The Wharf on Jekyll Island: A Delightful Waterfront Experience (with Delicious Shrimp!)Setting the Scene:Jekyll Island is a charming coastal escape, and The Wharf restaurant perfectly captures its essence. Located right on the historic Jekyll Pier, it offers stunning water views and a relaxed, nautical atmosphere. My Experience:I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Wharf, and it was a delightful experience. The fresh air, beautiful scenery, and friendly service set the stage for a truly enjoyable evening. The Star of the Show:I opted for the shrimp boil, and it did not disappoint! The shrimp were perfectly cooked, fresh, and bursting with flavor. The accompanying sides hush puppies and garlic eggs were delicious complements to the main course.Beyond the Food:The Wharf boasts an impressive drink selection, and I opted for a bloody Mary and a beer. It was the perfect way to unwind and take in the beautiful views.Overall Impression:The Wharf on Jekyll Island is a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a delicious meal in a stunning waterfront setting. The food was excellent, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing evening.Highly Recommend:I highly recommend The Wharf to anyone visiting Jekyll Island. Whether you're craving fresh seafood, refreshing drinks, or simply a picturesque location to unwind, The Wharf delivers a delightful experience

The Wharf on Jekyll Island- Beautiful window table scenery (we went at sunset.) The food was delicious! My blackened salmon was to perfection...(đź’‹) Taste and Seasoned just right! My sides were garlic eggs (you get 4!) and collards. My husband's flounder was HUGE! He couldn't finish it all. The only downside was the parking toll of $10 to get on the island. That would not have been so bad had we made a day of it. We only went to eat and paying that much for an hour...sheesh. I won't complain too much because we got a $10 off of our food because we paid with a Navy Federal Card.

Perfect outside seating for a casual lunch and the weather was great. Had the peel & eat shrimp, oysters on half shell and the fried corn riblets. All was all very good! The corn was new to us. It was strips of corn that included a thin strip of cob, deep fried & seasoned well. You hold them like ribs to eat and we really liked them. Thanks to Josh for taking good care of us that day!

Wonderful. We ate outside. Yes expensive but it's an experience and we were on vacation. Waiter didn't tell us about no hush puppies but she added extra fries. It was fine but they really need to let the customers know and not pretend we don't know what we ordered. Other than that lil bit. Everything was good including the pickled okra that came with our burger. I bought a jar at the commissary across the street.

They don't let walk-ins sit at the white tables. You have to reserve them even if no-one is there. Dumb. There were ten tables empty by the water and they refused to let anyone sit there. Instead we had to sit at the brown table top with bird goop on it. No one cleans it. No-one stopped to say hello. We had to get someone. The food is just okay. The live band and beautiful sunset saved them.

Read many recent negative reviews and almost did not go as a result. We have been there before several times, but it has been a few years. Maybe it depends upon the day you go which I suspect is the case because on a Tuesday evening in April at 5:30 we had excellent service from Ryan and our meals were great. Shrimp & grits was so good shrimp roll was great too. Mango cart is a favorite beer and they have it on draft. It was an excellent meal with excellent service. We'll be back.

There aren't enough stars to give this place! The outdoor seating area is right on the water, so hopefully you like birds because they will visit your table :) . I had the seafood mac & cheese and it was AMAZING!! Incredibly flavorful and the shrimp in it are huge! My husband had the fish and chips and holy WOW that Cod was FABULOUS!!! This place is just a tad pricey but it is 100% worth it!Wheelchair accessibility: The entire entrance area is one long ramp!

Had a delicious meal here a few weeks ago before the evening dolphin boat tour (also great). Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Couldn't ask for more! (sorry, I forgot his name!)I had the shrimp and grits and my wife had the seafood chowder. Both were excellent. The hushpuppies were delicious but a few of them were overcooked. They also had a live band (in March!) that absolutely brought the whole experience together.Nobody should complain about prices. They're easily available online and on par with what I expect for any nice waterfront restaurant. There are less expensive options on the island for anyone who wants them!

Four. Stars because I’m not sure about the floor. They are sticky. When I drop my napkin, I found other debris on the floor. And asked for paper napkins. Other than that it’s a great restaurant beautiful ambience, beautiful pier definitely relaxing and very good food. My wife got the Mahi tacos. She said they were delicious. I got the double cheeseburger. It was an average double cheeseburger. The patties look like they were probably frozen. The fish on the tacos were definitely fresh. Actually, I took a bite of her tacos and it was delicious! Yes, I would recommend this place with a? Concerning the sticky floors. By the way, my wife says I’m being a picky eater the older I get.

The Wharf bar and restaurant on Jekyll Island, Georgia is an informal place to eat or just have a drink at the bar. While it’s location is spectacular, the food can be a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, generally it is a fun place to relax with friends or family.Don’t bother to ask for a plastic straw as our waitress said they were trying to save the large sea turtles in the nearby waters. The loud music blasting from overhead speakers was a constant nuisance, but aside from that I have no complaints about The Wharf.Prices are moderate. Free WiFi is available, and credit cards are accepted.

Great concept, but the food is absolutely disgusting(mainly because of the sulfur water that they use in the area). The food has no seasoning, it’s overpriced, tastes awful, and they give you very little. I ordered like the seafood boil which had a plate of potatoes/corn/shrimp(decent)/clams/and one cluster of a snow crab(decent). The atmosphere and the waitress were nice. The only thing that was edible was the shrimp and snow crab. I highly suggest because of the nasty water in the area, lack of seasoning, being overpriced and not giving you enough food, to not come to this restaurant.

