The location was beautiful. Sites were far enough apart that you didn't feel like you were on top of one another. It was clean with a fire pit, picnic table, water, and 30 amp service (no sewer hook-up), but there was a dump station as you left the park. They also had, in my section, a laundry facility and bathrooms. The staff at the office were very helpful with all our questions. There also were attractions close by (hour or less) to visit. I definitely would recommend staying here.

Indian Springs State Park is an awesome location for weddings! I personally got married here and had the opportunity to photograph this special day. The beautiful outdoors as a backdrop to a ceremony creates the perfect view while saying 'I do'. The versatility of having the indoor reception steps away creates a quick transition from the wedding ceremony. The indoor option is also great for potential rain out for outdoor wedding plans. Overall, the state park is beautiful and provides an amazing time for all.

Lovely campground! Sites are a good size and very level. Bathrooms are clean, nice showers. There is an old cemetery on the grounds, as well as a playground and miniature golf course. There is a spring house for you to collect some of the healing waters…

I traveled onsite for a weekend solo camping trip. I had a really good time. The site was clean, and well kept. The sites were a little close to one another, but my site (52) seemed to be better suited for someone with an RV rather than a tent. The staff at the visitor center were also very nice, and the nature trail was fun, all be it short. All in all I had a pleasant experience and will come back, although will be doing more research before selecting a site.Restrooms: Restrooms were clean and the shower was in good working order.

This is Georgia's oldest state park. With that being said, it may explain why the sites are somewhat close together. We found that the road going to the campground and the camp sites was very narrow and I think it could get a little close if you happen to have somebody coming from the other direction. The historic house on the property, Idlewilde, is absolutely gorgeous!

Very nice. Very relaxing. Nice folks running the park. The only not so good thing is the bathrooms. While they were mostly clean they are very outdated and need to have a good upgrade. The old cemetery was a plus for us. I love old cemeteries. This one had some of the oldest graves we've ever seen.

Our first stop of our RV adventure is Indian Springs State Park in Georgia. Our campsite is surrounded by trees showing their last fall colors before winter. Our site is perfectly level for our 20-foot Travel Trailer, but I noticed the larger rigs have many leveling blocks. There is plenty of space between sites, and I love that each site has a picnic table, fire pit, and metal lantern pole partially enclosed in a split log fence. Hiking is our thing, and the 6.5-mile out-and-back trail that skirts the lake is beautiful. Being the oldest state park in Georgia, there are many old homes to explore and a museum. You can also partake of the water from Indian Springs, which is said to have healing powers.Dog-friendliness: We have our two dogs with us, and as long as they are on a leash, we can take them to most places in the park.Picnic area: While we have a picnic table at our campsite, we noticed several pavilions and picnic tables in the park.

Great experience all around. Cottage was top notch, our group had big dinners there each night. Park is well maintained with many hiking trails. Nearby animal refuge is cool, and they have another series of hiking trails there. Lake has more options for fun and activities. Lot of local history going back to the 1800s. We will return in the spring.

It's been years since we have been here. We were so happy to see water flowing over the rocks. Indian Springs is a great place to go camping. They have over 350 camping sites. There is a nice lake that is 105 acres in size. You can rent canoes, kayaks, and pontoon boats. You can also swim or fish in the lake. There are plenty of places to hike there as well. There is also an 18-hole miniature golf course there that they charge to use.

I love this place. I took my dogs there for a second time and they didn't want to leave! Such a beautiful place to hike and truly a hidden Georgia gem.

This is a nice state park. Plenty to do and lots of space. The water was accessible for us to wade into, which was great but we spotted what appeared to be a small copperhead, so be cautious. The playgrounds, miniature golf, and exercise equipment are maintained. The visitors center is full of interesting things. We had a fun summer morning here.

The Campground is beautiful! Lake (brown water?) Wooded. RV lots were pretty level & graveled. Nice adjoining picnic table area with lantern poll & fire pit. Wide, easy back-in spots. The bathroom was clean and adequate. The Buddy Site (#44-46) was awesome for our group gatherings and evening campfire. Very well maintained park with helpful park Hosts. You can find a lot of history within short driving or bicycling distance; Jackson is just a short drive for gas & groceries. Leashed dogs are welcome, although there is no dog park. Just a wonderful park in an awesome location!

Great experience. Got there around 8:00 in the morning on a Wednesday a few weeks ago. I went down to see the spring house and maybe try the water. There was a line of people filling up water jugs. There was a sign saying only two gallons per person, but I guess this is discarded. I waited patiently with a water bottle, and when I finally was next to fill up my bottle, a lady ran down the stairs with a handful of bottles and shoved me out of the way. She said, “we ain’t having no crackers here,” to me, and cut in front to begin filling up. I didn’t feel like dealing with her, so I left and explored the park. It is very well kept up! Everything seemed clean and well maintained.

The tiny town surrounding the state park is much more attractive than the park itself to me. However, there is a lot a very beautiful charm in a very small area. The home that services the visitor center was staffed by a very pleasant young lady who helped us with all of our questions. We were very sad to learn. There’s only one main trail in the entire park that does not allow dogs. The namesake to this park is a natural spring that flows next to the river, while it is absolutely beautiful, well-maintained, and perfectly designed it does have a whole bunch of people standing around filling up water jugs almost every hour of the day from what we hear. The water has an intense, sulfur, taste, and smell. It was unique. I’ll give it that.

