Dave and Lee are amazing! This last trip our boy wanted to jump out the window as soon as we pulled in! That’s a great feeling when you’re leaving them for several weeks for training. Dave is great with updates on the training too! It’s awesome to get video updates on progress. Dave and Lee are great to work with. I did a fair amount of researching before sending my GSP away for bird dog training and could not be happier with the results from Walker's Farm and Kennel. Dave is friendly and patient, and if you are new to bird hunting like me he will take the time to walk you through working with your dog to make sure you are ready.Lee is equally as nice and makes you feel right at home.When I picked up my dog, all of my expectations were exceeded. My dog was home sick and not responding well to training. Dave and team worked so hard to get her over that hump and by the time I picked her up, she performed amazingly. It was all to the effort and special care they took specifically to help my dog. Highly recommended trainer and our dog will be going back for her next round of training to Dave and Lee Walker. When my husband and I decided to get a dog, we immediately knew that we wanted a GSP that would keep up with our fast-paced lifestyle, exercise habits, and love of the outdoors.We came across Walker's Farm and Kennel and in August 2016 we welcomed 8 week old Otto into our home. He has the best temperament and listens extremely well (we didn't even have to potty train him he was so smart!). Dave breeds top of the line dogs that make the best family pets. Dave went through a round of bird training with Otto and sent daily updates on his progress. He was a great trainer for Otto and we could quickly see the improvements he was making.Most recently (December 2018) we welcomed 2 year old Greta into our home and it has been a very smooth transition. Greta has the same temperament as Otto and is very obedient. Even better, they are best friends! Walker's Farm and Kennel consistently breeds best-of-the-best GSPs.We also utilize their boarding services when we travel. It is extremely affordable, clean, and our dogs always have a great time. Lee is the best! I highly recommend Walker's Farm and Kennel.

We are new to the area. I had communicated with Lee prior to our move to board our 4 dogs. She was wonderful communicated via phone and email. We recently boarded our 4 dogs m. We visited the boarding facility first. We were very impressed with boarding facilities! The open space for the dogs to run and play. The cleanliness of the faculty and security in place. Lee was so wonderful as she knew I was anxious leaving our furbabies. She sent pictures of our furbabies. We will be boarding in the near future ! We were super happy with Lee and the boarding facility! Our babies were in good hands with Lee! She made me feel at ease knowing my 4 furbabies were taken care of! Dave is the real deal! I have 2 setters, the older one is 18 months and the younger one is 12 months. I had the older one trained by another trainer that was closer to my home, I was not satisfied with the training that he received. I took the younger one to Dave and could not be more satisfied. It takes me 6.5 hours to get to Dave’s farm one way and it is well worth the drive. When Dave was finished with the younger one I dropped the older one off for Dave to straighten out. Dave has worked out several bad habits that the older one was taught by the first trainer and he has spent a lot of time doing this. He sends videos at least every week that details the progress he has made with the dog, in the videos he explains what he’s working on, progress and what he’s going to do next. I couldn’t be more happy with the training and it’s well worth the 6.5hr drive. The videos and open lines of communication are Awesome, you pair that with a true professional that knows his stuff you won’t be disappointed!A big thanks to Dave and Lee for all the effort they have put in with my dogs Bo and Waylon!

Dave and Lee are the BEST!!! We purchased our two German Short-Haired Pointers from them last August and then left them at the Farm for Puppy Development Training for a month recently. We received messages and videos of their progress nearly every day. It was a riot to see them in the field, noses to the ground, flying through the tall grass and following Dave's directions, then pointing like statues and waiting. Dave is hilarious in his narration and should have his own TV show. Their kennel facility is super clean and they are always ready to offer no-nonsense advice on everything from what to feed our pups at a fifth of the price I was spending at our fancy neighborhood pet store, to tips on training them to be well behaved at home and on the leash. All while coaching you to relax a little and enjoy these wonderful dogs. I could not recommend them more highly and wish I could work for them!

I just recently had my two Brittanys at Walker’s Farm and Kennel. I have nothing but praises for Dave and Lee’s knowledge,hard work and determination to see my dogs succeed. They are exceptional to work with. They stayed in contact via text or email with the continued progress they made. I could not wait to see the videos they sent. My dogs are part of our family and right from the beginning we could tell they were in great hands. I kinda worried they might not want to come home🙃 They are set to return for a few weeks very soon. We needed to board our puppy GSP. We feel we were so lucky to find Walker's Farm and Kennel. Dave Walker is the kind of professional you want to work with your dog. Our puppy stayed there and went through an introductory puppy gun dog training where she was introduced to the appropriate steps of gun dog training for her age. Dave's knowledge of our dog's needs at this age was outstanding. He has such a love of the dogs and shows it while working with them. After her course of training was completed, our dog boarded at the facility until our return. She had lots of exercise and social exposure to other dogs. We were afraid that she would have so much fun that she would turn her back on us when we came to pick her. All the facilities are spotlessly clean and our dog came home in tip-top condition. She could not have been in better hands during our absence. The farm is conveniently located just off I-75. We highly recommend Dave Walker's faculty for training and boarding.

