This store is absolutely ridiculous. Don't waste your time. They refuse to let you use the dressing rooms to try anything on, for, "safety," and they also won't give you your money back if you buy it and it doesn't fit. Unbelievable. Never coming back.

I love this goodwill because they always have the best stuff, but every time I go in there I have a weird interaction with one particular employee with colorful hair. My first interaction (months ago) she scalded me for looking at the men’s shirts too long and that I was in her way. Today, while shopping with my children, she approached and said under her breath “why do you hate me for wanting to talk to my customers?” I didn’t think she was talking to me, as I was on the phone with my husband at the time and not looking her direction. Then she approached me from BEHIND in another isle a few moments later and starting to interact with my children. I look over at her (still not sure who is interacting with my infant) and she says “it wouldn’t kill you to say hi.”I am a very friendly person, but typically just stay to myself (especially in today’s world). This situation made me very uncomfortable and I will likely never be back.

This is a huge Goodwill store and they have a little bit of everything.the stuff that I looked at was way overpriced, CDs and compact disc were $3And the prices were outright highNot sure about the clothes they had a very large selection but I wasn't sure about the prices or quality of itemsI it is what it is a Goodwill you never know what you might find and you might get a good deal

Catching up on reviews. Was here on Saturday, 06-04-22 with a thrifting group. We were given a 25% off discount on our purchases. Very appreciated! Every little bit counts. I was doing some personal shopping for others while thrifting. Found these beautiful skirts for others. Also bought these dress shirts for a loved one; it's not always easy to find good shirts in larger sizes.This was a larger store with plenty of items to look through with time.

Some good deals if you look hard enough. The color of the week never seems to be very plentiful. Nice people work here.Update: prices are kind of ridiculously expensive. Long line at the register today. No longer have changing rooms 😞

Big store. Lots of clothing!This is really a big used clothing store. Although they have other items there's not a gigantic selection. I'm sure there is an operational reason behind it but I was a bit surprised by the small amount of furniture relative to other types of things.They have several rows of books but it seems almost like random order. I understand there is a treasure hunt mentality but some kind of categorization would probably be helpful. Of course I know that might be difficult.We have done drop offs in the past and really had to help the guys unload.I think it's a great place if you are looking for used clothing and have lots of time to sort through things. But that's kind of the expectation of a thrift store I guess.Very clean and the clothing looked pretty organized.There were also lots of DVDs. We use those in the car, so that was nice and they were very reasonably priced. The pricing seemed a little erratic. I'm sure there must be some formula but I saw a pair of beat up pioneer speakers for $25 each. I would have expected $5 each! It would be interesting to understand more about the pricing model.Not a life-changing experience, but a pretty good place for values if you have the time to visit frequently or can spend a long time searching through things.

Nice clean store but the items were a bit pricey. Saw two Minnie Mouse toys, same exact items but two different prices , one was 2.09 and the other was 4.09 !!!!

Rude manager, rude employees. Here’s the story:My wife walked in at 1 to buy a matching set of black chairs. However, the chairs were separated and tagged and priced separately. One of them had the tag, and the other did not have the tag. First, there were 3 employees, all who were rude and disrespectful to her. When she asked an employee about the missing tag, they said someone probably just took the whole tag rather than the bottom and were holding onto it. Then they told her to come back in 2 hours to see if anyone bought them. She came back 2 hours, and the same story. Someone must have the tag and is still in the store. After this interaction, my wife said she felt very disrespected and felt like they weren’t listening because she was a woman. That’s when she called me to come in. When I got in, it had been 6 hours since she originally came in. When I asked, they said that someone was still walking around with the tag probably and that people spend all day in there. The manager was so RUDE. Then, I asked about the forms that are for hold. They show me a form for pickup and 3 day hold (which has a carbon copy) and I asked if anyone had the chairs on hold and they said they didn’t keep copies of it!! There’s a carbon copy!! Obviously, some employees are either confused or lying, no wonder when they have a manager like that. My guess is an employee probably wants them and they refuse to sell to anyone. My family has shopped at Goodwill for 20+ years, and never had a problem. They’ve even helped my mom for work, and everyone was always so helpful and nice. Now they have unhelpful employees and very very rude managers. I’ve never seen such a badly run store, even for a Goodwill. They never even mentioned an exception, price matching, or selling the both as a duo. They never offered to take our phone number, to help us, or find a solution. Customer service is a skill and it lacks in this store. Do better and either talk to the manager or create a better policy.

I’m normally not a fan of goodwill, just because I feel like because the ceo makes so much money (It’s a thrift store, you shouldn’t be becoming rich) however I was able to get some goodies today, and I wanted to give a shout-out to Sheila. She checked me out and had personality and made me actually laugh. Y’all need to raise her pay because she was awesome! Seriously, Sheila is a great employee!

We love this goodwill, but lately the prices have gone up. I understand raising prices some, but this is laughable. Almost an entire row of shoes for $24.99 each….and they were all trashed. Go to Plato’s closet literally half a mile down the road and buy some for the same price that are in good condition and cleaned. It’s like they just guess on there prices and they don’t match the other goodwill in Athens at all. There’s no way whomever priced these actually believed they are worth that much (especially with the holes up Jordans smelling like straight up cigs).Edit: So hear me out, maybe your shoes aren’t worth what you are charging? Went back again this week only to find more ripped and stained shoes for $11.99 and $24.99. I honestly don’t understand where these prices come from? Is it ebay? If so you obviously aren’t looking at the correct listings. You’re charging what Plato’s closet charges for shoes that aren’t complete trash, as well as they are clean. It’s mind blogging really. I understand the manager comments and says “yes, call if you have concerns”, I don’t have to call to for you to walk down the shoe isle and notice the shoes that were given to you for free, not cleaned, and smell aren’t worth $25-35. I mean come on. Seriously Plato’s closet is right near by just save yourself the trouble. It’s not just shoes either, so there’s that too.

