Was not impressed at all. Walked in and I'm guessing it's the owner is on the phone. We are not acknowledged. We look around VERY limited inventory and I'd say the majority of it is old and out dated. As we were looking for live feeder mice, she had some that were being called mediums. It would be a stretch them medium, closer to smalls. But beggers cant be to pickie. Had to get her off the phone to wait on us. We wanted 9 mice. She had a to-go soup bowl to put them in. 😖 Luckily, we had a container better suited than what she had.She has a few birds, a hamster, 2 small rats, a few fish and A LOT of empty tanks with nasty water in them. Like I said before has we not been in a bind we would not have purchased the mice. It's a run down little store with high prices.

Visited this place in AUG 2023. Mostly a fish world , but the do have some other stuff.Unfortunately, they have a poor bunny with roaches in its cage.

Went in to get water tested because my fish keep dying. They made helpful suggestions to which products would help correct my water levels. The gentlemen spent time explaining information that I needed to maintain a healthy tank. I will definitely be back for future needs. I don't understand the negative reviews. I did not think the store smelled or had dirty fish tanks.

I called around to various stores looking for a farlowella (one of my favorite tank additions). This store doesnt keep them in stock, but they were the only store around that said they'd be able to special order one for me. It took about 3 weeks to come in (at no fault of the store's), and I'm very pleased with my fish! I drive 2 hours round trip, and it was worth every minute.It was the first time visiting the store, and all the fish tanks seemed well maintained with healthy marine life. In addition, the staff has been nothing but helpful and kind in helping me. Fish World will be my go to store for all things marine life from here on out.

The staff is very knowledgeable about fish. I can see how some people will get rubbed the wrong way with the owners. They are a bit costly for items; however, they won't blow smoke just to get you to purchase an item. I like this kind of attitude. The tanks are always in pristine condition. There is a good selection of medication for fish. I was thinking about getting Discus fish and the owner suggested that I get my planted tank up and running first before purchasing the fish. This was the best advice I've received. I’m not sure if they can do special orders, but call and see. It's been about 7 months and my plants are growing pretty good. I will make a purchase of Discus from them soon. If you want someone that cares about the fish, these guys do 100%. The store selection varies from time to time. One side of the store is dedicated to freshwater/tropical and the other side is saltwater. It's a small operation but every comet gold fish that I've purchased for my son is still alive. I picked up the same amount from petsmart and they are all dead. Please do your water changes…not every kit tests the same.

If you're a reptilian lover like me, you know what we'll cared for reptiles look like.This store sells chameleons, a very hard to care for reptile. They keep them in glass tanks, which any semi intelligent reptile owner knows that stagnant air makes chameleons I'll and they need at least two mesh sides to their tank as well as a specialty humidifier unless you plan to do it yourself every three hours including overnight. The birds are kept in tanks much too small. The "coral" is sad. Seriously sad. It looks like a beginner tank gone horribly horribly wrong. Anyone who knows even a little tiny bit about animals should be able to take one look around this store and know something it horribly wrong. You can see rat traps hidden in corners as well.I'm pretty positive this place should be shut down as I'm well aware of the laws for exotic animals in pet stores and the way they need to be maintained.The two people working were rude when I attempted to ask questions, the owner didn't bother to get up when I asked where things where. And I've seen comments on bad reviews saying they would take "legal" action against people. Which is ridiculous....Honestly 0/5 stars and hoping these animals are rescued. May even be going back just to rescue a few myself.

I absolutely love this place. I go here on the regular to buy frozen food for my fish. (I have a 55 GAL.) They are very helpful with any questions you would ever have, a great selection of supplies for your tank and if there is something specific you are looking for they can even order it for you sometimes.The people are very friendly and better then lots of the PETSMART's located in Savannah, GA that everybody seems to say is so much better even when their supply of fish have ICH and they don't seem to care.This place is clearly better.

I absolutely love this store. family owned. They have sweet deals for their customers. They have the freshest water to give your animals, turtle, fish or lizard. They have heat lamps, (all Waltages) all types of live food. My turtle loves the mealworms; which turn into beatles. :) the staff are so friendly. I go every week and 1/2 for the water. Simply because its $1 for a gallon refill.

Disgraceful. The other reviews pretty much said it. The staff are there for a paycheck, the products are filthy and ill-kept, and the non-fish pets look to have given up on life. I almost bought a feeder rat to give it a good home, but at this point I think they'd love death's cold embrace. I'll be making the long trip to Savannah for my pet supplies from now on. Those animals need help.

