I really hate giving one-star reviews because I understand that mistakes can happen, and it's not fair to damage someone's reputation. However, I feel compelled to share my recent experience. We brought our 8-month-old puppy to this clinic because she was drooling and having difficulty breathing. Unfortunately, the service we received was more than unsatisfactory. Here's a breakdown of what happened:Upon arrival, we had to wait without a receptionist present. We were unsure if it was even open since it was quiet & no one came out to greet us.The initial quoted price significantly increased upon our return, without even including the recommended overnight stay. The doctor attributed our puppy's breathing issues to trauma, mentioning an enlarged heart but lacking expertise in cardiology.Seeking a second opinion, we visited VEG Emergency Vet Marietta, where they diagnosed a severe enlarged heart condition and advised against surgery due to our puppy's young age.We decided to euthanize our puppy, and VEG only charged us for that service. ( not charging us for exams & oxygen provided)We paid a total of $1589 just for Westside Animal Hospital to blame her breathing problems on Trauma & creating conflict between me and my dog nanny since she was caring for her while I was away . ( we thought our puppy was kicked since that’s what the doctor was saying (trauma) & since we do not hit our dogs we had no other explanation than to question our nanny )The lack of clarity and empathy at the initial clinic left us feeling frustrated and unheard during such a distressing time.In hindsight, I am grateful we sought a second opinion promptly, avoiding unnecessary expenses and ensuring our puppy did not suffer needlessly.

Our puppy seemed to us to be having episodes of seizures. Upon arrival our puppy was took straight back. They were very knowledgeable and caring which means alot when your freaked out in full anxiety bc something is wrong with your baby. The doc admitted her over night and updated us with videos to insure us she was OK. Our nurse was so great in reassuring us she would pull through. I hands down would pay any amount to keep my dogs here with us. They took great care of our puppy and got her every bit back to her normal punky self.Thank you WestSide

I cannot thank Westside enough for their care for my cat on a Friday night. I was met by very friendly and helpful staff members and Dr. Barnes. Being that my cat was a senior and had several health diagnoses throughout his life, they took everything into consideration when it came to assessing him. What I appreciated the most was the discussions with me about pricing, even though I was clear that I would do what it took. Dr. Barnes even changed course and re-worked up pricing when she could have just gone ahead and done all of the services then. I felt like we were in the best hands since such a caring doctor was not only looking out for her patient, but for the patient's family. They took great care of my cat overnight and were amazing when I picked up the next morning, keeping him stable so we could get to our regular vet at open. Extremely thorough and sweet medical notes were provided to me so that I could give a rundown of these to our DVM. I am convinced my cat was given the best chance that night because of their care and dedication to their patients. I wrote a thank you email as well to them, but I want them to know via this review that I will forever be grateful for all of their work. Thank you Dr. Barnes & staff for your love and care for my cat in the hardest of circumstances.

The ER staff at Westside was AMAZING!! I went in on a Saturday night and they were busy which is expected with any type of emergency clinic but they were prompt and thorough with looking out for my Boone who had opened up his stitches after a surgery😩 they talked me through their estimate and what to expect with his surgery. It was more on the expensive which once again, I expected considering it is emergency services and they are here at all hours of the night, weekends and even holidays they told me! So happy to have someone like the caring people of Westside to be here when I can’t get to my regular vet! I would recommend them over and over again!! Fingers crossed I never have an emergency situation but if I do, I know exactly where to go!!

I had a pleasurable experience under the unfortunate circumstances. The clinical staff were very knowledgeable, kind, caring and professional. The pricing was in line with the appropriate services offered in the setting. I would definitely recommend.

The Nurse and Doctor was absolutely great. They treated our Sadie and was gentle and very professional she seemed to love them as much as they did her. Highly recommend them and will use again if needed.

