Amazing people who work there! They saved my dog Bailey and was so kind and understanding! Along with the person who found him, his entire body trapped in quicksand kind of mud or something and I guess trying to dig out he dug himself further until only his head showed and couldn't get out, he wouldn't be with me today. He is 15 years old and I had searched everywhere and thank God he had been found and taken care of until I could figure out where he was. Thanks guys y'all are truly amazing!!

Polite and compassionate staff and management. They were a great with helping guide our old girl over the rainbow bridge. Will definitely make sure to donate supplies and food for animals as they always need donations.

What are human societys good for you call them for a dog that gets dumped to try to get it of the streets, they tell you they will take take it then call back 30 mins later to say we can’t take it, they want to post about people dumping dogs then don’t take ones you find that been dumped. Hmmm I wonder why people dump dogs.

I hate seeing so many beautiful puppies with no family to call their own. We spent time with some that we felt we needed and left with the most amazing new addition to our family. She is loved

First of all, at first everything seemed normal. Its a shelter, so obviously i dont expect the best care for these animals. However, my wife and i are fostering Milo (a cat) who has had an upper respiratory infection the last week we’ve had him. Due to god knows what. Today he went in for a checkup and we asked for him to be put on medication for his symptoms. He was taken in the back for close to 20-25 minutes and then we were on our way after the tech gave us the medication and a poor explanation and instructions regarding the medication. When we got home i called my sister who is an actual veterinarian and explained everything to her, i showed her the medication and turns out we were given, Doxycycline 100mg (an antibiotic) and not even the full amount the cat was prescribed, as well as a random mixture of different dosages of Famciclovir which also wasn’t the full amount prescribed. We were told take one of each, twice a day until the medication is gone. The problem is in the Famciclovir bottle, some of the pills were a mix ML-67 which are 125 mg and ML-70 which are 250mg. Nobody ever told us anything about the different pills that we were given and we likely could have poisoned our cat. This staff needs some serious training, i will be reporting this to whatever entity i need to, whether the board of directors for the humane society or the board for veterinarians and have their licenses pulled.

I found my buddy at this place. There are alot of animals that need a good home there. I just purchased a home. Mister Tibbs is a needed and welcome addition.

I have adopted two dogs from this facility, both dogs were clean and well cared for this place deserves all of the donations and credit you can give them. It is full of kind and caring volunteers who truly love what they do and deserve our respect.

It's a very intimate place if your looking to find you a pet for your home! They definitely had plenty of medium to large size terrier breeds. Small and large different breeds of other animals also. Overall was a nice experience! The staff was very courteous while I was there I also had the pleasure of adopting a guinea pig. The staff also provided toys and food for it at no cost provided by donations of course by the generous community. Which they had no obligations to do so!. So thank you Camden county Humane Society!

What wonderful staff and volunteers the camden county GA humane society has! They are very passionate and patient with adopters and the animals! We adopted a beautiful red pittie in February 2020 and drove by yesterday and said, let's adopt another sweet baby who should have a home and loving family for Christmas! So we adopted another beautiful black n white pittie/lab mix! If you're looking for another furry family member, stop by and see all the wonderful babies that are looking for their furever families!

We adopted Winnie in August of 2019 and she has been the most perfect addition to our family. She came with an extensive medical history, behavioral assessment and was already microchipped. I'm so grateful to everyone who helped us find our perfect match! She is so, so loved and appreciated.

The amount of work that the staff and volunteers put in behind the scenes is immeasurable. They really care about each and every animal.

I called on July 5th and set a time for today July 7th to come and adopt a kitten. The person on the phone said they would let the foster family know so they could meet us. After driving an hour to the Humane Society to what I thought was to adopt said kitten I was informed that there was another person there to look at the kitten. I was unable to get said kitten because the other person just so happened to get to the building before me. They say there is a first come first serve policy which I understand but had I known someone else would beat me there today I would of juggled my time to be here earlier. But my question is why is it not first come first serve as far as who put the application in. That would be more fair. Or not set it up for 2 people to come the same day. So now I have to drive an hour back to Jacksonville without the new addition to our family. I would not recommend this place. Also their manager didn't help in any way to resolve this more efficiently she just kept saying "we have a first come first serve policy". That policy needs to be changed!!!

I have donated to this organization, I have fostered animals for this organization, and I have adopted from this organization - I guess I will be helping another organization from here on, there is nothing "Humane" about the way they operate. They seriously looked me in the eye and asked for $400 to surrender a litter of kittens that were born on my back porch. You have absolutely got to be kidding me. These are not my animals. And then we wonder why we have videos of people dropping them off on the side of the road.Absolutely Ridiculous.

My grandmother adopted a kitten last week. She called me this morning, crying, to tell me the kitten died overnight. The kitten, Bela - you knew her as Sunny, curled up on my Gramma’s chest and went to sleep for the last time. Gramma is heartbroken. My kid cousin? Devastated.Bela went to our trusted vet just two days ago, and Gramma was told that Bela had round worms and was way too small and way too young to have been spayed. She couldn’t even get shots that day. Despite the medicine and supplements and mother’s milk, they couldn’t nurse her little body back to health. This kitten didn’t stand a chance. Why was she spayed so young? She was well under two pounds. My brother just adopted a kitten a couple months ago from another humane society and they required that he foster until the kitten was big enough to be neutered and then he could officially adopt. Instead, you guys set this kitten up for failure and set my grandmother up for heartbreak. How could you not know better?

We have 2 rescue pups from Camden County Humane Society and they are just awesome. The staff and volunteers are absolutely dedicated to what they do and ALWAYS put the animals first. They do the best they can with what they have, but it would be great to see them get more funding that they deserve. Please consider helping them out in any way you can. Thanks!

