We popped into this place by accident as we were strolling the streets of Helen, what luck! We were greeted immediately by the friendly team that works there, learned about the history of Helen, and then hit up the Gift Shop which was the highlight for me. We ended up purchasing 4 ceramic little sculptures made by the artists Jaymi Hampton (she calls them FNERs) and she was so lovely to talk to brought life to our little creatures. I highly recommend this place!

Some nice art but I mostly enjoyed the history section were I got to see the history of Helen which was pretty cool to watch.

This is an awesome little break from the chaos of the tourist crush. The video presentation is nice, as well as a model of the Indian mound just outside of town. The local crafts were lovely. If you have any interest in local arts and crafts or history, stop in.

We love history and wanted to know how Helen, GA came to be a German town. We thought there would be a creative story of German families. Nope! We learned, the township, in 1969 wanted to win a contest!!!! They designed roofs so the plain concrete buildings were more true to the look of Germany, and the people dressed in costumes, winning that contest. I have to say, we were disappointed! The museum was interesting offering local artist work for sale. All in all, Helen has given us a much needed rest but we have experienced a lack of attention to detail where it matters most and the cheap American flair is old.

Love it! First time visit. Very friendly people, beautiful art. Can't wait to go back and appreciate the variety and support my community. I bought a beautiful piece that now hangs in my dining room. I admire it while having breakfast every morning. Great way to start the day.

I’m glad we decided to visit Helen Arts and Heritage. Different mediums were represented by local artists and having the history of Helen available was nice.

Here you can see original art of many sorts from many talented people. While it's true the weekends are very crowded the weekdays are remarkably serene. There's plenty of parking in various lots strewn throughout the Town. The art center is underneath the tall clock tower at the far end of town

I'm sure this place is cool, but the whole area (town) seems like a tourist trap. I didn't end up going but will rate 5 stars hopefully so other people can see this.

The center offers art classes for veterans and their families at no charge. Center has historical facts about Helen and beautiful artwork for reasonable prices.
