What surprise! They had hand dipped Ice cream! Prices were very good. We had Pecan Praline & Strawberry Cheesecake. I think they serve Yoders. Same as Moo Cows on St Simons. Ruby says it was really good too.

The place was amazing. The woman who was at the counter was SUPER!!! Helpful she didn't try to sell us unless stuff since we're not from around here she told us that we had all we needed and just needed a little bigger sinkers

I had the opportunity to fish here two different days. The employees at the bait and tackle shop were very friendly and most helpful with dispensing advice. The fishing was fantastic! The covered sections of the pier offer protection from the sun and rain. The scenery is beautiful around the pier. I saw a pod of dolphins swim by on my first visit. I would highly recommend this to anyone that likes fishing or sightseeing. There is no charge for using the pier.

Beautiful area and even more of a beautiful place. I love the fact that you can not only fish but walk the beach and go swimming. Saltwater does the body some good and this place kinda makes you put the tech down and just be social the old school way. Asking other fishermen how and what's biting or talking to other beach goers asking how's the water or what kid of dog they have brings you back to that time where you want to talk to others. Just wish the fish were biting that day.

Great place to fish and just get out on the beach. Lots of drift wood and shells. What a wonderful view.

The fishing pier is great for those who fish, but the best part is the beach. Known as driftwood beach, it's so peaceful and pretty. If you go right after the tide goes out there are all kind of surprises to find.

Great little store with a great selection of bait and tackle. Late hours are a plus as well. Every time I visit this store I have had a great experience with employees and the fact that they have had what I wanted every time!

Tl;dr: Renter beware as we ended up paying way more than anticipated due to cheap line and poorly-maintained equipment.I rented 5 fishing poles, and bought 2 crab baskets plus bait, pliers, and a knife - everything my extended family needed for a fun day of fishing and crabbing off the pier. It was about $150, which didn’t seem bad, but when checking out, Kayla at the front desk said that if we lost a rig that we could come back and buy more. I should have realized at that point that the charges were just starting.By the time we had fished for about 3 hours, we had purchased 8 additional rigs (around $40), because the line they have on the rods is so wimpy that it snaps with the littlest bit of tension. We only caught a couple small things - everything else that took the bait ended up getting away when the line broke.Even with the additional costs and the subpar line, we were having fun and I was set to post a glowing review. Then a pole broke. We caught what seemed like something fun but realized quickly it was just a stick. Not even a heavy one. My fiancé, a very experienced fisherman, had the pole and was reeling it in when the top just snapped off. It was only the second time we tried to reel something in with that rod. It wasn’t being abused or under any extraordinary use. I reported the break to the store and they said they’d have to charge me $60 for it.After spending so much for a few hours worth of entertainment, I’m really angry about being charged this replacement fee. The pole is an UglyStik, which I know is usually decent, so they must not maintain the equipment very well. And why should they, when they can get renters like me to pay for it?They did offer to rent us another pole, of course. I’m sure they relished the opportunity to “justify” another replacement.I’ll definitely be taking my business elsewhere next time we’re in the area.

I enjoyed the visit to this little fishing center. There were 2 ladies working one older and the other late 20s. I’m telling you they were so smart and intelligent about the fishing tackle and baits. The friendly attitude made a huge impact on this TN Gal! Thanks ladies and I enjoyed the many visits I made in there while on vacay! The gifts I brought back from your center was very loved by all! Thanks y’all!

No mud minnows today. No change for $100 bill. Which is convenient being they charge extra to use a card. Over charged because the girl left the previous customers charges on the register then rang us up.We spend our money in this place most every weekend. I don’t understand the lack of bait. Will be catching my own from here on out. After 6 years of using this store they just don’t seem to give a hoot about their customers.

This place is super beautiful. Even the public restrooms are kept very clean, which is impressive. The campgrounds are amazing, hotels and condos are gorgeous. I highly recommend Drift wood beach also. I can't believe how amazing the entire place is down to the very last detail.

We love the pier. The bathrooms are always clean and ready for use, the store is always clean and the staff friendly, helpful, professional, polite and all around great!!The entire Island is a perfect little hideaway to visit for a relaxing time, be it a day, weekend, week or month.... including becoming a resident. I always refer people to Jekyll over any other island in Georgia or even South Carolina..

Jekyll island is a great place to go, relax and play in the water. The sun and surf is warm and inviting from the moment you hit the bridge to the island. It costs $6 for a car or car and boat. Up a dollar since last year. We found out that veterans can enter the island for free. Stop and talk to someone at the gate and they'll let you in. Way to go! The North end of the island is a great place to fish off the pier or the surf. It's also a nice place to take your family and play in the water with younger children. The east side of the island usually has white caps and a rougher surf. The island has a turtle rescue center that you can't miss. It's a learning experience for the whole family. There is a gas station on the island as well as multiple shops and restaurants. Go and make a day of it.