Today was the 3rd time my husband and I visited this store. We live 2 hours away from this store. Last visit we bought a bunch of fish including a few pacu fish, so my husband wanted to go back and get another pacu. So before we made that long trip, I called to make sure they were opened and actually had a pacu. The elder man answered the phone and told me they had one left. I explained to him I’d be there in 2 hours that I was on my way, and asked if he could hold that one pacu until I got there. He told me he would. We arrive an hour and 45 minutes later and walk in. The same elder man asks if he can help us. I told him that I was there to get the pacu that he said he would hold for me. He looked at me and pointed to the lady checking out at the counter and said “that lady just bought it” and walked off. I about flipped out. The lady behind the counter asked me if she could help me with anything as the old man walked back by, I looked at her and told her what happen, she looked at the man and said, “really?” He looked at her like he didn’t know what I was talking about. She then replied “you’re the only one answering the phone” I then replied “I drove almost 2 hours, for a fish that you said you’d hold for me, this is really messed up” old man then said he’d have more next week!!! My husband then looked at him and told him he had lost a customer. He didn’t care, which is fine, but this is not the way to run any store!! A wasted trip, waste of time and gas.

This store was disgusting. It smelled horrible and the poor animals they have are in dirty, nasty tanks and cages. They have absolutely no knowledge of the types of fish they carry. They flat out said that you can put 10 Oscars (African Cichlids) in a 10 gallon tank... I won't go back to this place.

They have a Huge selection of live animals and care products. Was chatting up one of the employees and he has 30years of experience here. Didn't try to sell us things we didn't need and weren't scared to let us handle the lizards we were interested in

Amazing staff, the budgies were kept in good spaced cages and it was clean. The selection of fish were interesting too but we were mainly there for the budgies. Good starting toys and travel cages.

I went here once with my daughter and have not nor will I go back. I was not pleased at all. It was dirty the fishes look sick or barley alive and the prices was high... Not sure if anyone ever brought anything from therm but i was not about to waste my dollars here. Hinesville need to do better and redo this whole shop to make it worth going to, even if its for the kids to look at.

It is unfortunate that it is the only one in Hinesville. They don't care about their customers. Doors locked on Saturday at 11:05 eventhough they are suppose to open at 11 am. The employee/owner saw I was waiting and just kept on vacuuming. Their prices are very high, even for a LFS. I reocmmend Coastal Aquarium in Richmond Hill or Exotic Underworlds in Savannah.

If you are a serious aquarium enthusiast and you live in Hinesville your best bet is to go to Savannah or Jacksonville, this store has nothing you could use in stock and the staff know little when it comes to fish. They carry the same thing Walmart does!! Seriously do not waste your time.

Walked in, walked right out. Went in looking for anything saltwater, seen dirty tanks, only 2 fish, and a lack of supplies. Didn't look at the freshwater selection because after looking at their saltwater stock i knew i was going to be disappointing. Plus is smelled like sour butt inside....

So knowledgeable, so kind, so helpful! Don't waste your time at the Big Chain stores like PetSmart and Walmart. This store is run on love and care forfor th animals. Ask any question and they will do everything they can to help you. They want the best for you and your animals that you're purchasing. They are not overpriced at all.Go check them out they'll be more than happy to help you!Thank you Dalton for taking the time to help explain everything to us!

Smelled awful, the guy working there had no idea what he was talking about when I explained I was looking for larger African cichlids because they are an aggressive fish. He said I must have special fish because they aren't aggressive.

If i could i would give it a .5 star! I think this place is a nasty,dirty,rotten,smelly,obnoxious to my nose, horrifying, place. Don't waste your time and money there! RUDE MUCH??!?!? NAW anyway, i bought a guinea pig and even though it was a baby, DEAD within at least 10 minutes..... GO TOO SAVANNAH NOW

This location is not somewheres that I would recommend buying fish. The store is dirty and just not pleasant to be in. The fish and equipment are priced much higher then necessary. Staff is somewhat knowledge but still not a reason to buy anything here.

Worst place purchased a seperater formy fish tank didnt seperate my fish could still get thru and no refund, no return as much business as we did with these people. Fish are crappy too

Absolutely horrible! If there was a rating for no stars I would! Called several times today and still no response! According to their shop they close at 6:30 as soon as I got off work they were closed! First and last time I attempt to come here. 0/10 would not recommend
