My dog of 10 years, Cookie had been feeling sick for four days.I brought her to Dalton Vet. Practice today and found out she was in organ failure due to cancer. Unfortunately my only option was to euthanize her so she could go peacefully. The staff was EXTREMELY kind and patient with us. They made sure we understood everything well. I am very grateful and happy with the service my family and I received. They gave us a canvas with Cookies paw prints as a memoir.🐾 We were also given a box shaped like a casket so we could give her the proper burial she deserved . We were given a private checkout from our room so I was able to take her home peacefully. Thank you for all you have done for Cookie and I! We love and appreciate all you do! 🍪

I just moved to Dalton from Chattanooga and needed to find a new veterinarian here in the area. I don't want to subject my cat to an hour long drive if I don't have to. My cat started constantly sneezing large amounts of snot out of his nose and seemed really uncomfortable. I tried antihistamines but nothing helped so I searched on Google for local vet offices and this was the first one that came up.ONLY 7 MINITES FROM MY HOUSE! Yay! Also, they had a "cat specific" side called Kitty Korner AND could get me in the next day. So thankful for that.The appt went great. They were on time and they were the nicest vet staff I have ever encountered.They ran some tests and decided we needed to try antibiotics (a shot and nose drops).He was sneezing less that 1st night!4 days later and he's hardly sneezing at all and isn't producing the massive amounts of snot that he had been. He seems to be in a better mood too.He's 13 and he played harder last night than he has in years. I am so thankful they got my eldest baby feeling better!I will definitely keep bringing my cats here!Update: 2 years later and im still bringing my elderly baby here. I absolutetely trust the vet and everyone else here to do their best to make sure my kitty is happy and healthy!

If you want a Vet Clinic that cares as much for your fur baby as you do, this is the place. My Max was feeling pretty bad. The staff is very compassionate and understanding of his needs as well as mine. Being retired and on limited income, they understood the financial struggle and made several suggestions with a care plan and the cost and left it to me to decide which route to go. Max was back to his playful self in a couple days. Max and I appreciate everything they did.

This was the second time my dog & I had visited this veterinary clinic. I like the service they give, they are very friendly and Dr. J is sweet and very knowledgeable on caring for my dog. The office also smells good, which was a plus for me. Smells sanitized, and you'd never know it was a Veterinary office if you walked in with your eyes closed. Will definitely continue to be a returning customer when need be.

We took our Golden Puppy to Dalton Vet. Clinic for a horrible hotspot.It was 5 days ago and it's almost healed.The Staff was so nice and accommodating.Dr. Shipe was so sweet and very knowledgeable especially since she specializes in animal dermatology.I think we have found the perfect fit for us at Dalton Veterinary Practice from now on.Sherry

I LOVE Dalton Veterinary Practice! Dr. Shipe and Dr. Johnson are wonderful, compassionate, and helpful. They always take the time to explain everything to me and never seem to be in a rush. All of the staff are amazing as well and I love that they seem to remember my pets and are happy to see us when we come. Their prices are also very reasonable and they're open extended hours some days which is super convenient, and whenever I've had an emergency, they're great at fitting me in for a last-minute appointment. I highly recommend this practice!

Our Maggie has been a patient here for 4 years and has always received excellent care. Today the staff went above and beyond expectations. As I was bringing Maggie into the waiting room she got loose from her collar! She headed for Cleveland Highway and I couldn’t catch her. I was sure she was going to get hit by the oncoming traffic. All of a sudden the entire staff was out there trying to catch Maggie (60 lb). She was scared and fast but they were able to tackle her in the middle of Cleveland Highway and save her while getting a few injuries themselves! I am thankful beyond words that they saved our Maggie! As I thanked them they all acted like it was all in a days work and just part of their job. Then they calmly and compassionately proceeded with the appointment! These people are heroes! Their actions today reflect the amazing care your furbaby will receive at Dalton Veterinary Practice & Kitty Corner!

The staff is always so nice and helpful. They treat my fur babies like I would and always make them feel comfortable. My first time there with our old pup who hates his nails clipped, they offered and we were anxious because he usually gets fiesty but we could hear them talking to him and making him know it was okay.

I took my dog to see the vet because he was lethargic. He wasn't his normal one dog parade jumping up and wagging his tail when I'd get home or walked out of the house. He was weak and couldn't stand well on his hind legs.The lab ($250) results show negative for kidney infection or uti, negative for stomach worms but positive for elevated white blood cell counts and not sure for heartworm but was repeated at the lab and it finally showed up positive for heartwords. I'm on my way to pick up the results.The vet said that he wouldn't make it passed the week. He explained that his urine was dark at the time because the heartwords are breaking down something that's making the dog look jaundice and dark urine.Right now, a week and 4 days later my dog is alive, playful, and much improved. His urine is normal color but smells like it's high in something. Idk. It smells a bit heavier than my other dog's. His bowel movement appears normal-a high pile and thick creamy consistency consistent with his canned dog food diet. He's energetic. He wants to go for walks. He eats-moderately, and gets frisky with his body pillow/playmate.I'm not sure how to rate the facility based on the diagnosis. The staff was friendly. And I feel they answered my questions the best they could. However, I'm still not sure what happened or is happening with my dog.The vet advised against treating him for heartworms since he suspects my dog might have CHF caused by heartworms. He says the treatment would take 2 months to complete and my dog didn't look like he'd make it past last week Thursday.Update:I had to put him to sleep. He was animated, looked happy, and went walking with me but then he started to vomit after eating.

