Sip & shop! Don’t mind if I do. They have a bar outside with patio seating. The bartenders were both very nice & allowed me to sample all three flavors of wine slushies. I ended up with the small mixed berry, while my friend got a large watermelon slushie. The store itself is great! I only ended up buying a few tomatoes which I brought home and made BLTs out of & they were delicious! Their bakery section was great. They even have a meat counter & deli counter with homemade pasta salads & more.

This grocery store is the cutest - rustic charm- modern style shopping. They have quite a bit of specialty items, as well as a German assortment of goodies.In the back is a deli with ready to eat/microwave freshly prepared items. Loved their Greek salad.

(End of December 2023) Went in here the night before we left Helen and agin on the way out. My mom and sister went the other times and raved so I had to visit. The Boom Boom Chicken sandwich was AMAZING but sadly got it once as it was out the other times they went. Grab it if you see it! The cookies are insanely huge. Kids loved the candy section.

Great convenience store. Lots of options for when you are in Helen. They have nice breakfast menu with build your own sandwiches. You need to go inside and head to the butcher area to place an order. Just fill out a form and wait for your breakfast! Plenty of parking in the area and a nice outdoor patio as well.

Such a sweet spot to explore with so many yummy things to try! I needed blinders on when I got to the baked goods. Everything in the deli case looked awesome as well. The butcher case was filled with a great selections of choice cut steaks. The produce area was nicely presented and selections looked fresh from the garden.The wine selections are fun and nicely displayed and beer is also available.There are cute seating areas outside to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and parking immediately across the street.Their bathroom was nice and clean, though it's only a single bath and you may have to wait a bit in line.Wish this place was near my house. I would visit often! Just a "feel good" place!

Wow! Lots to choose from in this adorable country store. You can get all your grocery needs here and more! From huge cookies, deli, chips, drinks to sandwiches in the porch. Make sure to check out the old ice box and get a soda. There was lots of parking in front of the store and across the small street.

This is a real grocery store. Many times you go to "vacation towns". The local grocery store seems to cater to tourists. They have most of what you need but many regular grocery items have to be acquired elsewhere. I was surprised at how big it was once inside. It is a "vacation town" so they do have a lot of German food items because of the German/Alpine tourist feature. But, this is good and it doesn't detract from having a great selection of traditional grocery items. They have a well stocked deli. Many cheese and bread selections as well. Terrific beer selection (especially German beers). They make delicious sandwiches. They have an outside beer garden with great hot food.

This store is much bigger on the inside than it appears from the outside. It’s packed with groceries! See the pics, which don’t show it all but might give a sense of the scale and selection. There is dedicated parking in downtown Helen for the store. The employees are nice.

Just the coolest country store! You’ve got to stop in if you are in Helen!It’s a full-service grocery store with a wonderful meat and deli section, but it’s so much more! There are so many local items, great beer and wine selection, local cheeses and dips, jars of local jelly, souvenirs…Seriously, just do yourself a favor and go in and explore for a while. They even have a Biergarten and you can sit on the deck in the sun and enjoy a drink and a snack.Staff are always super friendly and helpful. If you were staying in the city for a few days or in one of the cabins nearby, stop in and grab a few extra treats to make your vacation even more special. I really do love this place!

This is a perfect little market! Makes me mad at my local IGA. Seriously, We stayed here for 3 days and came to Betty's 6 times. Beer store, outside bar, rain ponchos, outside bar, breakfast biscuits. Oh ya, outside bar. DO NOT PASS UP BETTY'S.

Beautiful interior, and surprisingly large selection. The store has everything you need to make almost any meal you can think of. Huge selection of items from local to imported items. They even have a deli where they prepare fresh sandwiches and more. High quality cuts of meat, fresh pastries. It's like Helens version of a Publix.

I loved this little grocery store. We went during Christmas time and it was completely decorated for the holiday. The store had a lot of unique things that I'd never seen before but it also had things that you need like paper plates.

Betty’s is my favorite local spot.Whenever I pop in to the porch, someone always remembers me and makes me feel welcome—the people I’ve met sitting, sipping and eating keep me coming back to this tiny mountain town for more.The deli makes great sandwiches. I am partial to their vegetarian sandwich possibilities, and the whole wheat bread is especially delicious. Thick slices.Betty’s is just a terrific spot for community and good food, and if you want to meet the real Helen, have a laugh and great conversation, here’s where you’ll find her.

