Great staff. My daughter did her senior project on abused pets and decide to volunteer there to get insight. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. My daughter really enjoyed it.

So incredibly run down and unsanitary, people smoking indoors with birds and mold growing on old pans next to bird cages. All birds are fed seed mix (very inappropriate diet for any parrot much less a macaw or even eclectus). Some of the reptiles have inadequate lights and cobwebs in their cages. Can’t believe people would board their birds here too! If your bird is boarded it gets seed mix and maybe two perches if it’s lucky, forget about toys or a clean cage. Most birds aren’t even adopted out, volunteers end up spending most their time cleaning after birds that are payed to be boarded there. Seems more like hoarding and roadside zoo than a rescue, for example there is a beautiful and gentle hyacinth macaw that could be easily adopted out, but the owner would rather let her rot in a dirty cage with no toys and seed mix just so he can say he owns a hyacinth macaw. They have maybe 2-3 outdoor cages that look up to standard that all the pics they use on the website are from, the rest are in rusting dirty cages and the large “aviaries” they brag about are sheds with no enrichment.

Dead rabbits. Horrible place. Coming from a parrot lover who has been researching to own a macaw for literal years own this "Rescue" does not care about their animals. They had rabbits when I was there in the 100° Georgia weather. These rabbits had no water whatsoever. The parrots were overstuffed in their aviaries. Yes they were large but not for the hundreds of birds stuffed. I'm namely talking about the budgie, cockatiel, conure cage. It was a large one but for the amount of birds and lack of perches it wasn't good.I also noticed the macaws cage was lacking too with a lack of perches and toys. I also saw a cage with like 50 rats. For those of you that don't know rats should have padding so their little feet aren't getting damaged on the metal bars and there was no padding or enrichment just rats stuffed in a cage that would be good for maybe 3-4. Again there weren't 3-4 rats there were literally 50 all in the heat with no food or water. There was also some trailers in the back I don't know if people are living there or what. I would recommend if you truly love parrots and animals to not go here. I drove 4 hours to visit this place and was VERY disappointed. It was concerning to say the least and this place should be shut down.Feels more like a glorified hoarding situation then genuine bird lovers. They have more then they can afford to teach

Feathered Friends was phenomenal to work with the re-home my late parents’ five birds. Danielle is so compassionate, patient, and understanding. I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t found this place. For those people remarking about the conditions of the facility, it is a facility that has animals; it cannot be kept immaculate 24/7. The facility is adequately sanitary. And keep in mind that this place runs strictly on donations and volunteers, who are doing an excellent job. It takes a lot to keep this place going and Danielle, Bob, and the other volunteers are the heart and soul of this place. If you don’t like the way it looks, volunteer your time and donate; do something constructive other than leave a nasty review that only hurts this organization even further. You should see some of the conditions some of these animals have come from. This place saves lives. Those that had a problem adopting, this place is selective about where the birds go to, so as they don’t end up surrendered again, neglected, or mistreated. They know birds well enough to know when a person is right for adoption.I have no regrets or second thoughts about me surrendering my parents’ birds here and I am very grateful for everyone at Feathered Friends!

This is certainly a hidden treasure in the CSRA. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable folks that gladly answer all of your questions. The array of birds is amazing and Mr. T the tortoise is very cool as well. We will return during one of there seasonal festivals.

AMAZING place with some fantastic people! Feathered Friends does a great job of taking care of these beautiful animals. Definitely make sure to donate if you can! These beautiful birds are expensive to take care of but SO worth it!

Great place to volunteer. They rescue and rehabilitate birds as well as offer a tour and gift shop. Volunteering is good for older ages and involves cleaning cages, refilling food, and refreshing water.

This place is a gem for some low cost family time and educational. Almost every flying creature, turles, scorpions, frogs lives here. The hundreds of birds (large and small) here are amazing. My family truly enjoyed ourselves. Gave 4 stars because of general appearance needs to be maintained a little better. Well worth the trip tho!

Absolutely disgusting birds are left in the cold water pans that have clearly never been cleaned out or changed the heat lamps in the snake tank were out and broken glass on the table by the tank. This place needs to be shut down or put under much better and needed care the volunteers here should be ashamed of the care they are giving these beautiful animals. The visit left me and the people I visited with feeling sick and extremely sorry for the animals kept here.

Honestly extremely worried about the animals here... this place is very run down, there are a lot of birds(such as macaws) outside in cages that dont look clean while it is 40 degrees outside. The person who gave me half a tour before telling me to check out the rest of the area alone(which I wound up just getting my son and i to the car because I really didn't feel safe) told me most of their reptiles were killed a few weeks ago in the cold weather. There was a scorpion in a tank and my son asked if it was okay and they said it may be dead or close to it... The property looks terrible. There are people living in the back area in campers with trash every where that I was told to check out alone with my child. Do not recommend... we were really excited to check this place out and now I can't believe they charge people anything to go there... terrifying experience.

