Tried calling on a Monday morning because a stray dog wound up in my yard. Would have left him alone if it weren’t for my other dogs trying to attack him. Was told they were too busy and couldn’t get him until tomorrow. I thought y’all were supposed to help out animals. Very lazy and inconsiderate.

I called looking for my sisters dog kyngz. I called and was told MAM WE DONT PUT ANIMALS DOWN HERE!! a very mean person lied and dropped her off as a stray, they kept her 8 days and put her down. A beautiful healthy 1 year old. Yesterday my sister got the papers of her info about her being put to death. She was not a stray. So if yall cant find your pet please check here a week is not enough time for the owners to find them. Especially when you live in Alabama and u let someone come from Alabama and drop off knowing yall was too full.Rip kynz sorry we couldnt save you in time and i was lied to that they dont put animals dwn.

I have had to have several strays picked up over the past couple of years. Animal control officers have been very responsive, respectful, and helpful. They have always been very professional.

Drew and Pat were very supportive and timely with our needs. Appears all the internal changes including leadership will be positively impacting all law abiding citizens in Haralson County. Enforcing the law, protecting our animals, and family speaks highly of these new employees. We are feeling very hopeful with their interventions. We appreciate each of you!

I have called several times since moving to the county a few years ago. The woman who "helped" me when I called told me that a stray I found was mine now because I took him out of the road and rain to safety before I called. She said I should have left him there and called them immediately. It made no sense. She agreed that it was an odd policy, but that's just how it is. Then I had to call them back about a group of clearly stray dogs and she said they couldn't do anything about it because she didnt know whether they belonged to someone. I asked isn't that the point of animal control- to assess the situation and possibly take the loose/possibly stray dogs and hold them safely to allow the owner to claim them? Then I had to call a third time knowing she wouldn't help me, but I had to try. I was trying to report a possibly stray dog but told her I didn't pick it up this time because last time she told me the dog was mine when I picked it up and took possession and she claimed she never said that. I was livid. I kept the dog I found and got him to a foster rescue and am grateful he never had to go to that shelter. I have never in my life left a negative review about anyone or anything, but my experience with their service has been horrible. I just hope they treat the animals better than they treat humans.

I adopted a dog from here last year. He escaped and got hit by a car the day after...I tried repeatedly to get in Touch with them to tell them. Never answered. Then next thing I know, a friend of mine who works in the courthouse tells me that i have a court date that day (never received a paper or anything in the mail) if I wasn't told that day I would've spent jail time over a dog who died...I finally got in touch with them and she said "if you didn't get anything in the mail how did you know you had a court date today? " I told her someone had told me that worked at the courthouse and she rolled her eyes and made me sign a paper stating that the dog had died.I Will NEVER adopt from here again..

They were all very kind to me when I wanted to place a notice about my lost dog. They encouraged me to look at all the dogs to make sure mine wasn't there. They also promised to keep an eye out for him. In the meantime I adopted another dog while I was there. The process was very smooth and very affordable. Everyone there was very helpful. I was impressed.

Utterly pathetic. Apparently anyone can write a fraudulent ticket. Said they called me several times to tell me I was behind on getting my rescue sterilized and vaccinated. This is not true. I never received a call or a single piece of mail. Just a court summons. Also what the stupid thing really was is that he had heart worms which delayed the time frame on when he could have gotten neutered and he was given his rabies shot less than two weeks after adopting him. That part was on Burma animal clinic because they sent the paperwork to the wrong place. But still I never received a call and they also need to make it very clear who and who isn't a "sworn" animal control officer.

This place is amazing. Small county animal shelter. Not much funding...but what a nice facility! The people working there are kind and love those critters. They work nonstop to get food and supplies for the animals, line up rescue groups to help save the animals, educate on the importance of spay/neuter. They are rockstars!

Very unhelpful and unprofessional. Rather than helping with a problem, the issue was solved by telling me that it has already been an issue prior and that I need to call my local police department to get a stray animal from our yard. The person then proceeded to hang up instead of saying good bye or even answering my question I had to ask.

Went to see my dog here one day from what I saw he only had water and the smallest little bed. And I called to see if they had my dog and the lady that answered I couldn’t half understand her I decided my dog she said there’s a lot of dog there and then hung up on me.
