Great experience from first call to Brianna who got us worked in the same day, to Savannah who provided great service when we got there and finally Dr. Hadaway who was very thorough, considered my pup's existing conditions and suggested a treatment that made great sense! Couldn't have asked for a better experience! And the prices were certainly reasonable!

Today was our first visit to Chestnut Mountain Animal Hospital and it was absolutely wonderful. From scheduling the appointment over the phone to check in to the examination we were treated so kindly. This is the first vet we have gone to where the doctor has actually came and spoke with me face to face and thoroughly explained the course of action and reasoning behind it.Dr. Hadaway was an absolute pleasure. She explained everything to a T, answered all my questions thoroughly, and truly listened to my concerns about my pup and addressed them. Most vets will simply brush off your concerns, overcharge, and beat around the bush. None of this occurs at Chestnut Mountain. The vet tech and doctor were extremely kind, supportive, and straight forward. There was no beating around the bush. They worked with me on the cost of our visit and medication prescriptions. Very affordable care!! It is something so appreciated in difficult financial times. They never once made me feel bad or not worthy as a fur mama as I could not afford all the recommended treatment for my pup. Instead they gave us different options and adjusted the price every way that they could. That meant the world to me.They were so sweet and patient with my anxious girl. It’s not the easiest task to work with an anxious pup but they did a terrific job. I couldn’t be happier with how they treated her.Wonderful doctor, terrific vet tech, and friendly receptionists.Thank you Chestnut Mountain for taking care of us. We will most definitely continue care with this lovely establishment.

These folks at Chestnut Mountain are genuine with the care of my 16 year old cat Shaman. Allison is his groomer and she is so caring with him it blows my mind. And his Vet is straight forward with explaining everything is words we can understand lol. I would highly recommend Chestnut Mountain for all of your pet needs. I Love these people!!!

I love the staff at Chestnut Mountain Animal Hospital and have been a client for 6 amazing years! The staff are always professional and yet we feel like family because staff are intentional in getting to know each pet and owner on a personal level. Every time we "visit" we feel as if we are their most important and most loved client and my pup loves going to see her "friends." When my dog had more serious health issues they were quick to refer me to a higher level facility and continued to phone and email me throughout the illness and were diligent in coordinating care with the higher level clinic veterinarians. I'm so thankful for the care and concern and love the staff at Chestnut Mountain Animal Hospital extends to their clients!

My pet injured her eye so I took her to Chestnut Mountain Animal Hospital. Big mistake! These people are only out for money, they don't care about your pet. I'm on Social Security and get one check a month the bill was so high I'm now with money to take care of my baby's eye.i had only had 25 dollars until next month and they took it and wouldn't give me the medicine for her eye now she may lose the eye because these people only want money beware if you are are low income. I wish I could give no stars.

I fall into the category of will never go back.In the past I have taken my dogs to this clinic and it was an Ok visit. A few weeks ago my dog had a hard knot near her lip which concerned me. Dr took him out of room to exam which I didn't like. Told me knot may be an infection so he would give me antibiotics just in case. He said he needed a complete blood profile and I left after paying 262.00 for that small hard knot. Today I show paperwork from another vet on a new puppy I had just acquired. Paperwork shows no heartworm found during yearly exam in January 2023and I just wanted to buy flea medsbut no I had to schedule exam first. I declined and will never go back. They are all about the money.Response to clinic response:Bravecto lasts for 3 months so if someone wants a refill they have to have another CURRENT exam??????? So that would be more money......YEA. I presented you with an exam dated January 8, 2023 showing heartworm negative. But not to worry......went to another vet and was given the Bravecto

Newish to the area and called them on the spur seeking help for my dog with a big tick deep in her skin. I called multiple places in town all of which couldn’t get me in FOR WEEKS, telling me they were all booked. I called here at 1:45pm and had an appt 45min later at 2:30pm. The staff is truly amazing and so pleasant to be around. The facility is beautiful as well! Will definitely be back with our other pets!

I moved to the Gainesville area less than a year ago and this office was less than 20 minutes away. I've been to 4 different Vet offices since I've been here and this is definitely my pick. My little baby hurt his paw and I wanted to have it looked at asap before it would get worse. Chestnut Mountain was able to get us in right away, the paperwork was simple, and the staff was willing to have his shot records transferred over, for me, since I forgot them. The office is spacious, modern, and clean. A staff member greeted me at the door and took us back almost immediately. The doctor was kinda young, but I was so impressed with his professionalism, knowledge, and the undivided attention he gave me while he explained my little guys condition and I asked him many questions. He gave me options for treatment and saved me a lot of money by skipping the x-ray and just doing a physical exam. So, needless to say, this is my forever vet. I highly recommend them.