We hiked this trail on 1/1/2023. We really enjoyed this trail! It was well kept and as pups, it was easy on our paws! There are many bikers who go to this location though, so be aware! As pups, this was a little scary! There are also a couple of bridges, and it was a little wet today. This made the bridges quite slick and Mom slipped twice! Mom and Dad really enjoyed this trail though and we will definitely be returning at some point!Dog-friendliness: @patoandjunothepuppers Approved

Love coming to Indian Springs. My Uncle would bring my brother and I there when we were younger. My daughter had her high school graduation pics taken there and also her graduation party there. Just recently went to a party there and as always it was beautiful and clean. I love going here. We were over by the waterfall at pavilion 3 I do believe. Absolutely gorgeous!

The natural features of this park in my opinion are the epitome of everything beautiful in Georgia. The natural sulfur springs have been believed by native Americans to have miraculous healing powers. For centuries they traveled hundreds of miles to this location for the benefits this spring possesses. It's believed that drinking this water cures many assignments from diabetes to cancer. It is wonderful for any sort of skin issues and has anti bacterial and anti fungal properties. That's the good... Now for the bad...Upon our last trip to the park the slide on our camper busted... Which meant my husband had to crawl up under and hand crank it closed. It happened to be raining on check out day.Check out time if I'm not mistaken was noon... My husband had been underneath on the wet ground in 40° weather for hours trying to get this thing closed. At exactly noon DNR officers pulled up came up and said if we weren't out by 12:30 they would issue us a citation and that we could be charged with theft of services. They stood there along with Park management and treated us like criminals.Prior to this incident this was my favorite state park..I had fond childhood memories here with my Grandparents... But much like everything else has become in our nation they were more concerned with dominance and a dollar bill than anything else.Left me really sad that this one incidence tainted all my beautiful childhood memories of what at one time to me was a magical place.I'll still visit the park occasionally but I'll never camp here again because of the cold demeaning management and how they humiliated us.Very sad that people have no empathy for others anymore...Americans used to want to help one another because we knew that we were all stronger together. Now people have gotten so selfish they'll stand by and kick you while you're down... Very sad indeed.

We loved the large paved sites at this campground! Make sure you shut your basement doors. We had a squirrel sneak in and steal a jar of peanutbutter! We loved the heated bathroom and hot showers.

Enjoyed a couple of hours walking on the rocks and soaking up the son. Nice place to visit. A lot of history here. And the well was beautiful but I don't know how people drink it.

Great camping location. Clean and quiet. Lots to do inside the park as well as other parks nearby, there's mini-golf and some trails, as well as playgrounds everywhere it seemed. Of course there's the spring to collect water and the stream up front that's great for photos and splashing around. If your camping, it's quite a ways back from the main road to the camping spots. Our only complaints would be the roads within the camping area are narrow and could use some upkeep, and the bathrooms could use some updating. We loved our site and are planning to return.

Was looking for hiking trails that were scenic while being child friendly. This place was definitely it. The walk was beautiful and when done we were able to sit down for a picnic then visit the spring. Definitely a place where you can bring the family for a half of day without spending a bunch of money.

This is the oldest State Park in the nation. It's sentimental to me because my grandparents brought me here several times as a child. There are no roller coasters, or fancy restaurants. There's no night club. It's not a 5 star resort. There's no swimming pool or beach. There are no taxis or Uber. But... There's also no crowd. No loud obnoxious noise or music. There's no beauty salon or nail shops. There's just nature. There's wildlife including deer, armadillos, opossums, coyotes, and PLENTY of snakes so if you don't like snakes... This probably isn't the best choice for you. It's a natural wooded park. It's got no Wi-Fi, no daily planned activities. No bikes or boats to rent.But... All of the above is why i love it. It's a perfect escape for respectful considerate nature lovers. The patrons of this park love it and are usually lifelong patrons. We're very concerned with keeping it free of litter, free of noise pollution and free of crime.A proactive community if you will of return visitors.I beg 2 things of you if you visit my special place...Be considerate of others don't let your children run wild, don't throw trash in the ground and if you see something do like the rest of us and please pick it up even if it isn't yours. To me... This is what my heaven looks like. Please treat my special place as if it's extra special to you as well.Playground: They have a couple playgrounds but I've honestly only seen a few kids a couple times... This is generally a spot for folks who are older retired and young active outdoorsy types...Restrooms: There are restrooms located just inside the entrance for the general public to use which are usually very clean.Dog-friendliness: Well behaved pets on leashes are always welcome as long as their humans are always well behaved as well and clean up behind them.Picnic area: There's multiple picnic tables open for the public to use just inside the main entrance and to the right.

I normally go 2x per months for the spring water and to enjoy the sounds of the beautiful water. I save several jugs to use to fill it. There’s a $5 donation to get in for parking. I’ve seen weddings, photo shots and all around family fun. Towards the back of the park there’s a camp ground community. I would recommend the outdoor fun state park.
