Stayed here one night in early April that I had booked and paid in advance. Room was fine, beds were ok and bedding seemed clean, but the bathroom was run down and dirty and the fan was broken. Breakfast was a pretty minimal version of the usual hotel fare. They had a nice dispenser of lemon water near the front desk.Checking my statement I saw I was additionally charged $150 upon checkout. I called the hotel to inquire and was told I was charged for bringing my dog, which I had thought I listed on the online registration form. Apparently I did not, and was charged triple the usual fee because I made a mistake (not that hard to do when booking many hotels for a multi-day trip.) The woman who answered the phone said "you were asked at check in whether you had a dog." I absolutely was not. I gave my name, the clerk said "I see you've paid," and I asked where to park. The woman I spoke with said, "no, I'm sure he asked you how many were in your party, how many children, and whether you have pets" because they're required to by law for fire code. I was not asked those questions. She accused me of changing my story when I did agree with her that "yes, in addition to giving me my keys he actually did tell me where the elevator was."The dog was "discovered" (not that I was hiding him) on their security cameras, so if you stay at this hotel know that they monitor them closely. I would have been fine paying the pet fee -- $50 -- but they are trying to charge me triple because I mistakenly did not mention ahead of time.

This place is firing on all cylinders. You can't beat it at this price point. Hot breakfast was plenty adequate and was kept up well. Everything is neat and organized and you sense that management is good here. Updated decor in an older building and very clean room. Woman at the front desk was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back here again.

Needed a room and it was late.The night staff was wonderful. The room and bed were clean and comfortable.Breakfast was simple but tasty and filling and the morning staff was nice and checkout was a breeze.Showerhead need to be de-scaled so it functions at full power but that's it.Would definitely stay again if I have the need.

The hotel appeared understaffed, and one of them was inexperienced checking in guests.Upstairs room had a curtain that wouldn't close the last three feet, letting in the glare of a nearby streetlamp.Bathroom lights were blindingly bright.Conclusion: I won't stay there again.Walkability: Inconvenient parking, low walkability.

We were charged $10 more than the price total in our confirmation email which I had displayed on my phone. The desk attendant stated she could not adjust the cost without the manager, Mr. K. Patel, approving the change. She called him and he reportedly said the charge cannot be changed to coincide with the confirmation. I have never experienced this type of response in any other hotel. If there has been a discrepancy in the charges the hotel desk clerk immediately makes the correction. Mr. Patel is off site and has not followed up with a requested phone call to us. He is supposedly unavailable at the hotel until after our check out in 2 days. We have been Choice Privilege members for over 25 years and we cannot recommend this hotel.

We dropped on our way from Florida. Room was super clean, comfortable bed and pillows - property seems recently renovated, plus hot breakfast. We would definitely stay here again. Front desk was very welcoming as bonus. Plenty of parking and places to visit nearby.Rooms: Super Clean and comfortable room. Very nice bed and pillows

The sheets was duty, you could see the foot prints and it has hair all over, the tub was also duty and also had hair all over, and last but not least, the floor was almost impossible to walk on even with your shoes on as it was really sticky….. it’s a shame because it has a greate location. How can you ask 110.00 a night for something like this. I’m from Massachusetts and I’m coming from Florida, I stayed in places way tippier over there and really cleaned.

My recent stay at Comfort Inn Darien Brunswick was a pleasant experience overall. Tushar at front desk was courteous and attentive, ensuring a smooth check-in process. The room was clean, well-maintained, and provided the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The hotel's location is convenient for us to continue with route & also exploring the surrounding areas. I found the overall value for money reasonable and would consider staying here again in the future."

Thank you, dear Theresa for your warm welcome and fir saing your last room for me over the phone. The hour was late and we left a sketchy hotel in the neighbour town as we felt unsafe at the other place this was a Clean room, excellent bed, wonderful helpful staff. Great breakfast. Highly recommend as the price was fair too! We slept very well.

Check in was quick & simple, and the room looked clean except for a couple of light bulbs out - until we went to use the bathroom. There was an obviously hours-old pee stain on the toilet seat - not on the rim, but under the lid on the seat itself where the ladies like to sit. Sticky but not a stain or fresh. Ew! The tub had a hair in it and was obviously not washed well. In the morning when we went to shower, suddenly there was mud in the bathroom. Obviously whoever swept and/or vacuumed did not do a great job. Whoever the housekeeper is, is skimping on the cleaning.Breakfast was great, though! My husband appreciated the waffles, and the lady working it kept checking on everyone, super friendly and helpful.

