Cleanest pet store I know with the most friendly and helpful staff. Their love for the fur babies is tangible every time I come. Livy was so sweet helping my son play with a different puppy three times today.

They do an excellent job in caring for their animals, they even keep the spiders like they should the first time I seen a pet store properly keep an Arboreal spider in an Arboreal set up and a terrestrial spiders in a terrestrial set up, even with a buried cork bark hide with some hiding places and they definitely keep cork bark tubes(rounds) and cork bark Flats in stock wished they could bring their staff to cleveland and staff our pet stores. I have to drive to dalton to find any exotic pet supplies. It's a great pet store. I highly recommend them, At least they care

I’m a firm believer in that good customer service will take a business far and bad customer service can eventually destroy a business. That being said, I will tell y’all about my experience with Petland Dalton. After grocery shopping in Kroger, I decided to take my son into Petland to see “kit cats.” After realizing that they didn’t currently have any cats, he wanted to see a bird, so I picked one up on my finger and was showing him. An employee, very abruptly, said “Don’t do that. The birds can fly away and they are very difficult to catch.” I immediately put the bird back. I walked over to the bunnies. I picked one up and sat on the floor with it against my chest to show my son and FaceTime my daughter, as we are actually considering getting one. The same employee came up from behind me and raised her voice (very rudely, might I add) and said “I have already told you multiple times to not hold the animals, put it down now.” Everyone around us, by now, was looking at us. I obviously put it down and said “One, you have said something to me once about holding the bird so it wouldn’t fly away. Two, no need in getting an attitude withme.” She voiced over her radio requesting assistance. I, myself, went to find the manager to inform her of her employee’s behavior. Instead of apologizing, the manager said “we are very short staffed right now.” I explained that being short staffed was not an excuse to speak to a customer in the manner that her employee spoke to me.I understand the need in having a policy that doesn’t allow customers picking up the animals. I’m not upset about that. I’m upset in the way that I was spoken to by an employee, especially in front of 9-10 other people, which caused unnecessary embarrassment. So, be warned! Don’t take your business to Petland in Dalton. They have rude, disrespectful employees and managers who don’t take ownership for their mistakes.

Came in just to see the dogs! Gave no indication I actually wanted to buy anything, but Kim, Hannah, and Livi all spent time letting me play with various puppies, and were VERY customer-friendly! I will return again!

Do not buy from petland. They sell off standard and poorly bred dogs or mutts like Doodles and Frenchie mixes. Mix breeds are not good to buy, you are supporting buying genetic issues, leading to the money to be used to breed more genetic issues. There's a reason a well bred poodle lives longer than your mutt you decided to get. Please get your doodle from a shelter or get your german shepherd from a breeder. If you do buy from petland, be knowledgeable about owning a dog and don't get one as a present for your 2 year old.

All dogs sold at petland come from mills. I worked at petland as a salesman and a kennel tech. ALL DOGS COME FROM MILLS. If you want a certain breed find a breeder and save $4,000. If you just want a dog then go to a rescue.

I just went into this store for the very first time🤬 and I am shocked that they have the animals they are selling in glass boxes with metal hole flooring. All were very small dogs! Their paws can get hurt not to mention they have no padding to lay on!! It’s like prison with metal beds😡😡 one little dog was curled in the tightest ball trying to stay warm! It was shivering so bad and no one cared! I walked straight out after voicing my opinion of how cruel and mean that is. Some were with other dogs to stay warm and had company while others were alone and cold! VERY BAD BUSINESS TO TREAT ANIMALS LIKE THAT PLEASE DONT SHOP THERE!!! Don’t support a business that isn’t there to care for and love these poor animals until they get a forever home!!!

We got our Sullivan and Winston both from Petland Dalton this year. The lost star is just for outrageous prices, but that's company wide and this location has been great to us every visit. Especially in comparison to their sister store in Rome.

Its supposed to be a family friendly and now it's not bc of the new management and they don't even let us hold the dogs and they made the kids cry when they said they couldn't hold them and they walk out of the door if it was me you guys should not go there

I’m not getting into the ethics of a puppy store. But as far as the people who work here, very nice accommodating people. We were on our way from Chattanooga to see a puppy when we got a text from them that there was a wreck near their store and the power was off there. They told us we needed to reschedule. I told them we were 5 mins from being there. They told us to come and let us in with no lights on and let us play with the pup, as well as other pups. All the people were kind and talkative and I had no sense of them being rude or short in any way. They all seemed busy and people were cleaning the cages and feeding the pups and it seemed like they were doing a good job and still had time to talk with us for a long while. The 3 stars are because of the absolutely outrageous prices. For example the Shiba Inu pup we went to look at was over $2400. A malti-poo was $2600. A Great Pyrenees was $2000. Absurd pricing when you can go to a family that specifically breeds these types of puppies for less than half of those prices. I knew of the pricing beforehand. The only reason I went was to see the Shiba because I’d never seen one before. This place is good for stopping in to see little adorable fur balls and getting a good idea of the type of dog you’ll want, then going elsewhere to buy one for way cheaper!