My mom and I took my kids here and the place is very run down. The birds don't look like they are very well taken care of and they are in little buildings scattered throughout a somewhat hazardous property that you navigate on your own. They do have alot and there's a variety of animals but the property is in poor condition as well as the staff that was not very personable and somewhat rude to my children. They even had a gift shop with items for children but it seemed like a problem if my kids touched anything. I was not very impressed and I wouldn't recommend to anyone I know.

I was invited to visit this place while I was at work one day and I'm glad I did. Everyone here is wonderful and the way they care for the birds is absolutely amazing. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time walking around and seeing the birds in their enclosures as well as getting a chance to interact with some of the residents there. The people there are knowledgeable and it really shows how much they love each and every bird that comes into their care. We will definitely be back and we encourage other people to check out the wonderful things they do for these animals.

Love this place, all of the flights are in good shape. I love the tortoise they have and the koi pond is so relaxing. All of the staff are wonderful and there are so many cute birds you could adopt. 10/10 would recommend.

I have always loved birds and have raised several in my life time. I was so excited when I found this place. I wanted to adopt a bird for my handicapped daughter. My experience was so awful, I ended up not getting a bird and my daughter was so disappointed and cried all the way home. I drove 4 hours one way to adopt a cockatoo or an African Gray. There was at least 200 birds that I saw. Bob, the owner, was very rude and would not let me adopt one. He said no birds were for adoption. He kept telling me birds were mean. Like I said, I’ve had several birds and no problems with any of them. They just want love and affection. The grounds were very nasty looking. There was so much clutter laying around. The birds were so poor looking, no feathers on some of them. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Bob the owner is a very rude and hateful man.

Such a cute place! I loved my trip here and plan to come back again! Friendly people, so many birds. All beautiful in there own special way, most are friendly, some come up to you and talk and dance and fly around. A lot of the birds love when people come and hang out with them.

Had an awesome with my boys who are bird lovers. Beautiful birds and nice little pond. They even enjoyed the tortoise. The staff rode is around on a golf cart and taught a lesson throughout. Entree fee is by donation. I think it would be an awesome project for a Boy Scout or Girl Scout Troop.

The large outdoor bird flights allow you to see the birds safely, flying in their habitat and most often they will hang on the screen so you can witness their beautiful colors and you can talk to them and they might even answer you be sure you ask for Casper

These birds are in HORRIBLE condition!!! They are in the 90-100° heat with no misters, dirty water, only seed to eat - no fruit or vegetables, bean mix nothing! They get ZERO affection! No one offered us a tour, we had to walk around in the heat - several people who live there just watched us but never interacted or even took care of the birds! Bob the owner was so rude to us I offered to call the local grocery stores for food donations and he snapped at me! I was only trying to help these birds! I also asked about a bird and he quickly said none are for adoption! I was so turned off I decided NOT to give me very large generous donation that day and it was given to another animal organization who will use it properly! All these birds need is LOVE!!!

I adopted my two birds from their rescue about six years ago with my mother and brother. At this rescue, the bird "picks" you. We happened to be lucky enough to have two wonderful little boys pick us. I would have never have met the great bird loves of my life if it had not been for them. I shudder to think where my babies would be at without feathered friends forever. They have the best interest in mind for their birds when picking out adopters.

We have not visited FFF for 5 or 6 years. We were hoping it would have improved. First of all where are all the birds. They used to have thousands. With that being said they should have plenty of money for the grounds and birds that are there. There is so much junk laying around. It's as if they start a project and don't finish. Or if they finish all the left over stuff just stays where they dropped it. No one seems to cut grass or weed eat. Lots of stuff to trip over. Now the birds. There are cages with black roofs in the southern heat. Some of them needed a deep cleaning. No toys or anything thing to keep the birds engaged. It's no wonder a lot of them are feather pluckers. Please spend money on keeping the birds happy and healthy. That is what you are there for and that is what they deserve.

I have reviewed the website and emailed with a manager. The facility looks beautiful and I'm sure its a wonderful place to visit. My worry is their adoption process is flawed and as a result they take in birds, but few birds leave. Their policy states "The bird has to pick you." So if you want a cockatoo to adopt and work through the application then they might decide that a parakeet picks you. For someone wanting a cockatoo, they will probably just head back to a breeder to get one. (causing more unwanted birds in the long run) My macaw took 2 weeks or so to warm up to me. Now he's my best friend. If he had been at this rescue, he would never leave.

It's everything a roadside zoo has under the guise of a rescue. Substandard diet, care, and health. Not enough enrichment for the sensitive inmates in their care. It feels like an episode of hoarders than an actual sanctuary

Great place to take your kids. Bob, one of the volunteers there does a phenomenal job making you feel welcome. If you can please donate to help keep this rescue going.
