My husband and I had lunch at Mary’s Bread basket on Saturday. We wanted to try a local spot near Big Canoe. I’m so glad we stopped in because this place is a gem! The tuna sandwich on cheddar jalapeño was delicious and my chipotle chicken salad was fresh and savory. We had enough to take home for a snack later and we also got a slice of coconut cake to go. The cake is a bit heavy on the frosting, but that’s an easy fix. I’d like to try the strawberry cake next time. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. The ladies who took our order and served us were both very nice and ready with suggestions. Make sure to let them know you want to add a tip before they run your card (no Amex). We didn’t know that and scrambled for some cash. We ended up getting a jalapeño cheddar loaf to go because the bread is so good!

Had an excellent Philly cheese steak on wheat sandwich. The meat and cheese were hot and steamy but the bread held up well. The potato salad had bacon into it. It was very thick, a bit fry and needed pepper and salt where there was no bacon. The sandwich was Excellent! My wife had a chicken salad sandwich on a cranberry walnut bread that she liked a lot. Soft drinks are available in cans and they have sweet and unsweetened tea. Figure about $12 per person for a very filling sandwich, chips and drink.I will go back if in the area.

Close to Gibb's Gardens. We order 2 Ruben & 1 Chicken Salad sandwich with a side of chips & a pickle. You can select the homemade bread they have available.We had 1 Cinamon Roll that we ask to warm it & is delicious. Glad we tried this place :-)

We were looking for breakfast and Mary's came recommended. The lady at the register greeted us friendly, took our order, we got ourselves coffee and sat down. Nothing worse than receiving your eggs, hashbrowns and ham thrown into a one compartment foam container, very unappealing

This place is awesome. We got a breakfast sandwich every morning during our stay at the Big Canoe resort. The sandwiches were big enough for my husband and I to share. We also enjoyed a couple of muffins, banana nut and blueberry, and the apple cake. Everything was so good!

This place is amazing! The bread is so good! I had the Mary’s favorite (pimento cheese, with bacon and tomato, grilled) on rye bread and it was incredible. My daughter had a BLT on the country white bread and it was delicious too. I also highly recommend the cookies, they’re giant and the very best oatmeal raisin cookie I’ve ever had!

This place is the absolute best - amazing sandwiches and great homemade breads and love the potato salad. Breakfast is phenomenal, but gotta get there early to get a biscuit, they are generally sold out by 930 AM. Cinnamon rolls and cakes are amazing too, but also sell out pretty quick. They also have gluten free bread option which is really good (might need to call ahead to verify they have GF on the day because they can run out). I literally eat here everyday I'm within a 25 minute drive.

Found this place by chance, and so very happy that I did. (If you're having trouble finding it, drive around to the other side of the building.) The chicken salad on cranberry walnut was fantastic! Very generous portions, and one of the tastiest chicken salad sandwiches I've ever had. We got some desserts to go, which were wonderful as well. Will definitely be returning.*Bonus* Check out Feather's Edge Vineyards, about 15 minutes away from this restaurant, for a glass of wine or wine tasting, music, plus a shop full of amazing, one-of-a-kind artisan-made treasures!

Live music starting up after we'd ordered or we would have left. As it was the dining room was painfully loud with a guy in a fedora singing, accompanying himself on a keyboard with the volume turned up to 11. The noise would have been unpleasant even if it had been at a volume appropriate for the size of the room. I had to eat on a bench in the hall. Potato salad was very good, tea was very good, chicken salad was fairly dry.

Great place for sandwiches and some baked goods. Fresh bread, muffins and cookies! We went based on the photos I saw others post and we were glad that we did after our time at Amicalola Falls State Park. The pimento cheese sandwich was delicious. A great find!

So good! We ended up here because of other restaurants in the area having incorrect business hours, but what a happy little accident! We had the chicken salad on cranberry walnut bread, the club on country white, and a chocolate chip cookie. Every bit of it was as delicious as could be. Currently have a slice of Italian Creme cake and a piece of Cream Cheese Pound Cake waiting to be devoured tomorrow...

The bread... I'm still salivating over it and trying to find it's like! The cranberry loaf is the best ever! Loved their breakfast sandwich. My kids thought the biscuits were too dry, unfortunately.

Good prices and portions, but lacking any real oomph to the food. Had an SEC Biscuit. Biscuit was a little dry and the sausage wasn't anything to write home about. That said, the biscuit didn't fall apart as it does at some places(didn't need a fork to eat it). The eggs were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning.

Twice to town and twice I’ve had a takeaway from Mary’s. I had the chipotle chicken the first time and the pimento cheese with bacon and tomato the second. Generous portions on both topped the homemade jalapeño cheddar bread. The red skin potato salad is full of flavor. I splurged and had a piece of pound cake this last time. I wasn’t disappointed. They do have an outside dining area if that interests you.

They have the best homemade bread ever! The sandwiches are huge, enough for 2 people to share. The desserts are incredible also. If you are in the area, make it a point to eat here!

Went to Mary's Bread Basket today a usually good place. They were out of several things, including bacon, olives and thousand island dressing. There is a grocery store 150 feet away! They said they did not have time to go get the stuff. I offered to do it and was met with a rude stare and reply. Much rather have the ability to make a customer what they ordered rather than make a list of what you CAN'T do!

Great little sandwich shop - off the beaten path but worth the detour if you are in the mountains for apples. Great bread and desserts too. I ordered the chicken salad on toasted cranberry walnut bread, YUM!

We lunched here today. I had the Rueben sandwich on multigrain bread. Loads of corned beef, Sause and suerkraut were excellent along with potatoe salad. My wife had the ham sandwich on wheat bread which she said was very good. Staff friendly, dining room spacious. I will return for the coconut cake soon! It looked so good.

Went there a few weeks ago and wanted to order a corned beef sandwich and was told that they were out, really! I at that point just took a loaf of cranberry pecan bread home with me and was extremely disappointed in it. I hated it. It was very tastless and had no sugar whatsoever in it that I would have expected to have tasted, so it tasted very very bland.

My favorite at Mary's Bread Basket is the chipotle chicken sandwich on jalapeno bread. Opting for the potato salad is a must over the bag of chips! The staff is always super friendly and I have never left disappointed!