I had to rush my sweet Lola up there because she was hit by a car. The staff was so sweet. Unfortunately my baby passed away right after they got her in a room but they took great care in wrapping her up for me loading her back into my car so I could bring her home to bury her. They also let me and my daughter come in and have sometime with her after she passed. It made it even more special for us that they made us paw prints and gave a card. In one of the hardest times for us they showed compassion!

AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!. Opt for Blue Pearl instead the drive is worth your dogs safety. Read the reviews. Tonight, I brought my dog here due to severe issue in pooping and mucus in poop. The tech was helpful and attentive, but everything took a turn when Dr. Myers entered. Her demeanor was unwelcoming, and her questions were accompanied by eye rolls. Despite being the sole customer, I felt dismissed. When I tried to show her a picture, she snapped, "I did not ask you to show me anything, just answer my questions." I promptly requested my dog back, sensing the negative atmosphere. Spare yourself the disappointment—these recurring issues in service are echoed in numerous reviews. Note the common contact number shared in review responses, leads only to the main office. Save your time and choose Blue Pearl for better care.

Called this morning around 7:00 because my dog was dying and screaming in pain and the vet's office in Carrollton was closed when it was supposed to be open. I was told if I took my dog here, I would have to wait until 10:00 because the vet was in surgery, then the receptionist just hung up on me. I had to go to Fayetteville because they actually cared about my dog and told me to bring her right in. I really hope y'all are nicer to animals than you are people

I recently visited on a Sunday due to my diabetic cat having severely low blood sugar and becoming lethargic. Dr. Barnes was very knowledgeable, kind, and truly listened and talked through the plan of treatment. The vet tech and nurse were extremely kind as well. My baby made a full recovery and is doing so much better now. Frankie, I believe the vet nurse, even called to check on my cat a day after discharge to make sure he was doing well. You can tell they truly care about your animals well being. This is the best emergency vet clinic I have been to.

Booked and busy, referred us to Atlanta location for 24hr emergency hospital. Nice staff. They were open on Sunday but wait times were a while to get in. They can only do what they can, not upset thx for referral to other places.

our fur baby was hit by a car on a Sunday night around 8:30,we were all screaming & my daughter had sense enough to call Westside Animal ER Clinic. The staff took us in immediately & was so comforting, the Vet came out to talk to us, she did the labs & X-rays & explained everything to us to calm us down.Clinic kept Benji overnight, called to give us updates on his condition. The next morning referred us to the Blue Pearl.I am convinced the excellent service & awesome Vet saved Benji's life. Thank you from my soul.

I took my very sick dog to Westside late on a Saturday night and was met by Dr. Myers immediately. She showed genuine concern and gave insightful feedback about the potential cause of my dog's serious symptoms. Dr. Myers realized how anxious I was and brought her frenchie in (looks the same as my baby ) to comfort me while they were getting labs. My dog had to stay overnight to be monitored, and the staff checked in with me regularly to tell me how he was doing. When I picked him up, Dr. Myers met with me again to tell me about his course of treatment. Dr. Myers and Vet Tech Franky and crew sent us home with his full medical record including his X-rays on DVDs. I will use this clinic again next time my dog has an emergency and recommend others do the same.

We had to bring our little dog, Sadie, in for an emergency visit because she had gotten hurt and was in so much distress that she was crying out in pain! I was a nervous wreck and crying when bringing her in and Dr. Barnes and Vet Nurse Zai were so incredibly caring to our Sadie and to me!!! They were so sweet and worked with us to get Sadie the help she needed and they were so incredibly nice and supportive of how I felt which really calmed me down too!!! They went above and beyond and I strongly and highly recommend them if your baby needs help too!!! I wouldn’t have gotten through our ordeal without them!!! Thank you so so much Dr. Barnes and Nurse Zai for being so loving and caring to our little Sadie❣️❣️❣️❣️

Post op , regular veterinary office closing. Izabella stayed overnight for monitoring after emergency C-section and hysterectomy. Dr. Myers and Brittany were wonderful, as I'm sure the rest of the overnight staff were. Very professional, knowledgeable and I felt Izabella was safe in their hands. I am a retired operating room RN, 45 years of surgery work, so I know when I trust my gut feeling that a doctor is good.Thank you so very much for keeping Izabella safe. She's doing great, bonded with pups and all is well.I read reviews before going there, and positive reviews are helpful to set at ease a worried pet parent.