It's unbelievable how bad this store has become. Ah, where to start...(1)No carts. There are so few carts, grab one from the lot or people coming out IF you can find one. 90% of the time, there are no carts inside. (2)Soundtrack from hell at distracting levels. Don't bother telling the rude manger; he doesn't care that the music is too loud. (3) Prices for junk you can buy at a store new, at the same price or at a lower cost (4) Quality is very hard to find here. Picture frames without glass. Broken dishes, toys. Torn clothes. Pages missing from books. CDs missing from cases or scratched. Cracked plates hidden in the stacks taped together so you can't see the problems. Just throw it out, Goodwill! (5) Donations area is a tight squeeze for most mid to large size vehicles. And it's stuck in a strangely shaped corner of the lot!

The key to a good business is excellent customer service. Today, at the Goodwill store, my daughter was not shown good customer service. She was disrespected and given the run-around. Do better!

Wish I could do zero stars! My daughter in law was disrespected today, and I assure you as a shopper there forever, I know who to contact!! The tag was off, so policy as I've seen it and discussed with MGMT is you announce it over PA and if no one comes to claim it, you sell it! We all know people pull tags and leave without purchasing item. So six hours later you think they were still there shopping?? You will never get another dime of my money, and btw laziness is the only reason your dressing room isn't open!!! I will be in touch again about this.

Goodwills in general have just gone downhill in my opinion. But this location just took the cake for me. Lady actually tried charging me for the lid that was the exact match to the pot...like the original one to the pot...tapped ON THE pot. Then after I said I just didn't want it because I didn't agree with being charged separately for it and gave her the garlic press to ring up...she then stated that it didn't have a price on it and she just couldn't sell it and I would have to come back in a week or so for it to be sent to the back to be priced 😂 that whole experience was just ridiculous and I literally left the rest of my items in the cart and walked out. Goodwill will just not be getting anymore of my money or donations. Their prices have gone up ridiculously and all that rounding up my total for "employee training" seems to have gone to waste.

Just went in to kill some time today, got some pie pans and some fun mugs- Harry W. was the sweetest cashier! :) Wrapped all my goodies up nice and safe, and we had a pleasant chat while he rang me up. The store is clean and organized and priced pretty fairly. Friendly folks are hard to find these days, so it's nice to visit a place where people still value kindness!

Great finds if you have the time. Like any thrift store, this one can be hit-or-miss. However, it doesn’t smell musty, dusty, or like moth balls and they rotate stock frequently. So if you have an off day one time, you can pretty much count on a good day next time. They have trouble keeping staff (like most places currently), so be prepared to wait in line.

I've been shopping at Goodwill for years but whoever is doing the pricing lately has lost their minds. As another review mentioned, there are rows and rows of USED and FLAWED shoes priced at $25-35. If I wanted to pay those kinds of prices, I would go down the street to TJMAXX and buy something new. Save yourself some time, skip Goodwill and go someplace reasonable (Plato's closet is right down the street and sells better quality items for less $$).

I live in a house full of gamers, so this store is a favorite. The staff is always friendly, and doesn't mind answering questions. This is a great place for older games if you're a collector.

Poor customer service. Was told upon arriving that I was to keep my mask on at all times and abide by the markers on the floor showing which way to go down each aisle. No problem, I don’t mind doing those things, but the employees should have to do it as well. I saw many employees walking the wrong way down the aisles and pulling their masks down to their chin. Practice what you preach, and please open more than one register when there’s a long line.

After Christmas shopping at the mall my fiance and I went to goodwill. a week ago our home was broken into, vandalized and everything we own stolen, so we stopped here to get some winter clothing and other essentials. We are from out of town so we took an Uber. We had shopping bags and a personal bag bag with our laptop, personal documents, when we entered the store my fiance asked the front counter employees to hold our belongings and other bags from shopping. the girls took the bags put them in the office and closed the door. When we left we asked for.our things and they said we never gave them any bags to put up. I remember they insisted they didn't have our things and finally we called 911 for assistance and to request that they look at the video from the store. 911 officers arrived we provided them with our bank account information showing that bank account that was our bank card we showed them transactions on our bank account for the purchases that we made. Finally they told us that there was nothing that they could do and that we were criminally trespassed from Goodwill for 2 years. Are Uber driver has dash cam video of us exiting with our packages however Goodwill employees say there's no videos showing us even coming into the store. Officers on the scene pretty much how does we needed to leave and there was nothing that they could do. Other than the fact that I don't even understand why there are police officers working anymore because they never do anything about anything when it's really necessary and they should and what's the world coming to when Goodwill steals everything from people who just lost everything.

I wanted to give no stars, but instead I gave one star this place is far by ridiculous. I will not be coming back here anymore on Saturday of yesterday I had a very bad experience with a worker there which was a cashier. I know about customer service and helping customer cause I have worked at places dealing with that. I asked a female cashier which were a black lady which were older that where she were standing at the register with no one in line, behind her was a purse hanging up I said excuse me ma’am’ can I take a look at that purse she had a very nasty attitude rolling her eyes like she didn’t wanted to be there. She pointed and said you got to going back there and get in line to see something. So it made me mad I politely talk to the manager on her only thing he said don’t pay her any attention I will talk to her like he was lost. Workers like her going to cause big problems in a store like this with an ugly stanky attitude. I will not be coming back to this location anymore and this location really never keep items really it should close with disrespectful workers like her.

Personnel always friendly and helpful. Store is clean and well organized. Whoever works the jewelry counter is always pleasant and patient. I live 45 miles away but always enjoy visiting this store when in Athens.
