.

We had not been here in several years. They didn't have Diet Coke - was told that they had to change it out, but she came back and stated that they were out of it. Food was very bland and over cooked. Wife had grilled tilapia and I had fried shrimp. Baked potatoes were over cooked and were not good. It will be a long time again if we return.

Best fish in town. We have a meal whenever we're in Ocilla visiting family. This is one of a few places where my husband can get his favorite fish (mullet). The service is always great and we look forward to returning soon.

First time I have dined here and hope to be back often. My husband and our friends were seated immediately in a pretty spot. The place was clean and lots of windows made it bright and open. The food was served promptly and it was very good! The prices were reasonable too. I recommend the Catfish House in Ocilla, GA!

I have known this place since high school. It has always been a favorite for people in our area. We had lunch there yesterday, & it was so good we went back for dinner. Not many restaurants have ever, done that for my appetite. Both times were absolutely delicious . I would definitely do it again. I would highly recommend their Catfish. If you have a very healthy appetite, get the all-you-can-eat. For Dinner I had the Fried Oysters. I was not disappointed, They were the best batter, not too heavily battered. I would yell anyone to go there & enjoy. Service was More than Accommodating.

You cannot beat the portion sizes for the cost! Arrive hungry ready to take home some leftovers. Everything was delicious! They're handicap accessible and very friendly. Will return soon.

Best salmon I have ever eaten. It is char-grilled!Fantastic steak too. Melt in your mouth tender. Seasoned just right so the taste of the meat is enhanced...you taste steak, not seasoning. Fried shrimp excellent. Best meal my husband and I have had in a while! Casual, family-friendly dining. Great service!

I finally ate here, and this place lived up to its reputation. Such wonderful appetizers and fried fish. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. The menu includes fried pickles and steak! I will be back here because I love the atmosphere and the food and the people. Take the opportunity to give them a shot!

Delicious shrimp! Catfish filets were a little over cooked, and underseasoned but edible. Hush puppies and fritters were kinda picky but the crust was tasty. Overall, food was good and good quality.

I can't for the life of me figure out all the hype about this place. Ordered the fried catfish filets (their signature dish) with sides of baked sweet potato and fried okra. First, our server Austin, was not friendly at all. The complimentary hush puppies were nothing to write home about. (Spivey's hush puppies are addicting!) The fish was barely detectable, although the batter was tasty. The okra was fried well but the batter had no seasoning and tasted very bland (Rusty Pig in Odum has the BEST fried okra!) The baked sweet potato was not fully cooked and the inside was still hard. Austin must have passed back and forth by our table 20 times but not once did he stop to ask if everything was okay. Very disappointed that we drove all the way over from Nicholls to Ocilla. Next time we are in that area, we'll go back to Pecks, at least you can find and taste the fish!

Great food. The grilled grouper is my favorite. Staff is nice. I would give 5 stars but when there is a wait, there is a tiny space to wait in that gets very crowded because guest paying are in the same tiny spot. Would be nice if you could pay at your table.