The vet here was so helpful. I also called him back a few weeks later for after-hours advice on my dogs medication. He was very accommodating to my questions, even though he wasn't being paid for my phone call. I would definitely recommend this office, if you have a pet emergency.

Worst service for dying animals. There is no sense of urgency at this “emergency vet clinic” if you can even call it that. We have had two actively dying dogs that were brought here. Nothing was done to put us at ease or our animals. Staff had more important things to do than to tend to their patients and their owners. Terrible customer service and Emergency services. They are more concerned about getting their money and getting you out than seeing your pet. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE A BETTER OPTION!!!!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANIMALS ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY. I wish I would have read the reviews before we went. Our dog went in last night with a bad cut on his foot and they did absolutely nothing. We were put in a room and after 30 minutes a nurse comes in to ask a few questions and then take our dog away. They locked him in a carte in the back while he was SHAKING in pain and left him there. After an hour the "doctor" came in to tell is that he "couldn't look at his paw" because our dog wouldn't let him. So in order for him to know what was going on he would have to sedate him, give him an x-ray, and blood work and the total would have been $2000+!!!! When we said that we just wanted them to look at it since it was bleeding pretty bad and he was in pain they asked us what our budget was. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY. After we told them we didn't need all that work and just wanted them to make sure he was comfortable enough to make it through the night the nurse said she would go check with the doctor and was gone FOR ANOTHER HOUR. Our poor baby was locked in a cage in the back bleeding and we could hear him crying the entire time. After the nurse came back she said that they could give him a shot for the pain and some meds to take home for the affordable price of $500. They also would not let us have our dog back until we were escorted to the front and our payment went through. Once we got our dog back they didn't even dress his wound and his foot was still covered in blood and bleeding. I was able to take him to our primary vet the next day and come to find out the medication that I was charged $300 for was for arthritis and was not helping for the pain he was in. DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!! I literally cried all the way home because my dog was still in pain we got absolutely no help from these "Vets".

I wanted to wait until I had a clear diagnosis for my pet and also to calm down before providing this feedback. It has now been 8 days, and I'm still disturbed about the experience and lack of care provided. Not to mention the $ I was charged.Customer Service/Staff: I called on the evening of 12/26 to see if I could bring my dog in to be seen. It was 10pm. We arrived and walked into the lobby, but there was no one at the front desk. After about 3-4 minutes, a lady walked out from the back. She didn't say hello or how can I help you? She just stared at us. So I said, "Hello, we just called a few minutes ago about bringing my pet in". She motioned for us to follow her into a room and gave me a clip board with a few papers to complete. When I returned to the front desk, she wasn't there. I stood at the desk for 5 mins, and again she walked up from the back room. I gave her the clipboard and she said nothing. After 15 mins I returned to the front desk to ask what could we expect? Would there be someone to see my dog? Is there a vet on duty, etc. She gave me the most condescending look & rudely told me, "yes- someone will see you" and that was it! So I returned to the room to 1- check on my dog, and 2- look up the reviews on this place, and they were bad. A few mins go by and the Tech comes in to ask what's going on w/my dog. She then took my dog to the back to be seen, then returned and tells me that it would be about $1,000 to see him, take blood, and do x-rays. I was more concerned about my dog at this point. Then she tells me that I must pay upfront before they will look at him. She said that people run out on their pets w/o paying. At this point, I feel like it was a really bad idea to bring him to this place. So, I make the pmt (which increased to $1200 at the counter) & was told that I couldn't get an itemized receipt until the pet was released. Interesting, I can make pmt before but couldn't get the receipt until after my pet was released. The Vet comes in and asks the same questions that the Tech asked but she was much less professional! She returns within about 15mins with this look of doom & tells us that our dog has CANCER & is bleeding internally. I asked her if she took a blood test & she said she didn't need to because it was seen on the x-ray. We follow her to the back to look at the x-ray screen & she shows us a pic with what she pointed out as a CANCER mass. She kept saying that she was so sorry and that our pet was 10yrs old & we really needed to think about his quality of life. I let her know that I've had pets all my life and would never let my pet suffer. I asked her if she had more pictures and what was her recommendation? She didn't have a recommendation! I asked her where my dog was, and she pointed to a kennel across the room. There he was chilling, just looking at us. He didn't visibly look incapacitated so I told her that I'd like to take him to my regular veterinarian in the morning and if she could provide the write up and x-rays to them. She agreed and told us that he was considered "critical" and should stay with them overnight, and I could pick him up in the morning on the way to the Vet. I told her no thank you, we'll take him home with us now. After about 10 mins, they bring my dog back to us. We go home. I called my vet the next morning. In the report it has no pet details (weight, age, etc.) Just that they explained that my dog had cancer, and offered to keep him over night, and that he looked depressed. I was so confused because my dog was running around and playing, and he certainly wasn't displaying "end of life" behavior. LONG STORY SHORT- my dog doesn't have cancer. I was charged $1200 for 2 x-ray photos (that didn't include a ventricular view) & a finger print on my dogs gums. The staff lacks customer service skills & clearly aren't happy in their roles. The vet didn't seem competent. On the website, it still says that the vet "bios" are coming soon & I know why. There was no way I was leaving my pet there. The employees act like they don't even like animals.