Walkers farm and kennel is by far the best in the business! As a professional guide I depend on Dave and Lee for the best dog breeding in the industry and training as well. Dave brings out the best in every dog that has the ability. If a dog is not meeting Dave’s standards during training he lets the owner know instead of milking the client of months of extra expense. I will always do business with walkers farm and kennel as a professional in the bird dog world! We have purchased 3 puppies from walkers farm and kennel. All puppies are very well socialized and make for the best pets and gun dogs. All off our dogs are great around other dogs and our child. When you buy a puppy from them you always get a “puppy packet” with great information on the breed and how to care for your new best friend. I believe they are in the business to continue an amazing breed of dog and not to just sell puppies as so many others.

And the man told me he was too busy doing something else to talk to me and then hung up the phone 🤦‍♀️ I’ve never made reviews on company’s in the past.. but felt like he should’ve been more “open” to talk and not just hang up considering this is a company 😪 smh.. time to do better

First time today..5/4/23. Was 2 minutes to 12 and they were very friendly despite 2 minutes to closing and they were going to go ahead and vaxxed my puppy. But they couldn’t as he needs to go next week at his 12 week mark.They were so very nice and friendly so I don’t understand some of the bad remark about the staff.

Over the last twelve years we have trusted Dave and Lee with multiple tasks and services for our family GSPs. During that period, we have purchased four puppies (Sandy, Holly, Etta, and Nessy). Dave has trained the latter three and provided corrective training for Sandy and many of our former older dogs. Most recently Dave was able to remedy another on of my dogs from being gun shy.We have sent 4 of our GSPs to North Dakota for summer camp, and taken advantage of their boarding kennel when traveling. Dave and Lee have somehow created the perfect field couch dog. Flint is almost a year old and he is as intense hunting as he is my wife's couch companion. Flint's demeanor is incredible and when we picked out a puppy we received the exact dog Dave and Lee strive to produce. We couldn't be happier. I recently left my GSP with Lee for a week while I was on vacation with my family. She took great care of him and he came back really happy. They understand the breed completely and are now my go to place when I’m going out of town. The facility is clean and has indoor air conditioning. Highly recommend.

My GSP puppy had been previously trained and introduced to birds, trials, and gun fire. Then the fireworks came on July 4th. Any loud noise scared her badly enough that she would hide under covers. When I called Dave and explained the situation, I immediately knew I not only had a real issue but felt confident he could resolve my pups gun-shyness. 10 days later, she was longer gun shy. She stayed with Dave for 3 weeks and is back to loving birds and hunting again. He would send us multiple progress videos per week and it was easy to see he's passionate about what he does and the dogs. Our dog is part of our family, and we trust Dave treats her the same way - she'll be going back to hone her skills. If you want your GSP or Brit to become a true bird dog, Dave is the guy you need to send your dog to.

My girlfriend and I have a black lab (privet) who had zero interest to be in the field with our GSP or any other dog. At the time i believed he had no interest being outside running these thickets and wanted to be the couch potato he is but boy was i wrong. I found Dave on google after days of searching for someone i felt comfortable with because this is our first child we’re talking about here. I immediately knew from the first chat all of my dogs and future dogs will definitely be trained here. Through the entire process Dave constantly stayed in touch to give updates sending videos via email. In each video we got you could see how much of a connection Dave made with him. Privet ended up being gun shy at first but loved the birds so Dave offered his gun shy program. In about a week or so Dave called and he was cured just like that! When we went to pick him up i don’t think he wanted to come home the only thing that got him home was getting to go for a ride. Now just over 2 months after training i was watching a video on Facebook of Dave training with privet asleep beside me. He heard Dave perked up and began looking for him. Now idk about you but that’s a great thing to see as a parent. Privet absolutely loved his time with Dave and Lee and can’t wait to go back!! Thank you Dave and Lee for such a great experience, all the knowledge, and giving privet a purpose as a flusher in the field. See y’all soon to drop off our GSP! I have owned a number of hunting and competitive field bred dogs of various breeds and note their kennel facilities and socialization are top notch. Absolutely amazing breeders of German Shorthaired Pointers. We got our first puppy (Ellie) from them in Dec 2016 and she has been such an amazing dog. She's so intelligent and playful, so much so that we wanted to get another puppy for her to play with (very high energy). So we went back to Lee and Dave since they are so amazing and were lucky enough to be able to get a sister of Ellie's (same parents, Maxx and Brownie), Sprinkles. As expected Sprinkles is just as amazing as Ellie and in the few short weeks we've had her, Ellie and Sprinkles are now best friends, playing together all the time.If you're looking for a breeder who truly cares about the breed and dogs then go to Walker Farm and Kennel for GSP's. I know other people with GSP's and they're nowhere near as good of dogs as Ellie and Sprinkles (not just saying that because they are mine). I can't comment on how good the dogs are as hunting dogs as we don't hunt ours but as far as intelligence goes they are off the charts.Can't say enough about how wonderful Lee and Dave are, so if you're interested in GSP's pick them.

Excellent experience here. We acquired a pup from the Aggie x Cocoa Brown litter this past spring and she is growing into a great Birddog. Lots of natural talent bred into these dogs. Highly recommend.

I called about a puppy I purchased from another breeder and all this gentleman did was tell me how I wasn’t ready for a dog like this and to contact the breeder and take her back . First off he knew nothing about me or my background with other breeds I have raised and trained . But we all have to start somewhere and it will not be with this outfit . I will be taking her to another trainer and if your looking and you end up here unless you have had a GSP before I would keep looking .
