Great location for us to stop on the way to Tampa Florida. There are two restaurants within walking distance - a Mexican and a Seafood. The lobby is very quaint and has all the necessities that you would need for a night stay - coffee, hot tea, water, kitchen, ice etc.Our room was very nice - although I did book and pay for room number one and I ended up with room number 4 - not sure what happened there…Also the walls are VERY thin. Like you can literally hear people’s conversations. All in all for just staying one night it was perfect! Very clean!Walkability: Easy walk to restaurants

I love Darien and I stop whenever I'm headed to Florida for some R & R. Darien Dockside Inn was the perfect location, near the water and Skipper's Fish Camp. I took the end King Suite to avoid any noise from the neighbors. Definitely was a good decision. Check in super easy, never saw a soul. Room was immaculate with a sweet view of the bridge and the Darien River. Had all I needed for a relaxing evening under the full moon. King size bed was luxurious and comfy firm mattress. I hate to even mention the red glowing neon EXIT sign in the room, but I'm a person who needs the room to be dark and suffice it to say the red glow kept me awake most of the night. Unfortunately there was no way to block this light and I just had to endure. Told the host, Carrie and she said it's fire code, so I get it. So truthfully that was the only downside to the room and unfortunately I value my sleep after being on the road for 8 hours, so the red neon exit sign is a deal breaker.Rooms: King size suite is spacious enough for 4.Nearby activities: Walk to Waterside Park.Safety: Felt safe as a single woman.Walkability: Cute neighborhood to bike or walk.Food & drinks: Skippers Oyster Bar has a lively outdoor deck.

This is THE BEST Hotel I have stayed in.Carrie Rath, the owner, has her special touch on everything. The little extras are very nice.Located right in the center of everything. This property is perfect for families, business, friends getaways.I would book early because there is only 6 rooms. This is the perfect Old School Low country experience. There is a wine room, you do not want to miss.Sundays is a couple that sings right out front of it.

We stayed here on our way to Florida and loved it so much that we stayed again on our way back from Florida. The service is friendly, the rooms are clean and they give you plenty of clean, white fluffy towels. The beds are comfortable and it’s quiet. This will be our go to hotel whenever we are passing through!

Very nice, very interesting hotel. I really liked it. Great location. The room is modern. Very comfortable bed with a Big bathroom.Out front is a big deck with chairs and a view. There are several restaurants less than a block away. There are many state parks, historical sites and shops near by.I consider this a find. An oasis from the big known tourist destinations.I would call it a destination hotel. I can't give it a romantic destination. They warm you about this. The walls are a bit thin when it come to noise.

The rooms are comfortable and super clean. The sheets are soft, the towels bright white and absorbent. The keyless entry system is wonderful. Two simple codes and you're IN. No wondering where your key is now. Darien is small, so the location is very convenient. Easy walk to most bars, restaurants, historic sites, etc. Nice people and vacation pace. Can recommend it with no reservations. Oh, it's easy to reserve a room, too. I called and the owner picked up!

This is an absolute little gem. We are on our 20th wedding anniversary trip and we're supposed too be going to Sapelo Island, our date got passed back because of the storm so was on the hunt for a place to stay. I'm so happy we held out until we got to Darien (most regular hotels were booked and I'm thankful for that). The room is extremely clean, prefect for a couple. We will absolutely be back... and hey, if the power doesn't come back on on the island then we will be perfectly fine staying here. Thank you Dockside Inn. It's perfect!!Rooms: Clean, comfy, beautiful!!

This was a lovely, well decorated, clean place to stay. I would say it's a cross between a hotel and an Airbnb. The raised deck out your back door has nice rocking chairs, as well as chairs and a table, which we used for a couple of meals and a board game. The breakfast vouchers were a bonus and a reason to explore another local business. The table in the lobby was helpful as my husband was able to work remotely for a couple of hours while I was tidying up for the day. The large ice machine came in handy as well. Carrie and Zach were really easy to communicate and work with. We had the suite, which was nice and roomy. We will definitely go back! (not to mention that it is located right in front of our favorite restaurant, Skippers!)

Reservation process was super easy and owner was very accommodating with a few last-minute requests. Location was great, so quiet and peaceful, walking distance of so many lovely local businesses and attractions. Entire facility was easy to access, clean, pleasant; room was very clean and comfortable. Staff ("Kat") with whom we interacted was very friendly, responsive, helpful. I cannot think of one thing I would change about my stay, and I will be back!! :)

I really enjoyed my stay here. The Inn is VERY clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated, and had all of the amenities you need. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The Inn is located within close proximity to the river, restaurants, local shops, etc. Will certainly stay here again.

This cozy get away is so much better than staying at a chain hotel. It is not that far off of 95, in a cute little historic town. All of the rooms lead out to a shared balcony with rocking chairs and a view of the river. You can walk to several restaurants. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. We loved having the shared kitchen space with coffee, ice,....We will definitely return!!

