We visited the Love Shack during the weekend of February 2nd.Excellent food, absolutely lovely!!The chicken is probably the best on the island, and it has a spicy taste to them.I had the buffalo chicken sandwich without mayo and it was really good! The staff were friendly and the area around the establishment was clean.I recommend this restaurant to anyone going to Jekyll Island!!

The best shrimp on the island!!! Located inside of Jekyll Market, great selection, great pricing & staff, large portions & everything we had was terrific. That Mac n cheese was AMAZING!!! You have to try the fried shrimp, sweet potato fries (don't forget to sprinkle a little cinnamon and sugar on them for a special treat), Mac n cheese and the chicken fingers!!! Next time, we're trying out the rotisserie chicken!! We enjoyed it so much that we are there twice during our stay on the island.

This place needs a sign! Unless you go in the Jekyll market- you’ll miss it. Chicken tenders were a tad dry- but great flavor. Mac & cheese was a hit for my 3 year old. BBQ sauce was delish & the sweet potato fries were perfection!! Staff were friendly. They were out of the rotisserie chicken- which is was I was hoping food. Overall- would eat here again.

Best shrimp on the island! Shrimp was fantastic and the sweet potato fries were extra crispy. Would 100% return for more shrimp.Service was quick, there was a miscommunication that resulted in an me getting over charged but they were quick to void the charge and get it sorted out. Even with a smile!

It was very good food. The service was good also. The price was decent for the food, and the portions were good sized. I would love to have a place like this where I live. The only thing that gave me trouble was finding the restaurant, it's located in the same building as the the village market, on Jekyll Island. There's no signage outside that says "Love Shack". That's my only drawback. Highly recommend it if you are ever on Jekyll Island.I had the half rotisserie chicken, with coleslaw, and my fiancee had the same except with fries instead of slaw.

Best little secret in Jekyll Island! It was also the best food experience in both Jekyll and St. Simon Islands combined! We came back a second day we enjoyed it so much. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful with zero sauce, the fried shrimp (wild & fresh) were breaded while we waited, and there’s no beating a perfectly cooked and salted crinkle cut fry! Anna and her team work really hard and do an outstanding job with managing a crowd - we were here during a weekend with over 1200 students in town for a tech conference and The Love Shack was insanely busy and our food was not rushed and still came out in less than 10 minutes. This young manager knows her business and equally impressive is all of the food! I don’t write reviews normally but felt called to this time!!

First of all, I've been coming here awhile since I been working on jekyll island since 2015. I don't know really know what happened recently but the taste is off of the fried shrimp. I will say that it was all consistently chewy unfortunately. But the taste was something else. I did get my meal under 5 minutes so that probably means it was sitting on the warmer of something. The indoor seating was removed so you have to sit outside, I probably won't be back for awhile.Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair friendly

It's nestled inside the market in the corner. It is counter service and there is seating outside. The BBQ pork sandwich is legit Jumbo. It needs BBQ sauce, so do not forget to get a couple cups before leaving. The shrimp is is reportably unflavorful. You have limited choices in the village. This is not my first choice, but it fills you up.

The best shrimp I had on the island. Cole slaw was good but the other sides might be better. This fried shrimp was better than the fried fish I had at The Wharf.

Best place on Jekyll Island to eat fried shrimp. We must have had close to two dozen fried shrimp each, and they were absolutely some of the best fried shrimp we've ever had! We always make sure to have at least one meal here, if not more, when visiting the island! Now please note that you don't have the ambience of a fine restaurant. You go up to a window to order and you can dine inside or outside, but hey we're there for the food not the atmosphere! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

I think this is the only acceptable food in Jekyll island that’s open for lunch. We came here because a pub we went to the night before gave us microwaved nachos and water that tasted like the sea. This was a step up from that; their meat was moist and falling apart but it wasn’t anything to praise. It wasn’t super flavorful and the barbecue sauce they had wasn’t their own. Also I thought I was getting a sandwich on nice bread but they just threw two pieces of white bread, which tasted like Walmart’s brand bread, into the basket. They did redeem themself with peppered, slightly creamy mac & cheese. Honestly, I’d recommend saving your money for dinner and go to the Driftwood Bistro which is closed Monday and doesn’t open until 5.

I had my expectations pretty high because of all of the great reviews, and I came away pretty disappointed. The restaurant is inside the gift shop, and so seating and ordering is a bit cramped. The pulled pork was okay, but not special by any means. The fries desperately needed salt and the squash casserole was a bit bland. The portions were generous, but that's not all that important to me. I'm not sure where they actually smoke / barbecue, because there doesn't seem to be enough space in the little shack where you place your order.

It's located in the JEKYLL MARKET and it's take out, but there is plenty of seating outside the market. BBQ was delicious and tender, Brunswick stew was tasty ( I like mine thicker but it was still oh so good)You can choose a " child's portion" which is generous enough for lunch. Then you can share your leftover bread with the birds!!!

Not overly impressed by anything in specific. Everything was priced a little high, but they can get away with it because of the island and the lack of options. All the way in the back of the market. Obviously not hard to find, but a little awkward waiting in line and to pick up food. The woman inside was nice enough the food just wasn’t anything to write home about. I can’t for the life of me figure out the people saying this was the best shrimp they ever had or even the best on the island because it didn’t even have seasoning on it, or at least we didn’t taste any. Like I said nothing was bad, but nothing was out of the ordinary. I will say it was all prepared really quick though which was nice to get in and out.

The service was great and the employees were very nice. But this was not good BBQ. The fries were undercooked. The pulled pork tasted like it was made in a crock pot and had no flavor. The shrimp was good as was the Mac and cheese. There’s not much on the island, so it’ll do if you’re really hungry, but I’d rather pick up some food and cook. It was way too expensive for the quality.

It's a little place tucked away inside Jekyll Market. On our first visit we had the fried shrimp and sweet potato fries. The best shrimp!! On our second visit we had the pulled pork sandwiches, so good! The macaroni and cheese was okay. Would definitely recommend this place and would go back if we ever make it back to Jekyll island.

We got there at 6:45 and they had just closed, but were so nice they let us order. We both had the shrimp and fries. One french fries an one sweet potato fries. I have eaten many shrimp and these rank right at the top for fried shrimp. You enter through the store and it's at the back. There is not a sign outside.Kid-friendliness: There are outside tables on the sidewalk. Lots of choices on the kid friendly menu.

The shrimp was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed trying the different sauce choices with the half a chicken we also ordered. The staff was very friendly.