I called on Sunday, February 18, at around 5:20 pm to see about bringing my dog in after an apparent seizure. I was told the “EMERGENCY” vet was not seeing emergencies. So what exactly does an emergency vet see if they can’t be relied on in an emergency situation?

Took my eldery dog in on a Sunday for a possible broken leg. The vet said it would cost $2000 to put him to sleep to do x-rays and splint. She would not do an x-ray without sedating him. She said he would probably need surgery that she couldnt do and that would be thousands more. She said we needed to go home and have a serious talk. The next morning I took him to a regular vet who did regular x-rays and said no surgery was needed. He put a splint on and my baby has been just fine. He only charged $150 for exam, two x-rays and splint. (Dr.Nichols Centre AL)This place just sees dollar signs and implied I should put him down. Horrible!

Don't bother bringing your pet here. They wanted $4200 to keep my cat. I was sent home with amoxicillin, and a $500 bill. I still have to bring my pet to another vet. Wish I would of read the reviews here first. Still don't know what's wrong with my cat and they didn't know either. Waste of time and money

My Wife and I brought our dog here to get him out of pain and to get him feeling better and we’ve literally been in a waiting room for over 3 hours and they finally ask us for a budget also we were broke because we lost our other dog yesterday at another veterinary for the same symptoms for recalled dog food so please keep an eye out on the food you give your dog. But anyways they finally came in after 3 hours of us waiting for a budget and we couldn’t afford the stomach flush. So like they just don’t care that animals are in pain and is suffering I Won’t Be Coming Back Here Ever. I should’ve drove that extra hour to Blue Pearl but thank fully he’s surviving the salmonella

I went here for help on Thanksgiving with my 4 mth old Yorkie who tested positive for Parvo. It was nearly an hour before anyone even looked at our puppy, and there was no urgency. I paid $2,400 before the first treatment or seeing a dr. I picked her this morning at 7:45…we called so many vets on their list to find most would not take her. Found one that opened at 8:30. We were there and she died by 9 am. I can’t say what Westside did or should I say didn’t do but I feel robbed. I’m angry and my baby is gone. I will never use them again. Paperwork had the wrong age and weight of my baby girl. The had her listed as a 7 week old 5 lb puppy. However she was 4 months 2 days old and weighed 2.5 lbs. Do not take your pets here ever. It cost me the life of my baby and $2,400 gone. I REPEAT NEVER EVER GO HERE. The receptionist did not seem like the life or death was urgent. Had an AirPod in one ear so getting her attention took multiple times of repeating same question. They did not want to give me a copy of quote. I had to insist. Please do not take your animals here, if I knew then what I know now…I could have done 110% better care. They called me at 7:30 am to make sure I was on my way and asked what my current location was. Not one word about my baby..just where am I. They close at 8:00 am..which I paid for. I was there at 7:40. DO NOT GO HERE FOR EMERGENCIES, or EVER!