Great historic tabby warehouse converted into a quaint, self-check-in boutique "waterfront" (Darien River) 7 room hotel in the center of the fishing village town of Darien, Georgia. Near the working "shrump boats" trawlers and really cool commercial fishing industry. Very relaxing, tranquil, historic community. 🤫Shhh don't tell anyone, it will change ALL of the village character.Rooms: Nice clean room with a view, bathrooms were disappointingNearby activities: Plenty to do, in a laid back sorta way, just chillaxin . . .Safety: Feel no concern for my well-being, arrived late, Street side parking, quiet, safe, village atmosphere.Walkability: You should walk anywhere you like and everywhere you can. Restaurants, commercial fishing village, waterfront park, historic homes, shops and boutiques.Noteworthy details: Vanishing fast, getcha some waterfront, village south culture while you can. Total immersion in the culture, be the culture, don't change it . . . 🤔

Loved how they took this old warehouse and made an Inn out of it. Right in the downtown area of Darien. Little shops and restaurants within walking distance. Rooms were clean, self check in was awesome and was only about a 20 minute drive to St Simons east beach access. The back deck faces the river and Skippers Restaurant, has a nice view and lots of historical sites within walking distance. Cannot wait to go back!

So happy that we found this place, and happy to not support all the same budget hotels/motels off the highway. Dockside Inn was the right place, the right price, and so clean and quasi chic... and only thing between us and the water was the Skipper seafood restaurant, which unfortunately we didn't try. Wish we had gotten there earlier, and would have like to have checked out the wine bar down the block. And since breakfast was Sunday morning, we couldn't dine at the nearby coffee/breakfast spot with the voucher. Oh well. Next time we'll go for a few nights at least.

Very thin walls, when neighbors came it was easy to hear their TV and talking through the wall, fortunately they were a quiet after 930.Odd giant red exit sign inside the room maybe it’s code here ?Giant trip hazard in the walkway to thehrough bathroom and entrance.Bed was super soft and comfy!Room was very clean.Nice porch overlooking Skippers restaurant and the water (Skippers was Awesome!Nice coffee setup in the lobby.I would stay here again but recommend you have earplugs Incase your neighbors are louder than mine were.

The Dockside was wonderful, the rooms were spacious, comfortable, and clean. It is in the perfect location to explore the quaint town of Darien on foot. Btw it was great to see just how closely and cooperatively the businesses in Darien work together. Every morning we enjoyed our complimentary breakfast at Zio Carlo, where the staff treated us like regulars! To be honest all of the businesses in town treated us with a graciousness that embody "Southern Hospitality". Darien is great but if you want to explore coastal Ga, it's located super close to St. Simon's and Jekyll Island, and day trip close to Savannah. I would definitely stay there again, Carrie and Zach treated us like family or like they knew us for 30 years!

A great option for a overnight stay. Loved sitting on the deck with views of the river. The common area was lovely with a full kitchen, sitting area and coffee bar. The room was cute, clean and comfortable. Nice quiet area with restaurants within walking distance.

As soon as I walked in the lobby, I became a little concerned. It reeks of a mildew smell... Just stale & unpleasant. The room itself was very dated. Lots of little maintenance items incomplete, such as missing light shades on the ceiling fan.One of the more annoying things I've ever experienced was the red light from the Exit sign.... Inside the room! I've never seen that before & hope to never see it again. So, not a ton of sleep, & then when it became light enough to see, I noticed a huge bug on the ceiling right above the bed. It wasn't a palmetto bug, it looked more like a locust or something. It got me out of bed and out the door faster than multiple coffees.2 stars for being in a good spot in a scenic little town with friendly people. If you really want to stay here, head to the wine & beer bar half a block away. I sat at a back table & saw one of the best sunsets I've ever seen. Wish I could've slept there.

Absolutely first rate boutique hotel! The decor was modern and beautifully done. The beds were comfortable, and the place was clean, clean, clean! Wife had to do some work with an online class she teaches and the WiFi supported that with a super fast connection. We enjoyed the main room to gather with friends who were traveling with us. Wife loved the deck out back. We love to eat at Skipper's Fish Camp, and Dockside Inn is just next door -- a nice plus! Price was right, owner Ken was awesome to work with. Absolutely, we'll be back!

Super comfy bed and Trevor was very helpful in providing us with the info we needed. The room was very clean as well as inside the lobby. We loved eating at Skipper’s Fish House and was provided a complementary breakfast at a little restaurant across the street. It was nice to sit on the balcony and look across the water and bridge. We will definitely be back.

I would highly recommend this place the rooms and the bathroom was very nice and clean and very roomy. The view to the river/marsh was very beautiful. We all had a wonderful stay here and definitely will be making reservations here again. Everyone was so polite here. Also the historic town of Darien was really awesome to learn about, and to be able to go see the smallest church in America was really nice to see. Also the plus side St. Simmons Beach and Jekell island Beach isn't that far away either. Thanks for the wonderful stay and I hope others gets to have as much fun as we did there.

Awesome place! My boyfriend and I spent a weekend at the Dockside Inn while visiting Jekyll Island/ St. Simons Island a few weeks ago. Staff was friendly and helpful and made check in a breeze. Our room was very spacious, well decorated and full of thoughtful touches and amenities and featured a balcony that looked out to the marina. The hotel itself is right in the middle of historic downtown Darien, there were a few cute restaurants and shops around and a bunch of historical sites within a short drives distance. We will definitely be staying here again!

If you are headed either north or south on I-95 and are looking for a delightful place to stay away from the highway box hotels, this side trip will only add 12 minutes total to your travel time (check it out on your GPS). This Boutique Inn seems like the best parts of a hotel and a B&B merged. Don't let the warehouse facade dissuade you. The room are simple, clean and comfortable. They open up onto a rear deck that overlooks the Darien Creek and the delightful Skipper Fish Camp restaurant and bar. Across the street is a Mexican restaurant. A fine wine store is next door. In the morning grab some gourmet coffee and a breakfast sandwich at Zio Carlo compliments of the Inn! The town of Darien is is a delightful town of Spanish moss draped live oaks and a great history.
