Visited family in Clayton Ga today. We decided to pop in to Clayton Cafe & Market and we were all very pleased with the experience! From the appetizers to the entrees they definitely did not disappoint! I’ve never had a club sandwich this massive for such a great price! Everyone got something different from the menu and everyone had nothing negative to say about their experience. The service was amazing as well as the great atmosphere that they provided. We all had a wonderful time and will definitely stop in when we’re in town again!

My favorite stop in north Georgia! Always excellent food and wonderful friendly service!! Typically I find something I like on a menu and order it every visit. At Clayton Cafe the fried pickles are always ordered but I change my order every visit and love everything I’ve eaten.Clayton Cafe makes the absolutely most delicious fried pickles served with a spicy ranch dressing. 🤤 Ate here yesterday on our way through town and woke up wishing we could go back for lunch today.

We stopped here on the way back to have some lunch. Can't say anything bad. The chicken strips were some of the best I have had. Loved the beet and carrot salad side dishes. Waitress was very nice. Can't wait to go back and try the fried chicken. Oh and they have a coffee shop on the other side that was wonderful as well. Nice gem in this small town.

Had lunch with a friend, when we arrived at 11 am wait wasn’t too bad about 10 minutes. We enjoyed shopping in the market. Lots of Christmas decor out for you to enjoy and purchase. Not a ton of seating on the side for lunch so definitely get there early. When we were leaving there was more people waiting to be seated. We both had the country fried steak with sawmill gravy, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. We didn’t wait long for our food, it was hot and delicious!! For dessert I chose the chocolate cake, it was good too! Everyone from the host to our server was very nice and welcoming. Definitely worth the trip ! Before lunch we visited several of the shops, lots of variety! From clothing to home decor!

I checked the Internet open and close times. They were open all day. The restaurant had good reviews. So we planned our trip back home to stop at 10 to eat breakfast. Breakfast was supposed to be served till 10:30. We arrived at 5 minutes till 10. The hostess said we close at ten and open back at 11:30. I said well it's only 5 till 10 plus the Internet says you're open all day. She said we've stopped cooking. We have no more food. I said but the Internet says you stop serving breakfast at 10:30 and it also says on Saturday and Sunday your open all day till 8pm. The hostess said well we close at 10:00 and open back up at 11:30. In the few minutes while I was standing there, they turned away 16 people. Three different groups, that were all expecting the same as me and were under the same assumption. You need to update your yelp and website info to reflect your correct times. They are all messed up!

I was visiting the town of Clayton, GA. for the first time ever with a friend of mine and we stopped here for breakfast. I ordered a typical breakfast of an American cheese omelette with grits and sausage patties. The waitress, who was an absolute sweetheart, suggested I try the biscuits because she described them as really, really good. Boy, am I happy I took her suggestion because these were some of the freshest and tastiest biscuits I've ever had the pleasure of eating. If you've ever heard someone describe food as "to die for", I would imagine they were talking about these biscuits. Oh, and the omelette, grits and sausage patties were spectacular as well. If I ever find myself in Clayton, GA. again, I will absolutely stop at Clayton Cafe again.

This is such a cute place! The chicken strips are hand battered and delicious, although the person I was dining with ordered the country fried steak and wasn’t particularly impressed. We had a nice experience overall and would return again!

Came in for breakfast and had the eggs Benedict. Food came out pretty quickly and the eggs were perfectly cooked. The home fries had an Italian seasoning (I think). Anyway they were very good. We had Lisa as our waitress and she was wonderful so I done have to call her Cheyenne lol! Love her banter!! She brought my tea in a box to choose from and brought extra hot water, that's a biggy for me! I'm definitely coming back. Also came to the market to get a dessert to go last night. Cookies for the hubby and a butter pecan pie slice for me. Cookies were very good, didn't much care for the pie, sorry. Might be because I REALLY wanted the lemon coconut that sold out right before I got back to the counter.

My wife and I came here for dinner while visiting Clayton for the weekend, and the food was good and the service was really good. It was a little pricey but it looks like their prices went up recently due to the pandemic.I got the buffalo chicken sandwich and sweet corn nuggets. The sandwich came on white bread or Texas toast instead of a bun but it was good, and the corn nuggets were pretty good too.My wife got the Philly cheese steak with squash casserole as a side. The Philly cheese steak was good but the squash casserole was a little bland, it wasn't bad but just wasn't amazing or anything. It's a solid restaurant with a lot of items on the menu that looked good, so we would go back again.

We love visiting Clayton, GA. The Clayton Cafe is a great little local restaurant. The owner and staff were so friendly and attentive. The potato flats are a must try item. They also had an interesting combination that we nicknamed “groovy flats” (potato flats and gravy) Every item we tried was excellent.Visited again for breakfast and had chicken and waffles. It was great. The market next door is fabulous with coffee, baked items, sandwiches and take home casseroles. Highly recommend.

On our vacation, nestled in the town of Clayton we found this cafe. The staff were so friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Their unique fries and hand-battered onion rings were divine. When we were finished eating we walked the shops for over an hour and my seventeen year old son could not stop raving about their food. So on our way back to the car we stopped in and told the owner how great her food and staff were. If you are ever in Clayton, stop by for a bite you will not be disappointed.

Dropped in with my wife and three kids. Great atmosphere and very clean. Our waitress was very good and knows the menu. I had the Wow burger with a side of Mac n Cheese. My wife had the Country Fried steak with sawmill gravy, mashed potatoes/gravy, and the Squash casserole plus the cheese biscuit. The kids had chicken tenders, salad w/ shrimp, and cheeseburger with fries. My Wow burger was awesome. It had a cooked-to-perfection burger patty with fried green tomato, bacon, pimento cheese, and comeback sauce to top. The bun appears to be a brioche. It all works well together and is a great combination of flavors. It ranks as one of my top 5 burgers. The Mac n Cheese is some of the best I’ve ever had. My wife enjoyed her Country fried steak as well as her sides. The star of the show was the squash casserole. There were no complaints from the kids regarding their meals as evidenced by the empty plates. Overall, we love this place and will definitely be back.

Food was very good. Cool little place. Our only issue was the wait time. Everyone kept saying they were sorry, but people were sitting down after us and getting their food before us. I think our ticket got lost. Other than that, the food was great.

Everything was delicious. Our plate didn’t represent much color, but we had some favorites we wanted to try (and share). Upon arrival, the large plate made the portions appear small (eyes bigger than our stomachs), but they were actually perfect. We affirmed our Clean Plate Club Memberships today. I told my husband, “They’ve been serving meals since 1931...they know how much to serve.” The street parking provides a great opportunity to stroll the cute local shops. On the Saturday morning visit, there was a constant flow of diners but - with more seating in a space out of site - no one seemed to wait too long for a table. The wait staff was friendly and efficient - and took her time to explain the menu. We look forward to a future visit to try more.

After a long day of hiking, the healthy portions will satisfy any appetite! The Bustle sprouts are one of the best we’ve had!The service is welcoming and friendly as can be! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming as well.In short, make this one of your dinner spots on your trip. You won’t regret it!

AMAZING home cooked food! The onion rings are hand battered, the sweet potato fries had cinnamon super delicious! Everything on our plates were excellent. Expect a large plate and to be extremely full. Our waitress Cheyenne was AWESOME, we never had to ask for refills. She took very good care of us. Definitely recommend this place! They were packed even on a rainy day!

A terrific little diner: good food, tremendous variety, abundant side options, great service, attractively decorated. This is a can't-miss opportunity to enjoy great-tasting comfort food in an equally comfortable environment: a relatively modern take on the type of local cafe that small towns are famous for. Definitely worth a try.
