I cannot speak highly enough of Comer Veterinary Hospital. When my rabbit fell ill, Dr. Russell and his team showed us both unparalleled compassion and attention. Dr. Russell's expertise and genuine care were evident from the moment we walked in. The entire office, from the warm and welcoming receptionists to the skilled veterinary techs and other doctors (thank you Kelsi, Holly, and Dr. Goggans), radiated love and care for my sweet animal. I am immensely grateful for the exceptional care and support we received there during such a challenging time. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking compassionate and professional veterinary care.

Tried to have my dog seen for a bullet wound. They put me off until later on the day, wanted to do so many excessive procedures for extra $ and we basically had to leave. Instead of trying to help us, they tried to nickel and some us.

This has been my veterinarian practice since I moved to Athens in 1995. It was great when I moved here and only continues to improve. Dr. Mandy, and all the staff are the best. Caring and honest - always willing to work with you to find the best course of care for your pets. Lilli fully supports this review. Addition Sept 2022 - Lilli even likes coming here to get her nails done. If I try at home it looks like a calf roping gone horribly wrong. Thanks to all the great techs ❣️❣️❣️

Seems like a great group of people. We had a sudden issue with our cat and they worked us into their already busy schedule. Despite being busy everyone was friendly and helpful.I'll be bringing my other animals up for their annual check ups.

Our poor kitty was attacked by our neighbors dogs.. (In her own yard) The staff were absolutely amazing. They explained everything to us as it was happening. Our sweet girl will never be the same but they got her back home to our family. 🙏🏻 They took really good care of our fur baby and I am truly thankful. They have called every few days to check on her. Any issues that have come up they quickly figured out a solution that helped so much. If your fur kids need a vet we highly recommend Comer Veterinary Hospital!!

I was recommended to Comer Vet by my fantastic dog groomer, for their dental services. My rescue dog, unfortunately, has bad teeth and was needing a second extensive cleaning and extraction. Not only were they extremely reasonably priced, the care was amazing. The staff was attentive and explained everything perfectly.Recently, my dog caught an awful stomach virus and I called them to consult. They allowed me to schedule a “drop-in” appointment for the next day which turned out to be very needed. I was able to drop her off and they called me later to update me and let me know when to pick up my dog. They brought everything to my car and made everything super simple. They prescribed plenty of meds and I felt much better about my poor pup.Above all this, their staff is not only prompt and thorough, they are incredibly patient and kind. They answered all my questions and treated both myself and my dog with the utmost of care.They are somewhat far from where I live but they are worth the drive. Highly recommend.

My 16 year old cat had a wound by her tail and needed prompt medical attention. They allowed me to drop off my kitty the very next day after i had called (and would have seen her the day i called but i had gone into work) and allowed me to pick up my cat 7 hours afterwards. I didn't have an apt and they still saw my kitty when they could. Their rate was very reasonable. I'm very grateful and appreciative of their friendly staff and the ability to see my cat at very extreme short notice and still give me amazing service. 5 stars will definitely recommend them to anyone!!!

Can’t express how happy and thankful I am to have found this vet, was forced after a nightmare experience at Madison Animal Hospital and I can’t thank God enough for it. Dr. Strickland was knowledgeable and not aggressive with treatment - he told us our options honestly and transparently so we could decide with his expertise what’s best for us and our dog. I fear if I went elsewhere they would have chose the most expensive option “just in case” - when it wasn’t needed. Our dog had a UTI - not pyometra which requires surgery. Front desk I think her name was Melissa was amazing and all of the tech staff too! Def recommend this vet and all they represent.

I have been using Comer Vet for years, about 14 or 15 years, I they are great and take good care of my dog. The only part I don't like is that we aren't able to always go insde or go to the back with our dog anymore. I understand times have changed.

If you like being "treated like a mushroom" by contemptuous condescending chiselers, go here, tear yourself a new one. They're okay vets, the culture of their whole practice is just super arrogant and greedy, essentially hostile. I bet it wasn't 30 years ago when they started out, but they've "kept up with the times." Yeah, they're 100% up to date.

Today an individual pulled into the Circle k parking lot in Comer GA. and threw a very young sick kitten out of their car window!! I ran and retrieved the kitten and realized immediately this kitten was not well and needed medical treatment. I went immediately to this clinic that was just down the street from the k store at 2pm this afternoon. The staff said they are going to charge me for an emergency visit since I didn't have an appointment.. Very unprofessional if you ask me!! I do not recommend this location to anyone!! My vet in Augusta was more than happy to help this little fellow at the normal visit rate..

I took my 7 month old dog in for our first (and only) visit today to have his incision checked from where he had been neutered by another vet at another location. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable. We only had to wait a couple of minutes to be called back to a room. I was really excited and thinking I had found a new vet for my baby. The vet tech came in the room and we reviewed my dog's history as well as what brought us into the office today. She then takes my dog with her to get a fecal sample. I have yet to ever see or meet the actual vet. Moments after she went out of the room with my dog I heard a painful yelp from him. Minutes later when the vet tech brought him back to me, he was terrified and she informed me the vet pulled the fecal sample and removed the sutcher from his incision and they would both be back in a few minutes to talk to me. I have never seen or talked with this vet before in my life and she treated my dog in my absence before she came in and met me. I thought that was very inappropriate and unprofessional and as a result I will not return to this place of business nor would I recommend it to anyone who views their pet as a family member. A pediatrician is not going to treat a child in the absence of the parent nor should a veterinarian treat a dog in the owner's absence. My dog is one of my children and I expect to be treated as such!

I recently had the horrible experience of losing my sweet baby while we were at Comer Veterinary clinic and I was truly amazed at how much the staff seemed to grieve with me . They have been taking care of my baby for years and I felt like she and I were surrounded by family as she passed and even after. They treated me with so much kindness and support. It was one of the most horrible days of my life but they made it a little easier. God Bless them all .

Me and my family have been using this clinic for our pets for 10+ years. They were very respectful and caring when we had to put our 8 year old dog down and had to put my 6 year old cat down after discovering he had feline aids. They were very sweet and i recommend them to anyone. :)

I had an appt for 2 dogs to get a shot each. I've been waiting in my car for an hour. Three cars have pulled up and all after me and have already been taken care of. The receptionist said we had to wait for a technician to come out. It literally takes 5 seconds to give a shot. It's now been over an hour and I'm still waiting in 100 degree heat!!

Clinic is great, reception could be greatly improved. Doesnt need to be fired, just needs to learn what is going on around her as far as patients. And needs to learn to be more informative when actual veterinarians are busy.