This is for the front desk person. She was not friendly. I called at 8:24 am and was told they don’t open until 8:30 am she did go ahead and make me an appointment. But wanted a $49 deposit over the phone before I could make the appointment. This was the first appointment before I had even step foot in the door. Before I had even filled out any paperwork. This maybe policy for them but my policy is I don’t give out my bank info to someone before stepping food into their business

I had to have one of my sweet dogs put down and the whole staff was so kind and compassionate. It was real peaceful and they treated him with such dignity. Highly recommend and we will definitely go back with our other two.

We have been taking our 2 dogs and 1 cat, soon to be 2 cats to Chestnut Mountain Animal Hospital for close to 5 years. The service has been great and they always try and find ways to make the bill less painful. They have always been great to our animals and care about what they do. Technician Tammy and Dr. Haynes were who we saw on our last visit and what a great combo they are. We are moving in the near future but would love to still bring our pets here. Feel confident bringing your pets here.

Don't bother calling if you are wanting to get any sort of an idea of how much they charge for basic services. They simply will not give you any pricing for any vaccines or cost for spay/neuter before you first pay for an exam fee of $49. The only thing they are hoping for is to lock you in to whatever they are wanting to charge you once you are already in their facility to likely force sell services without you first having the chance to do any research. Super shady, stay away. I'd give zero stars if I could.

We had visited Chestnut Mountain Animal Hospital in 2017 when we first moved to Flowery Branch and didn’t have a great experience. On the recommendation of some neighbors we gave them another chance and are glad we did and had a great experience. Our Vet Tech Taylor was really patient and listened to our concerns and the Vet Dr. Fortenberry was incredible as well. We will definitely be going back and have found our new Vet home for our 4 legged family members!

I took our puppy here for a skin legion and the experience was great. Dr. DeLong was professional, knowledgeable and wasn't pushy at all concerning the possible treatments for our issue, or all the possible unrelated preventatives for the future. He gave me all the options and let me make an informed decision, which I greatly respect. Pricing was upfront and I felt they tried to keep it to a minimum. I will definitely call on them again when needed.

The staff at CMAH are super! They truly get to know you and your pet. We took one of our cats in and they checked him out and did not try to push every pricy thing on us at once which was nice for our wallet. They were thorough and seemed to really want to help our old man cat feel better.

The staff and doctors were so caring when we had to make the difficult decision to put our 12 year old cat to sleep. They gave us all of our treatment options, were up front about the costs, gave us a realistic prognosis, gave us as much time as we needed to make decisions and offered us support afterward. They even sent us a condolence card with handwritten notes inside from all of the staff. The love and care they provide to us and our pets are always top notch.

Good quality vet. Dr. Haynes and Tammy are very professional and took time to make sure I understood pros and cons of different medications for my dog, without being condescending and without pushing me to make a decision quickly. I felt informed and involved in my pet's treatment, and not simply given a script about what I should do without giving a reason.I also know Major Tom makes it extremely difficult to trim his nails, and I can't say enough how much I appreciate the CMAH staff for taking care of him even when he turns into a bat out of hell. Great service. They took good care of getting Katy set up as a regular patient. So far I'm pleased.UPDATE: 7/20 Terrible experience. Will not be bringing Katy back. Katy is a very docile dog and not aggressive. My husband took her to get her nails trimmed and the staff demanded she be muzzled because Katy sniffed them. She did not growl, bark, or demonstrate aggressive behavior. My dog was was traumatized the rest of the day. I am so tired of vet offices that have staff that are scared of animals for no reason. I’m also still waiting to get an email of the records I requested so I can switch to a different vet and a call from the office manager. Very poor service!!!

The Veterinarian actually took time to ask me questions about my dogs situation instead of relaying commuications by staff members. The staff is friendly, and concerned about my pet and are not at all post covid stand offish and cold like some other clinics. This is my Huskies new hospital.

I've been bring my oldest dog Loki here for about 2 years now and just added a puppy Ariya to the family. I've seen both Dr. Haynes and Dr. Andrew. More recently my older dog had to go to the emergency vet overnight and they called to check on him a few times that next day and walked me through suggestions for continued care at home. Since getting our puppy he has been more protective and so when we took him in to get his shots he was more apprehensive. Tammy sat on the floor with him until he calmed down and felt safe around her. They are always amazing up front, especially Susan who adores Loki and he gets so excited to see her when we go. I have also done boarding with them 2 times and even as a nervous dog mama, I knew I was leaving my dog in great hands. The only thing that's ever let me down is there are no longer Saturday hours. As someone who works in healthcare, it is hard for me to get off early to make it to appointments during the week.