This group really care about your babies. They are so welcoming and so gentle with my senior dog. They made him feel comfortable and for a chihuahua that's not a easy task. They do great work best lace to go in Dalton !

I spent the morning trying to find a vet that answered the phone. This was the only one that did! They were able to get me in immediately and the atmosphere was so relaxed. Everyone was SO thorough and nice. I've been trying to find a vet in Dalton that compared to my vet in Chattanooga and I think I have FINALLY found the place! Thanks yall!!!

Since the National spay foundation and Vet clinic closed (near Tractor Supply) I needed ear medicine for may Anatolian Shepherd.The medicine (Otomax) runs 18 dollars a tube so I usually get a couple from the clinic.Dalton Vet clinic visit cost me 300 dollars !!Absolutely insane !!If your going for the 1st time and this is your Pets1st visit.....EXPECT STICKER SHOCK !!

Above and beyond. They were so kind and sweet to my sick dog; it's very clear they love animals here. They were very thorough in the exam and recommended a reasonable treatment plan and didn't try to tack on unnecessary charges. The exam fee is a little high at $70 but the service is excellent so I can't complain. I'll be bringing both of my dogs here going forward.ETA: They even called the next day to check up on him and see how he's doing 😭 such excellent customer service!

Just moved back to town full time. Was in need of a vet and wasn’t excited about using the vet I had visited for years. Read the reviews and they are only a couple miles away from my home , so I decided to try them. Was extremely pleased. Upon walk in, no smell of pets. Very clean, staff extremely friendly and helpful. Vet was the best. She was gentle with my dog and gave me the cause of my dog’s distress and options to treat. She didn’t push expensive procedures like many vets do. With an older pet, she gave me suggestions. I told them I would be back and would make this my pet’s new “doggie doctor place”. Highly recommend!!!

We mostly come here to have our pugs nails trimmed. Something neither of them is very fond of having done. They can be quite wiggly and their nails are difficult to trim because they curl. Their groomer knows just how to calm them and is able to get the job done without stressing out the dogs. Appointments are always done on time too. No long waits in the lobby. Very clean facility. Highly recommend.

We are new to the area and this was our first experience with this office. We were impressed. The office was clean and smelled great, the doctor and staff were friendly, caring, and gentle. We will definitely be back when we need anything for our fur babies.

I truly believe if I would not have gotten a second opinion that my senior dog would have died because of the recommended treatment this place gave us. Dr. Shipe said she had heart failure /enlargement but couldn't give me a straight answer as to why she thought that because she said she didn't know if her heart was enlarged or not on the X-ray. We were prescribed two heart medications and given a hand out on heart failure. We took her to a specialist that saw no signs of heart failure or enlargement whatsoever. This makes me wonder if DAC said she had heart failure just so they could sell me multiple highly expensive heart medications each month. We have used this practice for 15+ years and in the last year it has gone downhill. You can get WAY better care, service and prices elsewhere. They have definitely lost a longtime customer.

Everything from setting up our first appointment to the day of our visit was great. It was easy to set an appointment and we did not have a long wait. On the day of our appointment, we were seen promptly and everyone was nice. Our questions were answered and everything was explained. I could tell they cared about our experience and our pets!

The staff was beyond nice. The ladies upfront were super nice.I understand that everyone has to make a living but the prices here are so expensive that I could not return. I ended up having to go somewhere else to get my dog spayed. Everyone wants people to adopt and get pets fixed but with prices like this, I see why people don't.

The doctor pictured no longer works at either practice. Ever since they were bought out the service has declined. Although the clinic was clean. There is no way has anything to do with anyone being disgruntled I was just perusing the pictures on the Google site and to the best of my knowledge it there isn’t a doctor with you guys anymore or one of the gentlemen that’s there and I have been a customer. I’ve been coming to Dalton animal care south For two decades. I pray you have much success in the coming future with all your endeavors. Thank you.

My sweet, but hyper around new people, American Bully did very well with his caregivers today, Tanner and Dr Johnson. Our first visit to Dalton Veterinary Practice after our vet moved, so I failed to hear the names of the “front desk” ladies who were efficient and helpful. Cost of Sentinel for >51# dog through their affiliate online pharmacy was less than Chewy. After benefiting discounted fees at the National Spay Alliance Foundation the cost seemed high, but the reality is I was fortunate to have had NSAF care/prices as many years as it lasted.