I found this poor little cat, soaking wet and in need of emergency care. She was not moving. She was huddled up and had clearly been there through all the rain we've been having. They WOULD NOT EVEN LOOK AT HER. Not very Humane in my opinion.

I had a horrible experience trying to adopt a cat/kitten. Waited almost 2 weeks for a kitten that they had brought in that they told me had a cold, went to pick up the kitten at the appointed time, was waiting outside for them to bring the kitten to me and the technician came out to advise me that the kitten had had a seizure and died. I was devastated, I’ve had so much loss in my life over the past four years and was so looking forward to having a pet. I had already paid for the kitten and given them an additional donation towards the facility. They promised me they would let me know when new kittens had come in and let me have a choice of which ever one I wanted. I received a call the following Tuesday saying that they had some kittens that they were going to put on their website that evening and I’ll chose a kitten called Valkyrie. On Wednesday they were closed so I left an extensive message on their voicemail and told them I wanted that kitten. On Thursday as soon as they opened I spoke to their manager and was told that they would hold that cat for me until I could get there on Saturday to pick up the kitten and had made an appointment for 2 o’clock on Saturday to pick up the kitten. I received a phone call at 4 o’clock on Friday, the day before I was supposed to pick up the kitten from the facility to tell me that they had adopted out the kitten to another family . I am totally furious and disappointed with this entire experience and do not recommend to anyone to use this facility for a pet that you might have seen on the site because to them it’s all about just getting rid of the animals as quickly as they can. I am going back down there today and getting all my money back and will make it a point to stand outside and let everyone that goes in there know about my experience. Rose Miller St. Mary’s Georgia

I was very happy with the service I received today! The staff was kind, patient and thorough in getting me the cat I fell in love with! This is the 2nd kitten I’ve gotten this year from the Camden Humane Society. The kittens are healthy, well socialized, house trained and well cared for with the limited funds and covid pandemic conditions they’re dealing with...Thank you to all your great and caring staff!

Very nice folks. Caring staff. Found an 8 week old kitten cowering in the road at an intersection near Ihop. Already having 6 rescue cats, the Humane Society of Camden was ready to step in and help this little guy find a home. Best of luck, little one!

Somethings not right going on there. It's an adoption humane society but you could of fooled me! What kind of place is it. Their open but they won't let you see one of the dogs. She souls have to bring thru one at a time.. just crazy. I said well how do I know until I could see the dogs but not one of a kind. You can hear all the dogs barking but you couldn't go in to see them!! They said they had covid through there recent and her grandfather came down with it. What does that have to do with you adopting a dog? I asked what snout the dogs that you can hear barking behind a door! She said oh not those, they are strays!!! Don't strays get adopted? I said so if people can't see them how can they get adopted, that's terrible for the dog!. She said one at a time. One at a time of a couple of hundred dogs, CNN whetted your logic! We left as did other people. A waste of time not to mention those poor dogs. I said to than do what do you do just kill than instead of adopt then out and I was the terrible person!!Someone should investigate this situation!!

I go there at least once a week or bi-weekly to volunteer. The people there are very welcoming and informational. They are able to answer every question you may have and the best part about this shelter is that it's a no kill unless the animals there are severely sick and can't continue on. The place is very tidy and clean. But the parking lot is small so be ready to have to park by the road outside the gate. They close on Wednesday and Sunday.

I called 3:30 (they close 5pm), about possibly adopting a cat. The guy gave me great info on this cat (I saw on petfinder), however I was told I couldn’t come today to even look at her and possibly start the adoption process. Unfortunately I work all week so I can’t get there. I guess they aren’t in a hurry to adopt these animals. He said call when you have off and if she’s still available then you can see her….weird.

Got my puppy from here. Was disappointed I couldn't take her home the day we adopted her but I understand the reason. She had to be spayed first and I picked her up from the vet. It actually helped that she got to experience a bit of quiet at the vets office before I got her so she was as tense as when my family and I met her.

Went to donate some food and the lady at the front was rude. She immediately snapped and said “The public isn’t allowed in here!” I told her I wasn’t aware of that and that I called prior to see if any circumstances were being followed before I came by. She just stood up and grabbed the food and asked if I needed a receipt. I’ll donate to the Nassau Humane Society in Yulee instead.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We drove an hour to get an ADOPTABLE kitten which was 9 weeks old. Come to find out it had to be spayed and we couldn't get it. I also believe they pick and choose who adopts. I'm very disappointed in this so called humane society. Not only did you disappoint us but you disappointed our kids. I hope that your humane society loses its privilege to adopt because you don't know how to run a humane society and deal with people. NEVER AGAIN!

HORRIBLE PLACE!!! I’ve always adopted from the humane society but this location is so incredibly corrupt. Our kitten was UNLAWFULLY taken from our yard while we were on vacation and turned into this location. She had a collar, a harness, AND MICROCHIPPED, so clearly she wasn’t a stray. They NEVER CALLED US THAT THEY HAD HER then they fostered her out and will not give us our cat back until the foster family decides to return her. If we don’t get her back, the authorities will be involved and someone will lose their job for never even giving us the chance to come get her, even though we were 1,000 miles away.

The facility is not fully wheelchair accessible. But the staff were great. A member got my chair onto the cat room so I could see them all. At a later visit, they brought my choice out to me to hold her. I got a wonderful kitty that is such a blessing. I was worried that she wouldn't get close to the 2 year old I already had. I also needed to have a little bit older kitty rather than a kitten because my 2yrold is.a very in-your-face kind of girl. Maylee was around 9 months old when I adopted her and a good size. They are a perfect match! It took about 3-4 weeks of adjustment period. Sassy is no longer lonely. They play well together a good part of the day. Maylee wears her out enough in the day, they both sleep well at night. Sassy is no longer nocturnal! I am very happy.