It's to pricey and they are trying to sell those poor puppies too the highest bidder. I was given one price and I overhead them give a lower price for the same dog to another person based on our race. They were one race and I was a different race. My price was 2,000.00higher. shame

I worked in the Rome location in the kennel. It has the same owner as the Dalton location. I would give this establishment a -10000000 if I could. Monty (THE OWNER of both Rome and Dalton locations) asked my coworker to put a sick puppy in the freezer to kill it so we didn’t have to take it to the vet. NO PUPPIES GO TO THE VET! Unless they’re there to get euthanized. You’re probably going to end up buying a sick puppy if you buy one from here. They are ALL sick. Also literal children perform vaccinations.

Not sure what to say about this place. It's a little hole in the wall that wants to be important. I don't agree with buying or selling g dogs in a pet shop specially the prices they want but not alot I can do about that but do nothing. I will never buy a dog from a store but that is just my stance. Anyways... they carry good dog food. VICTOR it's all I feed my dogs. But that being said they are over priced. Like most everything else in the store but we were in town and did t want to waste the gas to save 10 dollars. Time over value I guess you can say. If you have to have something then it's a easy stop. Other then that I wouldn't recommend stopping there if you can help it.

I'm wary of pet stores such as these, since I've always heard their dogs come from puppy mills. So this review does not reflect my position against that, because I don't know how true it is.That being said, I had a great experience! The animals all appeared clean, healthy, and well taken care of. There were plenty of employees, and they were all cheerful, friendly, and helpful. I saw thorough cleaning going on in the back, as I chose a pup to play with, so that impressed me. There is a "sanitize before and after touching any animal" program in place, with conveniently placed hand sanitizer stations throughout the store. Kennels and small animal enclosures were all clean and comfortable looking. Obviously the pets will be MORE comfy once they find their forever homes – but the puppies and kittens seemed happy, and I witnessed the employees giving them lots of attention. They seemed to really enjoy their jobs. It was a nice way to pass an hour or so, and pick up some fancy cookies for my own doggo.

So I had no intentions on another dog I just adopted a blue heeler a year and a half ago, I went to petland to get millet for my bird … saw a beautiful Great Dane puppy, they ask if I wanted to see her and play with her so of course I did. Next thing you know I got financed to get her, the price is crazy I don’t even want to say how much she was. Yea she is akc registered and blah blah but let me tell you over the last two weeks she has been so sick. She had kennel cough so of course my other dog got it, then had diarrhea since I’ve had her like bad bad, come to find out she had a parasite so over the past two weeks I’ve had no sleep (which is not the puppy’s fault I would be doing the same if I was sick) anyways she’s been on 6 medications since I’ve had her, then my blue heeler is on 2 meds now from the kennel cough. It’s just been a nightmare I don’t understand how they can sell sick puppies for the prices that they do! I just want my baby to be ok I feel so bad for her!

Nice little pet store. They have such cute puppies for sale in there but they are also outrageously expensive. My dad had interaction time for a few minutes with a 4 month old puppy and when he asked the price, it was $3,000. Even if you are serious about handing that kind of cash over the same day, they still won't come down much on them. It would have still been well over $2,000 for the puppy that day. You can get the same puppy online for half the price and probably even well less than that. Idk why they sell them for so much, I guess they wait on that certain person to come in that will hand over the $3,000 to take the puppy home the same day. They will get their money regardless of how much they sell the puppies for. It just sucks for the people that aren't rich that go in there.

Employees are not knowledgeable to exotics needs. They are just there to sale merchandise. There was a woman with a cold under 2 that was letting him climb into the bunny pen, pick the babies up by whatever he could grab and throw them and she was too busy on her phone to say a word although she watched the entire thing. I did point it out to a worker as I left before I lost my temper. I would DEFINITELY not buy an animal here. They have no return policy on fish and they don't test customers water if they bring it from home.

1st review: went in to get some items for my bearded dragon and was pushed to buy more stuff and the workers wouldn't leave me alone. felt very rushed and like i couldn't really get a moment of peace to look around. all about making sales2nd review/visit: went in recently and its still terrible. reptiles are skinny and not taken care of AT ALL. most have the wrong lights and diets. all these ppl care about are the dogs and making a paycheck. heard from an employee when i asked about this that there was nothing they could do since higher ups are aware if these conditions and do not seem to want to fix them. very sad.

I feel for these pets. It's a vicious cycle of feeling sorry for the animals but not wanting to get one bc it encourages them to make more. They also want way too much for an animal. $4,000 for a corgi and it wasn't even full blooded.

Went there to buy a hamster, after asking 3 different workers for help to get one and being ignored! Me and my daughter decided to look at the puppies because that's where all the workers were. I saw a corgi I was interested in and wanted to see him ,once again couldn't get any help everyone ignored me until I finally got the attention of the worker that seemed to be the only one helping customers I think it's.crazy to have 4 workers standing around talking and 1 that's doing everything smh and the prices of dogs that need homes is outrageous

I love going in their and looking at the animals. We wanted to adopt a dog but it was $4,000. Definitely VERY overpriced. They have their dogs in very small areas and don’t give them anything soft to lay on.
