Our beardie was attacked by our cat... They were so sweet and caring there. Offered us a treatment plan that we could work with and that we were satisfied with. Every single person there was so kind to us and made us feel very welcomed with any questions we may have. They even called us the next day to check on him!! I would refer anyone with reptile or bird issues to this place!!!

I could write an incredibly long and detailed review of all of the incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and caring things that the entire staff at For Pet’s Sake have done for my fur babies and myself, but the most effective might thing to say might be this:If you want to know that your furred, scaled & feathered kids are in good hands, then take them to For Pet’s Sake. Their vets are not only well educated and caring, they are problems solvers who enjoy reading research, listen to pet parent concerns and data and they want the best for your little ones as much as you do.Their front office staff is also incredibly adept at communication, scheduling, and managing of emotional pet parents all at the same time.I don’t know how the staff and doctors at For Pets Sake do it all, but I’m grateful that they do.

This is a very special place- for very special animals. I had no idea that it existed until I stepped in and met the team. Katie, the Practice manager, runs a tight ship, but is very compassionate and truly and deeply interested to do the right thing. Everybody was so friendly, welcoming, and kind.

Dr. Hill was great with our cockatiel. She was able to figure out the cause of her issues (previous vet was not) and was very thorough and up-front about tests, treatments, and their costs.

After 4 recommendations from other vets, we decided to go to For Pets Sake. The atmosphere of the waiting room was friendly and comfortable. The staff were top notch, over and beyond, helpful. We went in as an Emergency case and left feeling so much better about our little potato...she was handled with so much care and compassion, as if she belonged to the staff and not us. We were made to feel as if we were family and I now feel confident that I have found a group to take my other exotic babies to in the future. Even if I do hate driving to Decatur. Thank you for taking such good care of our little diva guinea pig.

I brought my bearded dragon, Salsa, here for a wellness checkup. I’d been having such difficulties finding good reptile veterinarians around, and I was hopeful of the good reviews I saw here. Needless to say, the visit went fantastic! You can tell the folks here have a true passion for exotic animals, and are very knowledgeable and capable of answering questions to help put their client’s fears to rest (especially helpful for a first-time dragon owner like me).I highly recommend For Pet’s Sake for all exotic animal keepers. I plan to schedule a visit here for my yellow-belly slider sometime soon, as this is definetly gonna be vet of choice for my reptiles going forward. :)

I've been going here for a few years now for my bearded dragons. The staff is awesome, friendly, informational and caring to all the animals. I love them and will continue to return for all of my pets needs.

Love that they are an exotic-only vet! Needed an appointment for my chinchilla and they were booked for a while but said to call in each day at 9am to see if they have any urgent care drop-off appointments available. We got one the first Monday we tried. The staff is all incredibly nice and the space is very cute and clean. The doc called me himself and gave me a detailed rundown of treatment and things to keep a look out for moving forward. I’ve got no qualms driving from across Atlanta again for any needs in the future. This place is great!

I have been to a half dozen vets that treats exotic animals such as Parrots and Chinchillas, and they are definitely the best Vets when it comes to knowledge, care, and a very organized receptionist and records department. They will call you and remind you that your checkup is coming up and the Vet will call you a few days later asking how your pet is doing. Very thoughtful and caring.

Bunny neuter. The doctor did everything in a day, the exam and the surgery. We picked him up the next day. The bunny felt great, rested for one day. The bunny didn't have any problems or complications, thank you very much. A wonderful place!!

I want to preface this review by saying I did really enjoy taking my bird here as I felt confident she was safe and I personally enjoyed the atmosphere however recently I took her in for a nail trim (I go about every 3-4 months for this) and at first it was the same the manager (I presume she is always there with orangeish hair and seems to be in charge) was very sweet if not a little overwhelmed and took her in my bird came back bleeding about 5 minutes later this in itself was not the worst thing ever as i know if the quick is cut they bleed and it’s not hard to stop however her quick is rather easy to see has her nails are clear but everyone makes mistakes they took her back stopped her bleeding and even cleaned her perch in her carrier which was very kind however one of her nails was cut in half not fully trimmed but cut in half vertically so she was standing awkwardly and it was longer then all her other nails so I was worried it was going to get caught on something, I asked if they could fix that and the lady helping me was clearly annoyed by the ask and took her back a 3rd time. This was surely traumatizing to some degree for my bird and I was astonished they would even bring her back with a nail like that. She was brought back and I was told they “hand filed her nails to make them look pretty for me” and charged me the 20 dollars. I do really like the vet and I’m still unsure if I will return or not but this was frankly gross negligence and was very disappointing as I had so much respect for this business

I took my bearded dragon here because she was acting lethargic and had trouble eating veggies, so I thought I might get some help with that. I paid 500 dollars for some blood tests etc and the doctor (Dr. Burchfield) said she had eggs without doing any ultrasounds or X-rays. She said if she doesn't have the eggs within the next week or two that she should have a surgery to remove them. The surgery was 1500 after the 500 I paid for the visit and tests. The vet tech recommended making a dig box. After a week nothing happened and I also could not feel for eggs, so I took her to another vet to get an X-ray. The doctor said she had No eggs. My bearded dragon is currently brumating and never had eggs to begin with, but I was about to pay almost 2000 to completely cut open her whole belly and also risk infection and bad recovery- possibly have a dead dragon in surgery. I have been here multiple times and they were knowledgeable and helpful. However, it seems they make bad decisions sometimes for money every now and then. That is just a warning for current and future patients, but I won't be going back.