Call Sunday for a friend of mines dog and they today me $185 for an exam. So he took his dog in and they told him it will be $750 dollars. Never told us what the problem was and when we ask what did they find in the exam. She stated that the exam was the question she ask us. I'm reporting these vet to the BBB. They are crocks and liars. I've had pets all my life and have paid up to $4500 to a vet before for surgery and they was fair. I can honestly say Westside Emergency Clinic is not a honest caring vet. Not to mention when they came from the back with the dog she threw the leash down. Very nasty, rude and dishonest. I will definitely be reporting this Vet. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE AT ALL.

I wish I would have listened to the bad reviews, because they were true. However, I was worried sick about my pup and didn’t want to wait till the morning. Definitely regret that decision because, DR.MEYERS was so RUDE. The rude facial expressions and rolling her eyes when I wasn’t 100% sure on questions she asked. She made me feel like the worst pet owner. I wanted to run out crying and leave with my dog and just take him to another clinic. She completely judge me because I couldn’t give exact times about my dog going to the bathroom. I never expected that from a DOCTOR. I work everyday and try my best to keep up with every detail about him. She made me feel like I wasn’t meant to be a dog mom. Ive never felt so judged in my life until now. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND this place to anyone. The last thing someone needs when they’re stressed and worried about their pet being sick is to be blamed for it. Im sorry I can’t monitor him 24/7. I try my best to give my dogs the best healthiest lifestyle I can.

What an awesome facility with people that have hearts of gold. Last weekend, my Mom’s dog (whom I inherited when Mom passed), Beauty, took a turn for the worst. I tried to get into the vet but to no avail, it didn’t work out. Sunday, Beauty was suffering so much and my heart was aching. It was “time”. The staff at Westside Animal Clinic were so precious and understanding in helping me, help Beauty to transition over the rainbow bridge. They had such great patience as my heart was literally hurting and my anxiety was through the roof. They were so calm and helped Beauty to no longer suffer and ease the transition and both of our anxieties. The hardest decision ever. Even sent the most precious card afterwards. So sweet, kind and true angels on earth is what the staff at Westside Animal Emergency Clinic truly are. May the Lord bless you all so much. Such precious, precious souls and people. Thank you so very much.

They are absolutely AMAZING!! They did an intial triage, and we waited another 20 minutes when the vet nurse or vet tech came in, who was very kind and answered all of our questions. It was busy, but I know ER's are busy anyway, and we didnt mind. After the vet did her exam we were given an estimate for what was recommended based on our fur babys condition and the exam which was performed. It was expensive, but as with ALL ER services its going to be expensive, so PLEASE plan accordingly. Its not there fault that emergency sevices are expensive, they are there away from family at night, weekends, and HOLIDAYS, so be thankful when your regular pet doctor is NOT THERE. I had a WONDERFUL experience and would recomend Westside Animal ER to everyone I know!!!!

Dr. Gates and her staff are wonderful. My 8 yr. old Pitbull got an ear infection and her ear puffed up significantly, we took her to Westside. They let us know within 10 minutes her condition and that surgery was necessary and what the cost would be. I was notified right after the procedure of her condition. Dr. Gates and her staff have checked her every 36 hours since then.I would and will recommend Westside, Dr. Gates and the staff to everyone I know if their FurBaby needs immediate medical care.Thank you for loving and caring for my Baby as if she were your own. I will be forever grateful.Larry and Edna Carr
