Happy Friday to all of my Google Reviewers!!!!! I wanted to share my experience and welcome feedback once read. I was able to locate Ruff House Pet Botique on Google and initially received great customer service via phone. I scheduled my first appointment and it went off without ONE GLITCH! Well, when I got to this small town it was a little unnerving. I was honestly concerned about my race being accepted around those parts. Anyway, the groomer worked her magic on my dogs and gave them both their self-esteem back! Well, Labor Day weekend, I had an appointment scheduled for them, however LIFE showed up and no matter how hard I tried to get my dogs to their appointment.... I missed it. I did not call or show because everything that day was a total calamity! I reached back out over the past 24 hours. I was sent to voice-mail yesterday. I left a voice mail. I recieved a follow up call from the owner I am assuming .....that due to " their policy" that applies to ALL of their customers that if you miss your appointment, you have to pay the total balance of the appointment missed? I was NEVER told that. I was not given any information about that in writing or a pamphlet outlining it? The owner went on to say despite her NOT notifying me or explaining it to me.... In order for me to recieve their services that I would have to pay $230 if I was placed back on the books? I disagreed with the owner and I further explained that I felt like I was being racially profiled. This had to be the only way to prevent THIS QUEEN from coming back to this small town. I said that because, my dogs had a GREAT GROOMING experience. However, we were not particularly welcomed upon our entry into the establishment the first time. As a matter of fact, the owner actually came in talking rubbish to the other groomers as if she was a customer. I personally didn't find it funny at all. However, my dogs needed them. Since this incident just took place within the past few hours, I notified the owner that I was going to do a review to obtain the opinion of others? I am hopeful that I will not be racially targeted with comments but if so, I would not be surprised. I also wanted to know demographically how many African Americans utilized their services and were provided policy information before hand or had an experience like mines? Has this policy been placed on anyone without being aware and you were okay with double paying at your next appointment. This approach appears to be dogmatic and extremely insulting to my intelligence. What are your thoughts?Sincerely,A dog mother just trying to be treated fairly and apologized sincerely for a situation outside of my control.P.S. I did confirm attending 24 hours in advance. However, policies were never discussed.P.S.S. My Dogs mean the world to our family. They enjoyed their experience but it's concerning about the level of unprofessionalism and I am leaning on racial profiling. I cannot say enough good things about Breanna and her staff! She treats my 13-year-old basset mix fur baby with the same loving care that she takes with the purebred pups, and Candy loves her "spa mornings" there. Breanna and her staff are both professional and knowledgeable. I was excited when I heard that a groomer was coming to Mansfield, and Ruff House has been a wonderful addition to our city. Thank you, Breanna and staff, for the love you show our pets!

I have been using Breanna for about 5 years and she always goes the extra mile and my Sophie always looks so awesome. I have taken her to different groomers when Breanna was booked and I was going out of town and I have to say, I didn’t like the outcome. The other groomers didn’t clean her ears nor eyes and the cut was hideous. Breanna also knows a lot about animals and can let you know when something doesn’t seem right with their health. I know of Breanna’s cancellation policy and can totally understand it. My Daughter is a hairdresser and it messes up her day with last minute cancellations. Not to mention loss income that could have been replaced with another appointment. It is just common courtesy to cancel an appointment. Breanna, you and your team are awesome!

I was a bit confused and thought this place was in Covington but it is actually in Mansfield. They are absolutely the best at what they do. The woman, with the blonde hair can’t remember her name, did a phenomenal job on my two boxers. They definitely have a repeat and happy customer from me.

Miss Breanna is the absolute best of the best. She’s groomed both of my dogs—a toy poodle and a standard doodle. She always makes them beautiful. Not only is Miss Breanna talented, but she loves her customers like family. Every dog she works on is one of her “babies.” This place is the best around!!!

