It has a good selection of stuff, and most of the items are cheaper than anywhere else in town. However, they've been keeping the self checkouts closed at weird times for no apparent reason. And when we go through the normal checkout, they automatically round up "literacy donation" without asking or letting us know. That's a BIG NO for me so I would've given more stars but what's been going on recently has made me not want to go unless I know for sure that the self Check outs are open

This DG market was a great addition, especially if you were looking to save on groceries and not have the hassle and higher prices of the bigger brand name grocery stores. They stay well stocked. The one drawback is the lack of a variety of fresh produce and fresh meat selections.

Terrible! Not even worth the one star I had to give it on this review! Ever since that place has opened they have issues with any type of card you use, debit or credit cards, no matter what bank issued the cards. They have to run the transactions at least twice! The icing on the cake was this morning! I had to go purchase a few essential items and for once there was 3 employees working and they were actually unpacking boxes!! Can you believe it?! So I pick out my items and go to the one register that was open. There was a message on the key pad that you insert your card that said “system error”. So I waited a few minutes. So I finally reluctantly went to the self checkout. By this time I am mad! So I scan my 10 items and go to insert my card which once again this machine did not accept. So furious at this point I go walk two laps around the entire store to go find an employee. I told the employee to come void my order because I didn’t want the items because of all of the trouble I had. So employee busts out laughing! I didn’t consider funny at all. Employee had to get another employee, assistant manager I guess, to come cancel my purchase. So I asked him if the charges were still on my card which he said no. So I tried to login to my bank to check to see if the transaction went through. Well you cannot get any phone service inside the store. So I go out to my vehicle and was finally able to login to my account and I was charged for the $50 purchase at Dollar General Market! Employees said it didn’t go through. So now tomorrow I have to call my bank to dispute this transaction! Never again!! Dollar General Corporate needs to send a technology specialist down here to fix this problem!

Still don't know why they built a second one when the first one couldn't even keep stuff in stocks to save their lives. This one has had self check outs that do not take cash since they opened, for about a month did not have bags to even put our purchased merchandise in, and now the ONE register is down and they don't even take cash at this time. It's a joke.