We have 3 wonderful parrots and it is near impossible to find a veterinarian that treats these animals. Most small animal vets say no to birds or have limited experience (understandable). We drive 3 hours round trip to take them to “For Pet’s Sake”. Our experience is that they can always fit animals in for emergency visits. We recently lost one of our birds to cancer and they squeezed her in several times during the last few weeks. They were fantastic when the time was to let her go. Can’t recommend enough.

We had such a positive experience with Dr. Hill. She took care of our 28yo Cockatoo Coco. Dr. Hill was very patient and explained everything in detail. Dr. Hill is now our official vet for Coco!

Looks a lot better than the oitdated google maps photo. The inside looks even better and they made sure I understood what was happening with my bearded dragon. They also made sure all my questions were answered and that nothing was wrong with my beardie.

This was my pet rabbit first vet visit I was nervous since I wouldn't be able to walk in but the staff was really nice. Their new place looks great, the doctor was really nice and communicated well with me. I recommend this place for rabbit owners.

Been taking my bunny boy here for a little over a year! Had a bad experience at a different exotic vet and was discouraged, but For Pet’s Sake is great! Super knowledgeable and thoughtful, you can tell they care about the animals they treat. Always gives lots of information and quick service and response

My parrots nail was bleeding and I called many vet hospitals and they all said they didn’t treat parrots or that we had to make a appointment. I found this place and they immediately said I could come in and they were very nice and caring for my bird.

Sad day yesterday. I’m a falconer and I had to put down my female Harris’s Hawk, Reba, after an unknown accident caused a compound fracture in her left leg.Even though I knew the chances of saving the leg were slim, I jumped to action to find a vet that could possibly help me in my emergency. Im writing this post so others that might find themselves in a similar situation don’t experience what I did.I called UGA to get a list of possible vets that could help and after calling through a few and also talking to my falconry sponsor, who is a raptor rehabber, For Pets Sake was on the short list. My sponsor had just taken a hawk from them 6 months ago that they had pinned a broken leg for so this confirmed not only were they capable of the procedure but had recently performed it. It was 1 1/2 hrs from me but I headed that way and called multiple times before finally getting someone. She was seemed annoyed by my situation from the start. I can only assume Friday afternoon patient intake was not on the top of her list of things she wanted to do. First I was told “we don’t take hawks”. Not true- see above. Then I was told “well we’ll only take them if a rehabber refers the animal.” My sponsor called in short order to overcome that objection. “Well we can’t see predators, they make our other patients nervous” I ask if they have seen snakes or monitor lizards. They do. Also do they keep all patients in one giant box together?!? 🤡 Then it was “well avian flu.” Y’all see parrots? Yep. Then “well the Dr. will have to approve it.” Ok then im still coming that way because Dr Hill is the one that just pinned a hawks leg before and that’s who’s there today. “Well, we’re very busy so she’ll just have to call when she gets free.” Ok, this is an emergency im still coming. “Ughhh”. Click. I get there and there is an EMPTY office with 4-5 techs sitting behind a counter. Jaws drop as I walk in with my swaddled towel roll with tail feathers sticking out of the end. Gasp “Is that a hawk?!” Yes, yes it is, can I talk to the Dr. “No, she said no.” I doubt it.30 min up the road is All Species 24 Veterinary Clinic. They had the opposite reaction to my situation and had me back with a Dr ASAP. The leg was too far gone but if you’re in striking distance of Duluth and have an emergency or value compassion and customer service head their way.

I was scrambling to find a vet that would see my very sick rabbit on short notice. They were able to get her in the same day that I called. Unfortunately, it ended up being necessary to put her to sleep. Dr. Burchfield was so, so nice and explained every step of the process before she did anything. She gave us time in between each step to spend with my rabbit and mentally prepare for what was about to happen. She made this awful situation as easy as it could have been. She is extremely compassionate and a wonderful vet.

We got to meet Dr. Hutcheson for first time today. I was so blessed to have met him today. He blessed me today with his service. I have been bringing CoCo to this vet since 2020. Everyone who works at the vet is friendly. Dr. Burchfield saved Coco life and I am forever thankful!Coco visited the vet today to get her stitches removed from her neck. Dr. Hutcheson was very knowledgeable and patient with Coco. I love For Pet’s Sake!

All other places told me they aren't taking any new patients. For Pet's Sake never turned me down. Because it's far from my house, I called around, but now I know to only go to them. They've been nothing but great to us (my mom and I) and our babies (budgie and beardie). Will always go to them from now on :)

For Pet's Sake is a great place to take your pet bird! Ever since I adopted my little tiel Sesame they've given me good advice and taken good care of him. Sesame is rehomed and has a few health issues and was not in the best shape after his rehoming and they were very non-judgmental and kind and gentle with him. When he had a medical emergency and was suddenly very weak they came outside immediately and got him from the car and took him to the incubator. He was very fragile when he arrived and left in much better health and he hasn't had any issues at all since they recommend we feed him nutriberries and gave him medications. They were very nice and answered my phone calls and gave me updates while he was incubated there. Having gone to other exotic vets in Atlanta, I have to say this place is the best BY FAR. Definitely go here! They know their stuff and they are very kind and gentle and care about the animals.