This place really deserves the name “Comfort Inn”in all terms. We had a really comfortable stay there, the front and employees were very nice. The rooms and everything within were modern, nice and clean. Breakfast was also wonderful with a wide variety of choices. We felt having stayed at a luxury five star hotel. I hereby thank whoever manages this fantastic place 🙏🌷

The hotel overall was adequate. Though it is old, it appears clean and well maintained. Our bed on the other hand, was pitiful. It was inverted to the point the head was a good 6 inches lower than the foot. This made for rough nights sleep. On of the worst I have had in quite a while. The continental breakfast was superb and service at the breakfast exemplary. The staff was overly friendly and very accomodating.

We never made it to an actual room because the receptionist - albeit very nice - tried to charge us $50 for our service dog and asked to see his registration papers. Both very illegal. To the management, I would recommend looking into this behavior. Additionally, we got in at 3am, looking to stay just the one night and the price the receptionist quoted even without the $50 extra animal charge was ridiculous. This is a 2-star roadside hotel - nobody should pay $170 for a couple hours of sleep.

Front desk had no idea how to check us in. But that didn’t bother me.. could have been new.. but the room was disgusting!!!!!!!! I was not expecting 5 star but WOWWalked into the room to be greeted by the smell of mold…. Mold was everywhere beds were absolutely disgusting. also looked like bed bug droppings I did see any bugs but I was not taking that risk..Turned around and walked right out. When I told the lady at the desk her response was as if yea so what…you wanted cleaned?! Never again will I even try to stay at a comfort inn.

It is what it is, is this a five star hotel? no. Did the staff do everything to make our stay comfortable? Yes. MaryAnn went above and beyond to help make sure we had everything we needed.After spending the day driving we needed a place to crash, looking at all the hotel reviews in Darien did not give me much hope or optimism for what we'd find.The rooms were clean if outdated, the beds were comfortable and clean. They had a small fitness center while not the most modern had everything we could have asked for at a reasonable price.Breakfast was lovely and not just cold items. They had sausages, eggs & South West Omelettes, waffle machines, cereal, yogurt, toast, juice, coffee... We left well rested, and well fed.Our bathtub plug didn't work, but otherwise everything was exceptional.

The employees are great especially the sweet lady who runs the dining area. The room was clean, my bed was comfortable. I love a soft bed. The rest of my trip was a comedy of errors. Day one. The door to my room would not close. I called the desk and they said they would send someone to fix it. I waited an hour and a half, no one showed up. I called the front desk again. She said she forgot to call someone. The maintenance man showed up and it took about 20 minutes to fix my door. The next day, I was going to take a shower. No water. No one answered at the front desk, so I went there myself. I was stopped on the first floor. The lobby and part of the first floor was flooded. The manager said a pipe had burst and the water was turned off. It was several hours before the water was turned back on. The next day, I went down to get breakfast. After I was finished I went back to the elevator (there's only one) to go upstairs. The elevator was broken. I reported it. I needed to get upstairs to pack as I was leaving and needed to be on the road by a certain time to get where I was going. I waited a little while, no one had shown up to fix it. So I walked up the stairs and packed my stuff to leave. I called the front desk and they sent someone to get my luggage and carry it down the stairs. I know things happen, I was just amazed that all this happened in 3 days. Overall, I did enjoy my stay. I will go back and try this place again. Hopefully this was all a fluke.

Conveniently right off hwy, next to gas stations, with a lovely breakfast staff that she somehow managed to take the same breakfast items other places serve but made them pleasantly tasty in comparison. Extremely attentive and quick with service needs. The rooms are on the older side but were clean and served the purpose well for our late night family stop without feeling like we left with bug passengers or needed black lights to enter the room.

The front desk person and the breakfast prep person were very friendly and kind. We were disappointed with the hotel kind of half renovated and sloppily. Being pet friendly is good since we have a dog but the carpet in pet accommodating rooms isn’t sanitary. The carpet smelled. I wore a new pair of white slipper socks and they became dirty. I felt the floors weren’t clean but the rest of the room was clean. The $50. Fee for a dog is steep. To pay over $180. I would expect better in the appearance and cleanliness where pets are welcome. It was a quiet room and the bed was comfortable.

Older motel, looks newer / updated outside, inside not so much.Room low country musty (hallways worse). Standard quick breakfast - OK. Actual very quiet for being close to highway.Best part, its right off exit, plenty gas around, few fast food too.Its a convent, good 1/2 way stop kind of place, not one aim for.

The front desk staff was very friendly and nice. We had a late arrival and they were very accommodating after an extremely long drive. The check-in process was quick and efficient. The cleaning staff provided all the needed items and cleaned the rooms decently. The only complaint I have is about the pool. The walls and tiles were coming apart, so the pool had concrete on the floor of the pool. It was also a bit dirty. We took the pool skimmer and removed a lot of bugs and floating debris from the pool before we got in to swim. I gave it three stars instead of five b/c of the pool and the room was not completely cleaned when we checked in, but it was so late we didn't complain about it.