Well Erin, looks like you have put your foot in your mouth! I raised Breanna and know far better than you that she is NOT a racist and I tend to believe the same as her loyal clients that you just might be the racist. She does not discriminate against anyone for any matter. Life gets difficult for everyone, but we still take the time to be responsible enough to cancel appointments we are not able to keep. It’s called common courtesy and business. Maybe you should buy your own grooming supplies!

I’ve been using Breanna for almost 4 years now for my Yorker. She does an excellent job. She is the most loving and caring person to take care of my baby. She and her staff are NOT racist as someone on here has claimed.

Absolutely love bringing my baby here. He looks tons better once he leaves Breanna's care! We have always been treated with great kindness and professionalism. She has even gone out of the way to respond after business hours when she didn't have to. I always recommend her for anyone's pet care needs!

I have been using Breanna for approximately 3 years now, and she always makes my baby look Beautiful!!!! She is the best!!!! To the girl Erin Robinson, that was complaining about the cancellation fee . . . Well welcome to 2023, does your Doctor, Dentist, etc, anyone that has clients not charge you for missed appointments????? Because mine do, and to think you want to pull the "race card" just because you were rude and didn't show up for appointment and didn't bother to call and cancel??????? And that's NOT how we do it in a "small town". Some of your comments are ridiculous, but this is just my opinion.. Erin, you wanted feed back, well here ya go!!!!!

This is in response to a review made by Erin Robinson about a week ago.I know Breanna Elder and Ruff house…she is NOT a racist!! And upon reading your ridiculous review, it sounds like YOU are the racist. You said in your own review that you were unnerved by the “small” town and you were concerned whether or not you’re a race would be accepted. All this was BEFORE you drop the dog off… So who exactly is the racist? How dare you try to ruin somebody’s livelihood because you didn’t have the money to pay for the cancellation fee. You also said in your own review that life got in the way and you could not call to cancel your appointment… First of all, I do believe it takes about 30 seconds to make a phone call and second of all to not cancel your appointment is rude and ignorant. Just like everybody else in the world, she’s trying to make a living for her and her family and by you not showing does not allow her to do that… That is not racism on her part. That is financial on your part. Oh, and FYI, I’M BLACK!!!!!!

Ruff House is the best around hands down!!!I am extremely overprotective of my schnauzer and have been taking her to Breanna and her team for a little over a year. I can’t imagine taking her anywhere else. She receives the best care and everyone there is always very attentive. Ruff House does an excellent job grooming but more importantly, they keep my girl safe and treat her like their own. Katie is always such a sweetheart and keeps my girl looking top notch!The one star review that was recently posted concerns me greatly. It starts off with, “I was honestly concerned about my race being accepted around those parts”. What in the world is going on with that statement?!?! Yet at the end of the review, racial profiling is mentioned. Seems to me that said reviewer profiled the town or rather “those parts” to begin with. Fun fact, my race is Hispanic, Mexican to be exact, and I have never had an issue around “those parts” or at Ruff House.In regards to the policy for a missed appointment, how is that insulting someone’s intelligence? A business agrees to reserve time on their books to provide a service to you. In turn, you agree to pay for the service. When you don’t show up, that time (that was reserved for you) could have went to someone else if the business receives enough notice. When a client becomes a no show, that is instantly lost revenue. Doctors, dentists, salons, spas, and even some restaurants will charge you for a missed appointment or reservation.I myself have lost track of time and missed my appointment at Ruff House. I immediately apologized and let Katie know that I messed up and it completely slipped my mind. Before she could even say anything else I let her know that I would pay for my missed appointment. In my opinion, that’s just common courtesy and respect.* I would encourage anyone that reviews a business on a public forum to seriously consider the words, statements, accusations, and even the amount of stars that are given. Things like this can effect someone’s livelihood and take a toll on employees. If you don’t agree with a policy but received a great service, does that really warrant a one start review? No, it doesn’t.*

I’ve been using Ruff House for 3 years and Breanna is the only person I trust with my girl! I have had to pay for a missed appointment at the next but I understand it’s a common policy and worth it for my girl to continue getting pampered there!
