Today was the first day I went into alter coffee in Hogansville. I started working over here about 2 or 3 weeks ago at Liberty Communities new construction subdivision. I wanted to check out the local businesses and area activities. I went to altar Coffee this morning to check it out and I'm so glad I did! I had a hard time finding it at first but then I realized it's inside the old train depot which is adorable! The owners, Josh and McKinley were super sweet and apparently they just opened in February. What a great addition to this cute town! The coffee was not only beautifully crafted but delicious and it was an awesome cup of coffee. I also enjoyed a chocolate muffin which is decadent. I will definitely be back and I hope many people will give them business. It is totally worth walking a little bit to get there and it is a great morning stop and makes you feel happy when you know it's going to be a local hotspot ☕

I’ve been looking forward to this coffee and I’m so glad I was able to stop by today. I wish we had a coffee shop like this where I live in California. The atmosphere nice and quite while the decor is to die for! It’s so aesthetically pleasing. I want to live there!! I got a simple americano, added brown sugar syrup and light creamer. It was so so flavorful!! Decent pricing for good quality coffee. Will definitely be coming back every time I visit!!

I did not expect to stumble upon such a cute place! We needed fuel/food and decided to stop right before traffic got bad. As we drove into town looking for a park so the kids could play, the city looked sleepy/rundown. However, once we parked and walked into the small downtown we realized there's an adorable little section of shops.One of those happened to be station coffee. Bright hip atmosphere right next to the train tracks. We ordered delicious food and superb coffee, then sat in the separate conference room so I didn't have to worry about my kids being a little loud. They loved watching the train pass by. So thankful to find such a yummy cool spot!

THE best coffee around. Anytime I try a new coffee shop, I get their americano. If someone can make a good americano, they can do anything. Something so simple, yet so often poorly executed. And Alter Coffee nailed it. When we went, they were using freshly roasted beans from North Georgia roaster Valor, with several varieties available. The baristas were exceptionally knowledgeable and patient with us, and served their drinks up in the most relaxing coffee shop around. Can't wait to go back once it gets warmer and try out the patio seating.

Peaceful vibes even with the occasional train rumbling past. It took me several tries to figure out where it was. Just between the train tracks and College St it’s in the alley in between. I had a cappuccino with almond milk that came with beautiful latte art.There’s a culture of coffee developing in the deep south that is balancing love, community, quality and Christ. It’s not a bad look. Check out Prevail in Montgomery or Sidetrack near Auburn for similar environments, philosophies and of course delicious coffees and teas.

This coffee shop is a place where memories are made. I love that it is built into an old train station and it really has that nostalgic train station feel. The coffee is amazing here. The staff are very kind and friendly. I’m never disappointed with my latte anytime I come here with friends or family. I am pretty boring concerning my drink order, but the other drinks that I have seen people ordering look absolutely amazing. If station coffee is your local go to, kudos! Or if you are driving to a really cute little town to enjoy something new, you will not be disappointed.

Found this gem while taking back roads from AL to FL. So worth the detour off our drive. Amazing cup of coffee and tasty cookies (think they were called “loaded cookie”). Super friendly staff . . . enjoyed hearing all about the history of the building and downtown. Sounds like a lovely community. Hope to visit again.

Really cute spot. Been coming here since it was the station in 2019. The new owner has done a great job decorating the space and making it feel inviting. They have a shop dog, and even as a dog owner and lover I find pets inside food/dining establishments a bit off putting but the pup was very cute and friendly. Seems like they might put him behind the register when it gets too busy though. Coffee was good but not stirred well so all of the syrup sat at the very bottom of our drinks.

We visit family in West Georgia pretty frequently, and we love coming to Hogansville every time. We fell in love with The Station, but each of our last three visits have been mildly disappointing. The vibe of the place is great, but the coffee wasn’t as great as it had been in the past.

the pastries are amazing! the coffee is fantastic and the employees are the sweetest! there is adorable inside seating and such cute seating on the outside. such a relaxing and welcoming vibe right when you walk into the shop. everyone is so sweet and they truly love and value their customers.

-The decor and atmosphere are comfortable and inviting.-The Spicy Chiken Poké Bowl was tasty and way overpriced for a "lunch special".-They really make it difficult for me to want to spend money here because of limited food selection with limited availabilty, they close too early, and are too expensive to frequent every day.-Every time I ask for artificial sweetner (Splenda, Equal, etc), they say "we're getting some soon" and then never do (heard that 4 times in the last 3 weeks). When I asked the owner, Agnes, what Diabetics are supposed to use, she said, "they usually bring their own". Maybe so, but what kind of cafe makes u bring your own sweetner? Then when I brought them a new box of sweetner, she said "we can't take that," like it isn't her decision what gets purchased or not. Sounds small, but if I can't flavor my coffee the way I like, why would I go to that coffee shop?-Based on how many empty business fronts there are in the area, it's obvious that this is not yet a thriving area for business, and being such a niche cafe is going to be a detriment for a while.-At least they have wifi =)

Just the cutest, friendliest little coffee shop tucked away in this little town. I made the drive from Warm springs for a drink and some beans and was so pleasantly surprised. The staff was helpful and kind, quick to answer questions and didn’t appear to be annoyed when I asked what multiple items on the menu were. The decor and seating area is inviting and looks like the perfect study/date spot. If I was local in any way I would be a regular here. Not to mention- the pumpkin chai was one of the best chais I have ever had. I also appreciate that they are supporting a local potter by selling handmade mugs in the cafe.

This place is a lovely little gem. I take my kids for breakfast or go on my own to have some peace. Fascistic coffee, never burnt. The food is good quality and really reasonably priced. The staff is kind and patient, professional and yet personable. Safe for obedient children and nursing mothers.
