Dogs have no yard, play area or dog run for exercise. This facility has a lot of deferred maintenance. That being said, the staff member Katja is an absolute professional and asset to this facility. She makes volunteering enjoyable.

Having lots of puppies can be chaotic however these babies are so well taken care of. Their kennel was constantly being cleaned and the nursing mama is highly favored. The friendliness of the staff is unmatched. I highly recommend volunteering with this facility.

Absolutely adorable puppies that need a home! The staff is wonderful and let us love on the puppies until our hearts were content. The shelter is always in need of donations and are grateful when they are brought in. If wanting to donate, they are looking for food, bleach, and trash bags. Stop in and visit with all of the precious animals!

Fort Benning Stray Facility is amazing. Their rescues are SO well taken care of. You can honestly tell right off the bat that they truly do care. We got to take a dog home and see how she interacted with our kids and she was wonderful. We adopted her 3 days later. I am planning to come back to adopt a second when the time is right. I would highly recommend to come here if your looking for a puppy or a dog before anywhere else.

Super friendly staff and helpful with answering any of your questions. They let my son play with some puppies and knew what dogs were okay with kids. Highly recommend for volunteering, adopting or even fostering.

This is one place that really cares about their animals. They aren't just going to adopt to anyone that comes out, they want them going to good homes. So yes they ask questions and if someone doesn't like it or isn't willing to answer, they don't deserve an animal. They are cleaned up after constantly, cared for in every way possible and could use more volunteers to help make it even better.

They are doing great things for the community and everyone there works so hard. Our sweet girl is settling into her new home really well💕

The people who run this place are truly amazing in my experience. They honestly care about the animals under their care and work hard to find suitable owners for strays past their hold-time. They also often work with the dogs that have issues that would make them less adoptable (such as dog aggression) to help them become a more suitable option for more people. I haven't adopted from them but I saw someone complete the process in a timely manner and take their new pet home on the same day after a decently lengthy playdate with their existing pet to make sure it was a good fit.

We adopted our cat from this facility in December. He was well-cared for when we got him and the staff were (and continue to be) fantastic people. They go out of their way to provide for the animals there, and still made time for us to play with and select just the right kitten for our family. The fees are modest and include spay/neuter and the shots up to date.

Hard working, friendly, and genuine staff who care about placing each and every animal in the right home and very helpful. Clean facility. You can tell that these animals are cared for and loved. I volunteer here when I can. Definitely worth a look even if you're just visiting.

Caring, courteous and hard working Staff. I had the chance to experience what they deal with as far as turned in and surrendered animals. While I was there they took in an animal that had clearly been abused in every way and did not hesitate to begin to try and help the dog. They truly care about their animals. It was sad to realize that even on a military installation there are so many animals without a home.

This facility is amazing. It is very underrated but the woman that run it care so much about the animals. They rescue them from all over the region, make sure they get the medical care they need and spay/neuter. They are happy to take in strays to fix and help curb the overpopulation problems. If a cat is too feral to adopt out they have a cat ranch where they get to go live out their days happy, free and cared for. They work with several surrounding shelters helping one another and with pet stores to set up adoption days. They are very underappreciated and work around the clock to take care of the animals the way they deserve. I highly recommend stopping here before buying or adopting elsewhere.

I can unfortunately not recommend this facility. Although the general adoption process went smoothly the spay/neuter procedure which came with our $400 adoption was a horrible experience. Our dog became sick while under the care of Fort Benning Stray Facility who uses Peach Veterinary Care (Dr. Giles in Fort Valley, Ga) which is over 1hr 30mins from post. Our dog was very sick and needed emergency care from another vet. She was able to get better but this also came with a hefty fee. When we spoke with Nadine and her mother at Fort Benning Stray Facility they were rude and dismissive. If you do find your dream animal at this rescue please, please DO NOT have them spay/neuter your dog. Look elsewhere for that and I would caution communication with the facility itself due to their disregard and questionable practices.

It is a great place on ft Benning to get a dog. If you are PCSing they will take your dog for a small fee just to feed it. This is a nonprofit place that is also a no kill facility. I highly recommend anyone wanting a dog or needing to get rid of one to take it here.

The people here are very knowledgeable about the animals they adopt out here. They are careful about who they adopt out to, so dont be offended by the questions they ask. After all, they are truly in this to save the furbabies. The adoption fees are higher than other places, but 100% worth every dime. They truly want to place a dog or cat with your family that is a perfect fit!!#Chainfreedogs

So great to have an on-post facility that helps strays and owner surrenders. You can go to their facility and/or visit them on the weekends at Petsmart in Columbus for adoptable pets.

Puppies and kittens, What's not to love. Please foster and adopt an animal, this is a no-kill shelter and needs all the help it can get.

Horrible customer service. The lady was talking over me wouldn’t let me get a word in about why I wanted to bring a puppy in who would possibly be out on the streets if it wasn’t for me taking the dog.