I love this store. They have everything I need when I’m in town. Their breakfast is good and quick! You just fill out a paper and turn it in. Then they call your name when it’s ready. You can eat it there or take it to go. They have coffee out thats already made and hot. I like the variety of products they over in there store. The old fashioned items and old fashioned sodas are really cool! There is a restaurant attached also. There are chairs you can sit in and relax. I love the old tractor decor also. The bee hive inside is awesome. I highly recommend this store!

Imagine IGA and Cracker Barrel had a baby, and they named it Betty. There can not possibly be something you are looking for and can not find in this store! Antiques are used as props throughout the store. Local food companies are offered at every turn. It's a delight to the senses! Just when you think they couldn't add another nuance to the store, they also have an old fashioned meat shop and a restaurant. This is their 50th anniversary. Folks, that's something to be proud of! This is a must-see in Helen, GA!

An enjoyable place to stop when visiting Helen. They have an assortment of hot biscuits available in the morning. You can enjoy them on the tables outside. The market itself also has some wonderful local foods, including a wide selection of pickles and jams. The homemade cookies are absolutely massive. Be sure to check out the active beehive!

The cutest little general store. Felt like I had stepped back in time. Loved the nostalgic ambiance. Everyone was so nice that worked there. I came home with some giant cookies that were well priced and delicious.

I am sure this place could be good with proper procedures and adequate staff in place. I'm visiting this weekend for Oktoberfest with my family and we were treated rudely by employees working in the breakfast sandwich section. We placed our order slips on the counter and were told to "hurry up because the kitchen is behind and we need to wrap it up"Excuse me?I have worked in customer service for many years, managed many established places and staff. Not ever would I be okay with any PAYING customer being treated this way. It is not our fault that your kitchen is behind. You have posted signs around the building that breakfast is served until 11AM. If there is an issue with serving customers then you guys need to consider removing those signs. I do not appreciate being treated like a nuisance customer, especially on my birthday.I canceled my order because I would rather spend my hard earned money elsewhere.UPDATED REVIEW:I have changed my negative rating to a 5 star rating because of the manager Nicole and her kindness. Thank you to Nicole for making this situation better for me and my family.

I really like this store. One of the best country stores with a huge selection of good items.It's always been busy when I visit, but that's to be expected in a tourist town. I love their breakfast. It is good cooking at a great price for Helen.

We always like to stop here when we're in Helen They have so much stuff in this store You could spend 35 minutes just walking through it. We always enjoy their honey, And I bought one of their peanut butter cookies and it was probably one of the best peanut butter cookies I've had in a very long time. They have pretty much anything you need here if you're in a little cabin and you need supplies this is the place to go If you don't want to travel farther out.

You have to pay a visit to Betty’s when you visit Helen! It’s got the basic supplies for a grocery trip, but also a selection of locally made jams and sauces. It’s got a bakery with cookies bigger than your face. It’s got a meat market where you can pick out your steak. And it has a cooler of craft sodas and a counter of trail mix and other snacks. Load up while you’re there!

If you are in Helen definitely you need to visit this amazing local shop. Their sub is amazing and delicious. Make sure to test their German potato salad. They have variety of sauces/ condiments which you can add on the sandwiches.

This place is where local people go. Reasonable price and friendly staff. The sandwich in the back is delicious and half price compared to the ones in the main street. The atmosphere is unique and cozy.

Oh my gosh! We have been visiting Helen for years and never once stopped in this place. Today we were with friends and she suggested that we go by Betty's to get some sandwiches for a picnic lunch. I'm so glad we did. The sandwiches were delicious and one was more than enough food for my wife and I.The big 'OH Wow' for me was the store. Never did I expect to find so many things to look at in this store. From the street it is an unassuming looking place, but you have to step inside to realize how amazing this place it. There is a full blown meat market, deli and much more. This place harkens back to what stores looked like in the 20's and 30's. By all means check out this place the next time you are in Helen, GA!

This is the only place we go every time we’re in Helen. At first we came in for the gigantic cupcakes (I always crave the German chocolate topped with a heaping scoop of coconut!) for under $3 and surprisingly delicious, fresh, inexpensive baked goods. The cookies are also amazing and famous. Then, we tried the cafe outside on a whim with low expectations. It turned out to be delicious—and a great value! The Rueben and pasta salad are delicious. They hide a cookie and pickle under the sandwich, too. The extensive beer list includes many imported German options for the same price as inside the store ($6-$7). We don’t typically buy many typical grocery store items here, but we make it here every trip!