Tucked away by the water, The Wharf offers a cozy dining experience with flavors that hit the spot and service that feels like a warm embrace. The menu keeps it simple but satisfying, with fresh ingredients shining through in every dish. The food is delicious without trying too hard, and the service is friendly and laid-back, making you feel right at home. And let's not forget the view – a tranquil scene that adds a touch of serenity to your meal.In a nutshell, The Wharf is a relaxed spot where you can enjoy good food, good company, and good vibes by the water. It's the kind of place you'll want to keep coming back to whenever you need a little escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

TLDR - food is nothing special, but the location is beautiful.Food: it wasn’t bad, but it was nothing special. Nothing seemed particularly unique or refined. What we did have was well prepared though. Surprisingly, there’s very little locally sourced seafood on the menu. The only semi-local item was Georgia white shrimp they’re using in a couple dishes.Location: great location. Just about every seat has a view of the bay. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. You can hang out on the dock while you wait for a table. They had a surprisingly good live band playing too. Like seriously good.

First and foremost, the food at this establishment is consistently delicious. Every dish I sampled was bursting with flavors that tantalized my taste buds. From the appetizers to the main courses, each bite was a delightful experience. The chefs truly have a knack for creating mouthwatering meals that leave you craving for more. Moreover, the staff at this restaurant are incredibly warm and accommodating. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with genuine smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The waitstaff were attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations and catering to my dietary preferences. Their friendly demeanor elevated the overall dining experience.Lastly, the prices at this restaurant are surprisingly reasonable. Despite the high quality of the food and the exceptional service, the menu offers great value for money. It's refreshing to find a place where you can enjoy a satisfying meal without breaking the bank.Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. With its consistently tasty food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices, it has all the ingredients for a memorable dining experience. Whether you're looking for a casual lunch or a special night out, this place will not disappoint. This is a must try when visiting the beautiful Georgia coast. Bring a few friends, enjoy the food and enjoy the view.

The family and I were our strolling around looking at the beautiful, huge oaks surrounding the Resort. There is ample parking beside the restaurant. We decided to stop by The Wharf for a late afternoon snack. Our kids were quite cranky, but our waitress, Carrie, I think, was just absolutely delightful and so patient with them. She had these lovely turtle earrings that grabbed their attention and she quickly delivered snacks to distract them. She also chatted with us about our visit and recommended where we could visit to have turtles swim up to us. So cool! We got the maple glazed salmon that was on a bed of kale. There were also raisin and pecans on it as well. We also got sweet potato fries. We paid about $40 for the snack, before tip, but it was delicious. Highly recommend going, especially for the wonderful service.

While visiting Jekyll Island for the first time to see the Georgia Sea Turtle Center, we ate lunch at the Wharf. This restaurant is on a pier and has a beautiful view of the creek. We sat in the bar, and I had a Mountain Jam lager by Southbound Brewing. I tried the Mahi fish tacos with a house salad and really enjoyed it. This is a cool restaurant, and I would recommend eating here when you are on Jekyll Island.

“Worst Restaurant” in years of travel …The place was not busy and they said, “one hour wait”.We went to the bar and the guy cleared the area but did not wipe it clean. We had to get him back over to spray and clean it off. Then 15 minutes later, we put an appetizer and drink order in. The corn came out 50 minutes later. The wine pours were very shallow. The food eventually came out 90 minutes later after arriving and it was brutally cold. The chicken sandwich must have sat there for 30 minutes and was awful. The fries were also cold and the replacements were semi-cold/warm. Failed in going to this restaurant. Waste of time and money. My wife’s 3 sides were cold and nondescript ($5 each). The sunset was great but the restaurant, servers and kitchen better get their act together before they go out of business in 2024.

So, after Easter Brunch at Eighty Ocean club, figured why not give another Jekyll Island establishment a try. Would be hard to mess up a beautiful location and sunset right? Well, wrong. Yes, the atmosphere and location was amazing. never got to really experience it though. As usual when you have kids you order an appetizer and the kids meals and drinks. My wife ordered a dirty martini - she received a glass of straight vodka. Kids meals came right out and we thought great! We also ordered oysters on the half shell - they came out warm and it seemed as if someone had taken a hammer to them rather than properly shuck them. Each bite was not only warm but included bits of the shell. Not a good omen. Our waitress never came back out to see how everything was. In fact, we never saw her again - our kids finished their meals and we were on to entertaining them but still no one came to take our meal orders or ask how the drinks were. We saw our waitress seat others, take their orders and serve them dinner. We ended up asking for the check and leaving without ever having ordered dinner. Unbelievable. Would not recommend this place either. What a disappointment.

This is a charming gem! The food is delicious. We had the corn ribs, very tasty, hush puppies and pimento cheese for appetizers. All perfect! The we had the lowcountry shrimp boil and hot sausage. Very generous portions of very large delicious shrimp. My husband and I agreed that the shrimp is the best we've ever had and we,'ve had a lot. So fresh! Our server Josh took great care of us and gave us some local points of interest. Great dining experience right on the water.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly for sure

This place is a true gem. It has a very friendly atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They have bith indoor and outdoor dinning. They are right on the water. The view is absolutely stunning from the pier. You will eat well here as the food quality is very good. When you go here you will spend a bit of money, but it is worth every penny. For me and my wife it was about one hundred dollars. This included appetizers, drinks, and the main course. You will pleasantly enjoy this restaurant. We will most definitely be dining here again.Parking: There is plenty of parking for this restaurant.

Fantastic location an view. Waiter was super friendly an informative an took our order in timely fashion. But then the bad , The wife got her plate an was missing half of it i got my plate an was missing the main sauce the burger came with an the burger was way over cooked for medium. The cocktail sauce had entirely to much horse radish an while we were eating the table next to is sent back their clam chowder bc it was super runny. i would proli go back to see the view an try some drinks but definitely would not eat here again
